This video was made to support anyone who needs info on how to swap out an Audi A4 or S4 soft top for another. Please comment for any further questions
Another useful tip is if removing roof from another car.. take the struts off that lift the deck. Keep it all connected to the pump and you will get no corrosive hydraulic fluid leakage.. to take roof off of doner car, remove roof on existing car and replace took 2.5 hours. You will need a second pair of hands to lift off roof and lift new roof into place. Alignment on my refitted roof was simple. Once one bolt on each side was fitted. The roof could be manipulated to align other bolts. Thanks very much for the video as it gave me the confidence to do the job
Have you figured out the solution to your boot sensor? I have the same problem bro, if you did fix it please make another video or just let me know how you did it 🙏🏼 I haven't dropped my roof for almost 2 years because of this issue😔
@@ismael-mm8gu yeah, 2006 a4 makes more sense, but this top soft top is from an A4 because A4, S4 and RS4 are all identical when it comes to body parts. But I could try to get a video replacing the glass on the soft top in the future. Its not too bad of a job.
On your top. When. You. Replace it. With another. Too. On the right rear in the back. You see a control body module. You replaced. The top with. Another. Too. Had to replace. One. A repair. Went. Bad. Burned the hydraulic lines. In the right rear. Have someone. Wit Audi software. Reset it. We have a channel. Audi licious. Shoukd. Have. Video. Taped. It. And you need 4 guys to LUC and. Instal. Or you will scratch the paint.
I am going to junkyard today to pull a convertible top off an A4. How long does it take to pull? You noted I need torx, allen, 10mm (for motor). any other tools you can suggest?
tserevenad sorry for the late reply, it can take a considerable amount of time unless you have an extra set of hands. Even with that it took us about an hour and a half. I’d bring the unlocking tool for the top or a two long flat heads, also a knife. Let me know how it goes
@@leenav9741 it was a big job. Got it disconnected and perfect timing a guy wandered by who i asked for help lifting it off and onto my cart. Took 2 hours. Price $102 including everything; motor cylinders etc. I would say removal or install alone impossible without damaging something. Thanks!
@leenav9741 thanks do you happen to know what the module is called I'm dealing with lights and windows alarm and wipers not work I checked my ccm but it don't have any signs of damage and this all started after I washed it I noticed water leak in through the right rear side so I'm thinking something got wet back there my ccm is located under the driver side carpet

The rear window in the the soft top? Or your talking about in a hard top?

my roof doesn't open, I already changed the engine and it doesn't work. is there a button that may be locked?
Gotta use a scan tool. It may show that it needs a sensor
Sometimes when you hold the switch for the top to go down it will flash why its not working on the dashboard
Is there any modules back there that can get wet and cause electrical issues
There's mainly sensors, the module is in the trunk.

The top still does not work. The windows did but not anymore as of recent.
