Chen Meng is 23 years old and Wang Manyu, just 18. Wang has a really bright future ahead. Hope she can make it to China's top five to play the singles in the upcoming 2017 Worlds.
Manyu's forehand was super strong against Ito. But today Meng didn't give her much chance to show. Their techniques are close to male players. Both are great players. Manyu's flip wrist receiving looks much like Jike. Patience, young star. Your day will come.
Another fascinating match, and a very important victory for Chen Meng. She needed to establish her dominance over the 'next generation' after screwing up against Chen Xingtong in Hungary. And I notice that she's gone back to dominating with the forehand that's earned her several victories against LSW. But in the long run, Wang Manyu definitely looks one to watch: her backhand looked better and more secure as the match wore on. Also, those 'lobby' forehand loops were very interesting. How effective I'm not sure, and they seemed purely defensive against an opponent who was outpowering her. But used sparingly and well placed I thought: those shots could be very useful. They showed a tenacious will to keep the point going that reminds me of Ding.

I hope Chen Meng will play mixed doubles with Emmanuel Lebesson again in WTTC 2017. That could be very nice.
王曼昱这正手回去得一顿好练啊!还有我猜国家队又要招直板陪练了……
Nice

Wang Manyu‘s forehand looks like Jung Youngsik.
MiracoMangoManchuria 她正手和小郑一样比较弱?
她正手心里没数,捂防弧多一些。
