  • How to efficiently store wood in my wokshop has been at the front of my mind lately. In this project we build a simple wood storage cart from off-cuts instantly transform a corner of my workshop.

    Simple and functional, sick of seeing pocket hole carts, this is a nice suprise, I will be building my version of this tomorrow hopefully. Thanks for a small workshop super simple idea.

      Thanks for the comment Lee. The cart has served its purpose well over the years. Now retired thanks to some extra storage space created behind the workshop. But what I liked about my approach is that everything has been recycled into new workshop shop storage

      @@StrawbyteWorkshop my whole workshop in the making is made 100% from reclaimed wood and second hand boxes of screws lol. It's nice to find another accomplished English RUclipsr who doesn't rely on pocket hole joinery. 👍🏻 Massive cudos

    Yay! another video for me to savour in the late evening. Always enjoy your style and projects Karl. Thanks very much. Too many wasps in this one for my liking though. Wasp trap project next please. ;) Looking forward to the next one already.

      The wasp was cool wasn't it? And thanks for watching. I'm pretty sure you're going to enjoy the next video with or without a wasp. 😀👍

      @@StrawbyteWorkshop I have to dance over wood, cables, vacuum hoses to get to my bench which is definitely less than safe. I got told by my MD at work to carry out a 5S on my desk. I've been meaning to do the same on my garage but it's a much bigger job😀

      She's not my wife - I just have her around for jobs involving heavy lifting and moderating my comments on RUclips. Lol.😀

    Nice work!
    I like your emphasis on ‘going with the flow’. Can be a great antidote to a frustrating ‘by the book’ project beforehand. You know... the kind of project that creates said offcuts in the first place! Don’t ask me how I know.

      Thanks Frank. The idea for the commentary came from the fact I procrastinated for almost a year before starting this and a winter of offcuts being ruined through being stored badly. K. Keep watching and do share if you can n

    I have a lot of "useful pieces of wood" in my workshop. Much of it is stored overhead and it's not easy to see what's there. I like the idea of a mobile trolley. Might make mine a bit smaller and then make a second one if necessary. Thanks for the video.

    • @StrawbyteWorkshop
      @StrawbyteWorkshop  5 лет назад +1

      Mark Rowland I cant believe I didn’t mention this in the video, but the key reason I picked a new sheet of Ply to start the project was to get a sheet that was 1220mm wide which is always the widest size of sheet off-cut I would want to store. Anyway I have a smaller one in mind to sort waste into small bits to keep, bits to burn and bits recycle. Anyway thanks for your comment.

      It's fairly full now. I have a 3.5m rack in the workshop too which I didn't feature.
