Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! A difficult task to show on video. I love the way you show what backer plate looks like before you go into actual removal.
Hey man it was a nice video but I'm worried about the double sided tape, should I get a new one or is it okay with just the amount left in the mirror? If I have to get a new one, where can I Get it?
I personally got rid of ALL the double sided tape. Remove all existing tape from the backside of the mirror and just install it without the tape. The plastic "snaps" are MORE than enough to hold that tiny piece of glass in place. I've done so many glass replacements without the tape and not a single one has ever fallen out. Just make sure its "popped" securely into place.
I'm wondering if you have done the same mirror for a 2010 Civic DX. I pried the mirror out as you show and didn't see the groove channel, so it appears to be different.
b/c the glass was $2 from the auto wrecker and it took less than 5 minutes to remove and install. The only downside is you gotta go to a wrecker but it's close enough that it was worth the savings. The assembly in the US might be $30 but everything in Canada is crazy expensive.
This is the most detailed and thorough tutorial I've ever seen on YT! Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!

it definitely helps when I have used parts kicking around to show you how things are taken apart so you don't break them when trying to do the repair.
Thank you so much for this detailed guide
Glad it was helpful!

I haven't done a 2010 yet but I would assume the mountain approach would be somewhat similar.
Does this work with 2014 honda civic with the camera as well?

you're welcome!
Do you have a video of that... Hinge? Part?
I do not unfortunately.
That work for a Honda Civic 2005 hybrid?
absolutely! Since that car is a 7th gen civic that the replacement procedure should be identical to my video.
The entire assembly sells for 30 bucks, so why go through all this work?
