This has inspired me to try something similar with the California Class to recreate the "It's all of them, Captain!" moment from the Lower Decks season 3 finale.
I will never not hate this build. Its my favorite!!! Honorable Mention, Starship Trait: Temporal Ally When Critically Low Shields, You Summon 2 - 4 Temporal Allies that are duplicates of your ship that will fire phasers and disruptors with FaW. Obtained from the Na'kuhl Acheros Battlecruiser.
Interesting, when I first unlocked that trait, it would only summon one copy of my ship. I guess the devs didn't think it was selling enough. Maybe that's why they gave it a boost.

I'd still be interested to see it, even if some of the equipment is behind lockboxes. Some of your builds have inspired me, and I'd be interested to see what you've done with the Achilles. It's become one of my favorite ships in STO. Especially with the dorsal firing torpedo launcher animation for normal torpedoes. The Achilles seems like the offspring of the Intrepid and the Inquiry that woke up one morning and chose violence. (Looking at the Achilles, it reminds me of both the Intrepid and Inquiry classes, if they were somehow used as a template to create a new vessel.)
After watching this I did this to my Princeton class. I'm on console, so I don't have the Gemini Device or the Temporal splitter yet, but even without them this build is more fun than it has a right to be! Thanks for the lolz Stu! Love your channel!
Superior Command Frequency also spawns a frigate that acts just like the flagship odyssey so you are spawning 2 ships per use. the ship that originally spawns with fleet support will just be despawned and respawned after each use
I typically use the Elite Alliance console on most of my builds, tying that in with the Hydra, along with the Type 7 Shuttles for debuffs - but I just got the Temporal one from the Event, so I will test that out. Nice additions to your set.
I'm not a "cruiser" captain, typically preferring more maneuverable Escorts. So while I tried the build on my Lexington, I typically run a lot of +turn consoles on her alongside Chevron separation to get the performance I prefer, and giving most of those up for the summoning consoles just made it feel too sluggish to me. So opted for the next best thing, and partially replicated the build on the Alliance Rex. It already has two copies of itself as wingmen, and while a fleet of Rex isn't quite as fun as a fleet of Odysseys, it still flies well for someone who prefers an Escort. ;)
I absolutely love this build and use a variant for another character of mine who's supposed to be a non-combatant ship. The idea is basically just using a massive distress call instead of relying on my own weapons. ... okay granted, I am in fact actually relying on my own weapons, but I can pretend otherwise and thats' fun.
Stu!!! I mean it, we need to talk about this obsession you have with the Odyssey Class. Edit: Also, I agree the Premonition should be a Battlecruiser. We have enough Temporal Sci ships. And the Protostar is already a Temporal Sci Spearhead if memory serves.

Ok, hear me out a Temporal/command Odyssey flight deck carrier with wing mate mechanics. A 5/3 layout or if you want to go nuts 5/2 with experimental weapons slot for the new HEXA cannon. With a proper FAW extension trait.There now you can have it all.😂
I actually already have an idea for the Spec that I want: MW (for the extra console slot) and Pilot (I've always wanted a carrier that could use Reinforcement Squadron)

If you equipped the Non-Baryonic Matter Deflector, you would get so much more damage, particularly on Basic and Advanced from Mycelial Lightning, it doesn't however look very lore-friendly. I'd also swap in OSS2 instead of one of your Uncon procs; you'd still have 5 uncon procs, aswell as the T6 obelisk console which would still be overkill, but OSS2 would also help with the Awhnee console or however you spell it (the haste for 35 second one). Awesome video as always and very well explained o7
I'd probably go with OSS1 because Ionic Turbulence is also a decent damage res debuff, but you're right, with the new Obelisk console I can probably lighten up on Uncon triggers a bit for more, so I could ditch Viral Impulse Burst for it. Mycelial Lighting does okay damage, but generates a lot of threat. Since I'm already generating a lot of threat with FaW, I usually go with a different core until I'm on a dedicated tank build (which this isn't).
@@Stu1701 fair debuff is always nice, but as you say, faw is already drawing tonnes of aggro, you may aswell take the tonne of damage mycelial lightning provides to help you survive the threat, and on basic and advanced, mycelial lightning does almost more than 2 turrets worth for me, as i say though, probably one of the coolest builds i've seen someone make :D
Imagine if you swapped 1 iso mag for the HYDRA console. I know it doesn't add more Odyssey's, but watching 5 of the summoned Odyssey's hit like a truck would be insane. When you take into account uncon and the vovan console, the hydra could be used very often.
I had HYDRA on the original version of the build, but took it off because for some reason it doesn't work on the odysseys summons from fleet support/flagship transponder.

honestly even in torp builds i can think of 10 traits i would pick before Black Alert, prob more if i look tru my trait list... i know, the idea is cool and thematicaly fitting for Discovery, but in game its just realy the lowest of the lowest traits, esp since u have to use a boff skill that dont have much use and long CD to trigger it, that alone makes it 10 times worse imo
We should get the wingman mechanic once we get to 65....and if they REALLY fight against that...then 15 points Command so we can run that as secondary......

