particularly strong return on serve, good serves for which Wang was not quite used to and somehow interesting high trajectory topspin attacks which again Wang didn't like and missed too many long. as for his defense it's good but he lost most of those points, it's short points and Wang's early mistakes against his balls which gave him the victory. Iranian's mentality is surprisingly strong
Yes, I am Iranian, The reason for being good at martial art was Bruce Lee. People went to see him in cinema 50-60 times I remember. Iranians are strong and love wrestling so it became part of the culture. Table tennis also is very populate but we have not produced many champions in comparison with other countries. But one reason for it being popular is that the weather is almost sunny all year long. It hardly rains so table tennis is cheap and most people have one in the yard. Therefore kids get to practice from very early age. The reason that they have not produced any champions is lack of training and they naturally do not like to learn things properly so they never grow
It happens all the time. China is not the only game in town. Faraji got lucky to catch Wang on a bad day. Wang's game was mediocre, and only sometimes his brilliance came through.
@@wolfhomma1590 Terrible statement!!! If you can't bring it on the day of competition, you deserve to lose. Whose fault is it that Wang didn't have a good day? You either have no idea of what it is to compete, or you have a terrible attitude...it is one of the other. Wang losing was because he allowed the pressure to get to him. What pressure? Faraji has a different style of receiving and not the regular one the Wang is used to. So much spins on those returns and most of the balls were at the edge with high jump or very low jump. Very interesting to analize this game. Wang’s forehand side was wide open and the young player had a quick backhand returns (flips).

its may be the mindset of current top ranked players.. ma long,xu xin never used to loose against low ranked players . You got to remember " never consider your enemy to be weak ". wang could have finished the game in the 4th set . he was up 6-2 or something , he was taking points on his serve as well as receiving the serve well . I don't know what happened , he just could not finish the game. As a experienced top ranked athlete , you got to break the rhythm of opponent by doing something different. He went into long rallies and kept on missing .No doubt faraji played well , and was lucky on few occasions , got to give credit to him . He kept on pushing wang . last set was probably the result of the 4th set . being up by some margin and not been able to take the set . against low ranked players you don't want to take it to the last set . Just observe the weakness of opponent in few games , and latch onto it to finish the game quick. just sharing my thoughts. being a wang chuqin fan , i dont like the way he is currently playing .even in olympics and now here

Meet the new Harimoto, with a 20dB vocal discount. 😆 An interesting point that came up quite a few times: when Faraji put extra top on his shots Wang would counterloop it long more often than not. This kid knows the Timo Boll monster FH-topspin shot, for which the German was famous for. And egging himself on even when losing a point ... only the greatest do that. I wish him the best of luck in his further career.
When did he meet Wang? First round he won by WO and the second round he lost to Lin Shidong. I couldn’t find any match between those two on the website for the 27th Asian table tennis championship in Astana
i have to say that was my take. who knows ..., but a number of " unforced errors " it seemed from the no. 1. what was causing that may have come from the opponents style or possibly a " glitch " in the sub-conscious of the no. 1.
Botic van de Zandschulp a name that most fans of tennis did not know of before ousted Carlos Alcaraz in round 2 of this year's U.S. Open, on any given day you just never know what the hell could happen once a set gets started.
Congrats to Faraji 👍 As for the champ, well, you win some, you lose some. It's just another day, and tomorrow is a different one. Get up, dust off, and try to win next.
Wang is Wr no.1 but right now he looks more like a Wr. 20-50 player. World class but inconsistent. Perhaps it could be pressure as he could be thought of as a “team captain”, since Fan Zhendong took a well deserved break. Fan did quite good for Team captain, and perhaps the pressure of reaching his level is quite demanding for Wang. But if he doesn’t change his attitude and playing ability, it wouldn’t be out of the question to demote him from A team down to B. Like losing against players with great amounts of skill or at least highly ranked is understandable, no one is perfect. But losing against a player that was basically unknown and had an abysmal wr compared to him is just a sign of his inconsistency, mental issues and maybe even tiredness.
Only the last 2 points raise questions... The rest is obviously a Chinese performance... The kid cannot take strong topspin, Wang had to play giveaway ineptly...
I agree, I mean Faraji Benyamin could prove us wrong? He already beat Wang Chu qin. But can he win his way from the men Single round of 128? To the championship? I am not sure. If he beat Lin Shi Dong, Harimoto and Liang. Then he's surely insane. We will see, right now he's the new young star. Can he play like Felix Lebrun? Time will tell. But I highly doubt he could win the championship in this tournament. Because he still got to face Lin Shi Dong and Harimoto... Time will tell though. I am waiting for his match with Lin Shi Dong. Right now Lin Shi Dong is on 🔥🎉 with a 17 Consecutive win Streak. Can he break it? Not even Ma Long 🐐 can stop Lin Shi Dong now. But we will see.
