I have been using Shock OpenMove daily since June 2022 and really like them. I use mainly use them to listen to podcast and some music everywhere I go, and answer calls specially while driving for work (where I don't have the option for car stereo Bluetooth). I charge them each night and I cannot remember needing to charge them during the day. I owned a predecessor when they were called Aftershock and replaced it after 4 years from wear and tear.
I have worn them for 8+ hours without any discomfort. All other bluetooth earbuds I own tire me out after about 3 - 4 hours at best. I have tried AirPods, Jaybirds, Soundcore earphone and Bose over the ears and they just start to bother me after a couple hours.
They are the 4th items I have to take with me every time I leave the house:
1 keys
2 wallet
3 phone
4 shocks
My old shokz are allways low on battery...I would listen to podcasts all night next to my wife (not to disturb her because she's pregnant! Love you man
The orange ones look fire 🔥 definitely looking into these. 👌🏻
We’re excited to be with you everywhere!🤠
Its good in the open area
But cannot give up ANC. Especially in a crowded gym
Would love one of these for my runs.
Love my gen1 OpenRun Minis. Would love to give these a try! First song I listen to on any new headphones or speakers is Black Cars by Gino Vannelli.
I have some shokz and quite like them. I put ear plugs in and mow the lawn and can still hear my music. They are great. I'd take an upgraded pair.
Looking/researching into purchasing a pair for myself & my dad, both completely different jobs
but I would use mine to listen to Volbeat 🤘🏼
been a fan since the original Aftershokz, Openrun Pro are great and I own 3 pairs. Looking forward to this new version
I’ve been wanting bone conducting headphones for years. I’ve tried the cheap ones but was disappointed. I’d love to try the real deal. Awesome way to listen to podcasts while driving or doing stuff around the house.
Would be nice to see how they work answering phone calls, and listen to music at the same time
And being able to drive a bus with a lot of engine and people noise
It would be nice to be able to win ! This would be good so I could hear people in bus as well as Gps
I have the first model of Shokz Openrun. Had no complaints and have used them for years. I also and my computer tech and I use the Shokz OpenComm headphones. I absolutely love the OpenComm headphones for work. These new ones I love the color orange and I'm going to buy them for running.
I'd listen to my running Playlist! Becka Shae, Manafest, and Floraca! I'm getting ready for my 3rd half marathon.
I use the Openrun Pro (1) on the bike and they are great for that. Would test on something with a lot bass to see how they compare to the OpenRun Pro 1s. Maybe Chemical Bros.
Perfect for my cycling!!! Gotta get sum!
I still own a pair of After Shokz, so I do know how good they are, mine are at least 3 years old and still working great, so I would love to win an upgraded version and if I do, I would listen to Iron Maiden for sure, thanks in advance!!
Great review… I have the Open Pro first-generation, and I love them for what I need. How how much better are these compared to the original? Do you recommend the upgrade? Thanks
I upgraded from the original Open Run Pros and I would say they are worth the upgrade!
I would totally listen to “Eye Of the Tiger” on these!
Been waiting to upgrade my aftershockz. I’m going to get the orange 🔥🔥🔥
Been watching sense the jon4laker days and technobuffalo. Your an OG now 💯
I would listen to the BOTW OST while hiking with these headphones...enjoy nature with a bit of ambience.
Bought these ones based on all the hype but found it super uncomfortable while wearing a hoodie. They just don't stay in place and it's just annoying to keep adjusting them. I guess would be going back to the openfits 😅
Nice video. I just cant get behind headphones like this with a super stiff bnd. defeats the purpose of using them for everything workout related.anything where im laying down they are not useable. I returned the first gen versions, even though i liked the sound quality for what it was, and decided to get the Soundcore AeroFit Pro by Anker. these are surprisingly great and they come with a adjustable titanium band that are magnetic so you are not forced to have them. Also the battery life i was getting from the 1st gen Shokz for some reason, im sure this 2nd gen version is better. my Souncores last 15+ hours. Like i said i don't hate the Shoks but a non removable stiff band was useless to me.
I use them both lol. Shokz are my main headphones, but the AreoFit Pro are my more "portable" Shokz lol. Soundcore did a great job with them and before the Open Run 2s, the AreoFit destroyed the Open Run Pros when it came to listening to music.
Solid review I have the previous version. I definitely want to upgrade.
Thanks Jon for this. I'm on Shokz's email list and got their offer to buy a pair now and pay later and was wondering how this new iteration panned out. I have a OpenRun set as well as aOpenRun Pro set and really like them both. The thing is I can't really tell a big difference between them and I'd hate to spend the $180 for the 2s to find they aren't significantly better. You gave some good points and insights.
They are very different to the Openrun Pro. The technology means there is more sound leakage at high volumes but the overage sound is better and there is no vibration at higher volumes.
I guess I'd have to use one of those, to listen to your RUclips videos while not being entirely cut off from the rest of the family.
😆
I'm tired of having so many headphones and buds that are useless now because the batteries are so weak.