The alliance console will summon a kdf bird of pray, a romulan bop, a jem'hadar bug ship, and a fed escort named Defiant class that always has the Saber class skin.(oh well cryptic needs to put a bug... feature in all new items)
So is cryptic selling STO, and even more importantly, what changes are we looking at? Major graphic upgrades so STO can compete with other star trek games and gain newer players. I don't want STO to disappear.

Stu I'm not gonna' lie man, but while I get it, the compulsive hate for the Enterprise-G honestly makes it hard to watch sometimes. At least we agree that an FDC Oddy would be great though. I'm doubly certain we both want Endeavour Gaming's Jamestown class. I sure do.
By "base model" I assume you mean the Sovereign you get from level. In that case, yeah, it's a massive upgrade. Well, depending on which version you get. I'd recommend the Terran Lexington, that's the one I'm using in the video.
Lowest cooldown at 8 sec, the prolonged photon comes in at 9 sec. The others are all above 10 seconds, which stu1701 mentioned hurts ITM from the Gigaran battle cruiser to try and keep FAW up as much as possible.
they're more powerful than typical beam arrays, and while they have a narrower firing arc, they're still wide enough for a broadside build. So if you like broadside builds, like me, they're nice to have.
They're not quite as powerful as a dual beam bank would be, but they're noticably stronger than a beam array, which is why they're only helpful on a broadsider. and yeah, currently the only way to get them is from the Constitution III, and they only come in Phaser.
I feel like you still have a few more left to bring to the table 😂 But lets be honest you are a closet Connie 3 lover 😂😂😂 Honestly would love a odyssey flight deck carrier then they would be usable for dps players more so than with the dreaded 4/4

the wide angle quantum is available on any c-store version of the Sovereign (including the legendary). You could also go with the Prolonged Photon, which is also wide and is available in the Phoenix Prize store.
I hate the weird mix of design. They basically tried turning a TMP era ship into a Picard era ship, but left too much of the TMP era aesthetic, like leaving the TMP style phaser ball-turrets looks so out of place. Some of the additional changes bug me too, like the phaser strips only covering the two sides of the saucer, but not the front, or how they moved the forward torpedo launcher to the neck, so it can't shoot directly forward or they'll hit their own saucer. I actually really like the original Shangri-la class that it's based on, but they completely ruined it with the Connie II. Also because of a certain encounter I had with Terry Matalas on twitter. That guy's a dick.
Redirecting arrays isn't even useful on a tank build because it only extends the duration to 15 seconds. The minimum cooldown of fire at will is 20 seconds so still need etm lol.

The Odyssey has always screamed carrier for me. Out of all the carrier ships to even exist in Star Trek, the Odyssey just seems fitting.
I feel like a modified sovineer class (t6 engineering odyssey) would make for a amazing carrier kinda like what did with the Yorktown/Lexington

Legendary Discovery spearhead from the 10th bundle as well. Though this on is a bit expensive, bundle is definitely still worth it, in my opinion.
Legendary Crossfield wasn't a Spearhead. It was a normal science ship, but they gave it a 4/2 layout.

well thats one way to create an army quickly.
Black alert only works well on a torpedo build, it gets buffs from torp buffs. So it does well in a torp boat

where do you get the wide angle torpedo?
the wide angle quantum is available on any c-store version of the Sovereign (including the legendary). You could also go with the Prolonged Photon, which is also wide and is available in the Phoenix Prize store.

Probably for the most part how butt-ugly it is.
I hate the weird mix of design. They basically tried turning a TMP era ship into a Picard era ship, but left too much of the TMP era aesthetic, like leaving the TMP style phaser ball-turrets looks so out of place. Some of the additional changes bug me too, like the phaser strips only covering the two sides of the saucer, but not the front, or how they moved the forward torpedo launcher to the neck, so it can't shoot directly forward or they'll hit their own saucer. I actually really like the original Shangri-la class that it's based on, but they completely ruined it with the Connie II.
Also because of a certain encounter I had with Terry Matalas on twitter. That guy's a dick.

Redirecting arrays isn't even useful on a tank build because it only extends the duration to 15 seconds. The minimum cooldown of fire at will is 20 seconds so still need etm lol.
