In this video, I'll focus on human research studies regarding the benefits of alpha-lipoic acid (ALA), particularly for diabetics. ALA has been shown to reduce hemoglobin A1c, improve insulin sensitivity, lower fasting blood glucose, and alleviate diabetic neuropathy. It also enhances visual function in diabetics and shows promise in improving cognitive parameters related to Alzheimer's.
Additionally, ALA supplementation can lead to significant reductions in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure, improve endothelial function, and aid in weight loss. Monitoring blood sugar levels is crucial for diabetics taking ALA, as it may interact with diabetes medications.

how much was used to lower blood sugar
Dr Peter , I am diabetic , I am using 600 mg of ALA , do you recommend switching to R- ALA
I used frequent low dose alpha lipoic acid for mercury toxicity... The problem was I still had an amalgam filling.
I was so sick for weeks.
It is great for mobilizing mercury but you have to be very careful.
I used that too, low dose every two hours for at least two years after dmps and emeramide as well.
I’ve used it before starting chelation and never had issues with it.
I’ve noticed more side effects if you will when I used it as low dose every two hours .
High doses 2400 mg daily can have the potential to reverse liver cancer. Burt Berkson treated patients for it, Iv obviously more potent, reversal as 3 weeks!!! He stated oral works too, but not as fast! Makes sense blood sugar would improve because the liver is being supported!
What do you mean when you say that you have to be careful ?
@jacobclark89 mercury does damage the body and no amount of mercury is considered safe.
It is very important to use a binder and be mindful about your detoxing.
Thank you.
Dr when to take ALA for best results

Lady with MS here. Big fan of grass-fed beef tallow in my mostly vegetarian cooking (makes roasted potatoes great). GF beef tallow has "conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), arachidonic acid (AA), oleic acid, palmitic acid, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), stearic acid." Thanks for your video.
Did you know potatoes were only discovered about 600yrs ago in South America? Eat more fatty meat and forget the veggies.
@@TruthMattersMan no
So where do you get this supplementation? Thanks doc.
Amazon is a good place to start.
What causes Diastolic BP to remain high when Systolic comes down? Mine is 113/88 and I’m 68.
Why didn’t you differentiate between R- alA ha Lipolic Acid, and synthetic Ala? I’ve heard the synthetic is bad for you.
He has spoken about this in the long version of the video. All the studies were conducted with the synthetic version.
All studies using the 50/50 mix
What type of ALA? R-ALA or just ALA
Studies were using the 50/50 mix which is the common one and cheaper

I've got neuropathy ( tingling ) in my hands that usually only happens at night and keep waking up with numb hands. My blood sugar is normal, but I want to try R Lipoic Acid for a few months to see of it makes any difference. What is the recommended therapeutic dose for someone in my situation???