I am not buying anymore if it does not have replaceable batteries. It is easy to design and manufacture. Must be offered! 🧡
I’m curious why nobody has produced a replaceable battery option utilizing hearing aid batteries.
@@TheKurtLyonbc they wouldn’t be able to sell the newest version sadly
@@TheKurtLyonyeah!!
There are many devices from the past with swappable batteries. Hearing aids are a great example.
@@tyty._.317planned obsolescence. We should not except that.
The first gen model that I used, and then returned immediately had issues.
The vibration after a certain volume would initially be like a tickling sensation.
Whiich when used after a certain period of time like this would cause a headache.
And the slight vibration, even at low volumes would vibrate my spectacles and cause some giddiness and even headaches again.
Shokz had agreed that these issues were common with their product and even helped me get a refund, when these issues persisted with me even after months of use.
The Open Run Pro 2s definitely have addressed that. There is no vibrations or if there is any, it is extremely minimal and only at the highest settings.
Wow!!! These are Awesome! 🤩
I'd probably listen to a podcast or audiobook!
Probably listening to Eminem Kendrick or rob zombie first honestly. Navy vet trying to get back in shape Soni could use something for running for sure for sure
Love shokz headphones, been a ever since they first came out
Wish you compared them to the openrun to see if its a real worthy upgrade..
Love them!
Love shockz ,leader of the pack
I have the original OpenRun Pro. Is the upgrade worth it? I also occasionally have to wear in noisy environments, with earplugs required. Do they sound good while wearing with the new "air conduction"?
I got a pair, short answer is no unfortunately.
These are literally like 90% air transmitted. I tested with ear plugs and the sound basically went away except the very high frequencies.
These are interesting, wonder how they would be in a gym setting
I keep a pair of the Open Run Pro as backups
Backstreet Boys
Listen to my own songs and realize that it’s not the headphone but my music making skills that needs work 😜
I love my shokz. I’m a 24/7 wearer
awesome thank you for great video
I would listen to podcasts.
Hi 👋
I'd listen to Winning by Emtee and Nasty C,
I'm a frequent runner but haven't been able to run for the past 3 days due to a sprain,
Why is 6 afraid of 7, because 7 8 9
I'd listen to some Post Malone while walking my dogs. 😂
Great review! How are these for privacy? Can people near you (say at a bus stop) hear your audio?
What I would listen to is anything from PINK FLOYD. Thanks, Sir!
Nice video Jon!
I would listen to Linkin Park hybrid theory all over again
"a product name that tells you exactly what it does"
I asked my mother what she thinks of when she hears "Shokz OpenRun Pro2" and she said "something to with running." I asked what. she said shoes. I said the same. it sounds like shoes with shock absorbing obviously intended for running. not headphones lmao
I’m in.
I’d listen to some SiriusXM workout channel
The Open Run 2 full size band. Is it any larger than the previous version? I’ve been asking Shokz for yearrrsss if they’d give us fat headed folk just another half inch or an inch would be great. (TWSS) Thanks for the review Jon! Take care. ❤️🇺🇸👊🏼
I would listen Ar Rahman’s music
what does the pelican say I peli can Mr Pelican
nice sneakers 4:32
Good
I would listen to “born to be wild” lol. Just reply to me on here. 😊
I want to win because I need some extra cash to help get me back into a gym after the lockdowns. I need some new gym clothes, some pre-workout and a new pair of headphones.
Why did I watch your video? To be Shok’d. 😢
🪧
Unless you wear glasses…
I wear sunglasses and bike helmets with my Shokz Openrun Pros no problem. There's some others reviewers that tested glasses combo as well no problem.
I wear glasses and i have no problem with my Openrun Pro's. 😊
Been wearing shokz for years with glasses. Never an issue.
Just wore them on a run with glasses… it was fine
I work in a factory and we're required to wear safety glasses, almost everyone uses Shokz.
Hey, @jon4lakers - The first thing I'd listen to is white noise, because after entering so many giveaways, I need something to drown out the sound of my constant disappointment.
It would be perfect for running in the woods 😊
Thank you for the chance to win.
@Refaelgez
Thank you for your informative review!
About the giveaway:
The reason why I'd like to win is to motivate my family to keep on our fitness journey by adding some basic gear. These Shokz, for a start, are ear-resistible!!!
(If I am lucky enough to win, please contact me here and I can provide contact details.)
Thank YOU!
Listening to you won't. Great band.
I would listen to the Rocky theme, favorite running song. I'm visiting family in China and forgot my earbuds so having a pair for running would be sick, especially with how much I'm eating.
@jimmyfrostedflakes
thanks again! @jonathanrmedina love psych music like kikagaku moyo
good bone conduction headphones with bass-heavy sound profile is all I need while cycling and this would be a good buy I guess @irahul4sharma
I Love these headphones! I would love the orange ones for biking. hyrum_wright
wearing these while traveling would be so nice since you can enjoy your favorite music as well as stay aware of the surrounding to avoid any accident and injury @VMsince1992
I would listen to music
@tanradsan
would listen to music while working out using these OpenRun Pro 2 from Shokz @srhtripathi
