I added a ssd, 8 more gbs of ram and a low profile GTX 1650 to mine for a awesome little emulation/HTPC Computer
A similar model called OptiPlex 3020 is used in my school. Some classrooms have the sff model, others have the regular big model

Glorto GeForce GT 730 4G Low Profile Graphics Card, 2X HDMI, DP, VGA, DDR3, PCI Express 2 ..... I do video editing and rendering with it....Its also running Win 11 pro cost me $450 CDN in total and it's SWEET ....so I beg to differ Sir it's AWESOME value for money and totally upgradable 🤔🤔🤔
I bought one on ebay (arrived today) with i7 4790 CPU, 16Gb RAM (on 2 sticks) 512Gb HDD Windows 10 Pro installed or $69. Although I need to look at it closer to see if it is 3.5inch or 2.5 inch hdd. If its 2.5 I can add another SSD. If it;s 3.5 I could try to add and SSD or just replace the hdd. These definitely can be used for gaming using 1/2 height GPU cards such as a Radeon 6400. Mine looked like new, the memory looked new as well.

As long as it plays pac-man, I’m happy.
For about $100-120 you could throw an RX 6400 in there and it'll play older games like GTA5 just fine at 1080p high settings. The RX 550 low profile is also a solid option for just $50 or so, but it's less powerful.

Use a low profile GPU and an SSD and upgrade the RAM.
Got one free from my office for personal use as company ordered more than they required. lol! Threw in a low profile gtx 1650. 16gb ram and m.2 ssd were already preinstalled in this little beast! I like the small form factor of these computers

I found 1 in the trash, plugged it up to a monitor and it went fine. Upgrade to SSD and 16g from 4g and its great for RUclips.

this system is awesome and my daily driver since 2 years. i upgraded the cpu to i7 4770, 32 gig of ram a SSD added a rtx a2000 yesterday and i can run cyberpunk 2077 with 60+ frames in 1080p high detail. also windows 11 runs like a charm, you just have to patch the stick to oveeride the tpm check.
You can get a like a 2gb video card that has a low profile bracket for a mini atx computer and run on the pice slot

I put a SSD in mine and was able to upload Windows 11 somehow, didn’t have any problems for the past 2 years but it sadly now tells me that the next few windows 11 updates can’t be done since the system is too old lol
Time to switch to Linux :)

The 4770 is apparently beaten out by my Ryzen 3 5300U (Zen2) Acer Swift 3 but I would prefer to use an Optiplex over this because Windows 10 is crap and a machine like that may run Windows 7.
How is Windows 10 crap? Compared to which other OS for gaming?
@@timmyinthewell1 It is extremely bloated and slow, however I have chosen to go with a TUF Gaming A15, while I have used Linux for about five years I have taken it to using it daily, games run just fine under Proton so I have no need for a Windows machine. Just own a Mac and this now.
It is configured with 32GB RAM, an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H and RTX 3050.
@@2fps607 Yeah for Steam gamers, what about the others? Its hit and miss isn't it? Windows 10 may be bloated, but its the swiss army knife that hasnt been replaced yet.
@@timmyinthewell1 Oh, right, for the games I own on Epic such as Rocket League and GTA 5 I use Heroic, which is basically an open source Epic/GOG launcher. It also uses Proton.

I’d have to say “not really”. Maybe if you added a low profile video card but the onboard graphics card wouldn’t cut it.

Yes, with these specs, I used these:
CPU: I5 4590
GPU: RX 6400
RAM: 24 GB (8x2, 4x2)
SSD: Crucial MX500
Runs around 57 fps.
