    Solo did tell Jules to go back down into the water if she got the bends, so it's not like that came out of nowhere. And I think the idea is that the air is compressed and supposed to be pumped down through the tube, not Jules just sucking air through it. Also, once a certain buoyancy is reached, it doesn't take much skill to make it to the surface, which luckily there just so happened to be a floating a object for her to hold onto so she didn't drown. I don't know guys....there are other things to critique about the diving scenes (like, Jules not equalizing pressure which would likely cause the eardrums to rupture at those depths), but overall I think it's generally believable.

    He told her how to cure the bends. Instinct kicks in to "swim" up. And as an engineer probably studied hydraulics and understands about putting a thumb over the hose to keep it from sucking water into the tube. but you have to remember she was out for a while healing so her story stood still while we watched the other Silo build to a potential full blown rebellion. so we made great progress in 18 but when we went back to 17 it felt like we went backwards. it's a perception problem. also guys, fans of the show are not going to keep coming here and listen to negative reactions. just saying. I listened for 5 min and was done with the whining.

      I wouldn’t call it whining, but rather the perspective of someone watching the show, trying to approach it with common sense and grappling a bit with plausibility. The show has so many mythical elements and mysteries that it slowly starts to stumble and leaves so many open questions, which in turn lead to even more questions, making everything a bit more complex. And somehow, there has to eventually be an answer to all the hopefully many questions and mysteries, maybe in the third or fourth season.

    • @Hobodeluxe007
      @Hobodeluxe007 День назад +1

      @@NoInterleaving the mystery is the fun for me. I love all the speculating and possibilities and each answer opening up another set of questions. I sincerely hope they change it up from the books so the book-readers can enjoy some mystery too.
      this season has been building to a climax it feels and a lot of different people are learning a lot of new info in 18 and it feels like that knowledge or their experience with others and events will result in many decisions being made that will cause that climax (for lack of a better word) to happen a certain way. To go to war or not? Seems like the big question they will have to answer.

      I agree that the tone is a bit “whining.” It feels a little too “dude bro” for me.
      Perhaps trying to figure out how it CAN be plausible would be the better mental exercise?
      For me, I find the idea of a medication to cause people to forget to be very plausible. Perhaps it’s because I’ve had different types of anesthesia (including the “twilight” type). And of course you would administer it little by little until you find the “sweet spot” for the dosage.
      I’m wondering if the syndrome is from people having an issue with the drug. Also, is it possible that they don’t use as heavy a dosage in the water in mechanical? That might give a physiological reason for the decrease Billings’ symptoms. 🤷🏽‍♀️

      @@Hobodeluxe007 Hold on, but I havent read the books yet so I am unsure because what could all happen? Even if they kill each other in the silos so what a few humans die and thats it? Maybe we will get some answer but the big questions of silo I guess will be ever unanswered bc the founders are already dead and their database is lost of their history. Bc the storytelling is very slow this season I guess there will be no episdoe which shows us if they could ever walk out again... what ever will come I don't think we will get a lot of answers. But if you love the mystery so much where does Julet pump all the water to, is she pumping all the water back to her silo? :D

    • @NoInterleaving
      @NoInterleaving День назад

      @@MuzerlinaV I doubt that the water supply for the Silo is located right at the top near the main exit of the Justice Hall. It's more likely situated at the bottom, near the energy source where the common folk reside. Of course, I love puzzling things out, but it all needs to fit logically into the story and remain plausible. To be honest, we lack the necessary knowledge to resolve certain aspects, and making assumptions feels quite risky, as many things change as the story progresses. More than anything, I believe Lukas will quickly find himself back in the mines, merely a tool for the mayor, who rules the Silo like a king.

    Yeah, the huge difference between Holton‘s wife Allison and Bill‘s wife is a kid. Remember she kind of lost it when she was trying to get pregnant and they tried before and it never happened and she found out they’ve been to. They never took her birth control out and she did it on her own when she found out that that’s what kind of sit over the edge Hit the letter. I think should’ve been a totally different person if she was allowed to actually have a baby

    2:30 Juliet definitely has crazy plot armor. She’s like a fallout protagonist, it’s definitely has been stretching the imagination on the things she’s done and survived. It’s still reasonable and not that impossible, it is a show after all.

    41:30 Im betting on lukas becoming the head of it , in which case Benard dies. But that doesn’t happen soon, juels is going to asemble the cannibal avengers and go into one of the two mystery shafts that were shown on the diagram to try to get into the adjacent vault without a suit and maybe go into the wrong one!

    The underwater scenes have to be taken with a grain of salt; otherwise, the entire series becomes incredibly unrealistic because there are so many logical flaws overall. But you’re right, the underwater scenes are very fictional. What bothers me more, though, is the jump by the two characters with the steel cable and the fall from a depth of 100 meters, where they suffered no real injuries. Or, for example, that Juliette got antibiotics from the fake Solo, which is actually extremely difficult to produce and not something you can just make casually. Yet the series treats it like, “Yeah, they just did that on the side.” Okay, weird. Thank you, i love ur potcast 😊👍

    The pressure at 20ft below the water is only about 10psi greater than at sea level and healthy human lungs can manage it pretty well. It would be more difficult to breath through a hose of that length but again not impossible for healthy lungs. This also assumes that the pressure washer she was using previously is no longer part of the equation which we simply don't know is the case one way or another. In any case it's doable but probably not all that enjoyable. The bends can take up to a few hours to occur. It's not a broken leg, it an internal condition that will always need some about of time to manifest. Solo explained to her about the bends and how to manage it as well as the concept of swimming. I'll admit that its a little bit too much like a video game tutorial for my liking but it's not "plot armor" as some have suggested. Juliet's arch so far has felt like a side quest but that's mor or less what it is at the same point in the book and I personally would prefer the interesting stuff in silo 18 to take more screen time and for good reason she can't be apart of that right now. The U.S. state of Georgia and the drug that make you forget are important story elements for later but I'm not going to spoil. While I won't say that your criticisms are invalid (like some other's I bee in the comments) I do think that tend more towards a casual examination more that an intellectual one.

    No, I think it’s kinda impossible. For that cause she would recognize how long she’s been gone reason she’s trying to hurry up and get back in a tight lineup with the timeline of what’s going on with the future rebellion either it would be far long if her time is longer than meaning can only be off for a couple days maybe unless she was unconscious for weeks and he didn’t tell her that the only other option

    It’s been one or two other shows in the past it’s happened for me once they do something completely stupid with the show. I don’t watch another episode after that happened with me in The Walking Dead. Also, the episode don’t remember which one same thing with fear of The Walking Dead don’t remember what episode it was But either way they did something that screwed it up for me and I haven’t watched the episode since I think it’s been like four seasons since my last episode of both of those and because of that I haven’t watched any of the spinoff none of Daryl none of that stuff but back to siloso far is still good glad to know I’m not the only person who’s ever done that

    I think the syndrome was cured by being in the down deep and drinking their water (she even holds up the glass while making the comment). Think about it they have things that make people forget in the water can’t really have it as strong in the down deep if you want the engineers to rennet how to run mechanical so their water is a little cleaner, so people aren’t having side effects aka the syndrome .

    You wanna hear something funny? I’ve done the same exact thing i’ve never heard anybody else say that, but yeah, I’ve done the exact same thing. They’re so Dexter did me like that. The last episode I ever watched. I don’t know if you’ve seen the show and hopefully I’m not spoiling it for anybody but the episode with his girlfriend, Wifewas killed. She was a very central character to me for his humanity after they killed her when he could’ve prevented it, I completely stopped watching it. Haven’t watched the episode since.
