Hope you guys enjoy the Video! I'm honestly excited to use these for the Philadelphia Marathon in November. Link on these to check them out: sdqk.shokz.com/AestheticAl/T4ROR2NL?
Picked up mine today. Very important users of prior After shokz and Shokz devices understand something: These are NOT bone conducting headphones with the addition of an air driver for a small amount of additional bass. These are full range open ear air drivers/speakers with the addition of a very small amount of bone conduction. I'm not saying they are a bad product or sound bad, but there is a ton of sound leakage. I'm returning mine because Shokz isn't being honest about product design.
This is a really good point. These are my first "bone conduction" headphones (aside from a brief try of the version 1 in a store) and I was trying to figure out where the bone conduction was happening because it all seems to be through the "air conduction". I guess if it performs well it doesn't really matter, but I need more time with them to determine that.
@@jasestu for me the issues were sound leakage (my coworkers or people next to me don't need to know what music I'm listening) and situational awareness. Having used other Shokz products for years you definitely have less perception of outside sounds with these compared to 100% bone conduction. To your point what use cases and what features are or aren't important vary person to person. I just wish Shokz was more upfront to long time users. They market it as a step up in bone conduction, when it's actually a step down.
Great point Thank You Kent, your right they don’t mention that on the Pro2. Thank you others for chiming in. I don’t want outside people to hear what I’m listening to and that’s huge when I’m in my living room with my family listening to other things. Sounds like the upgrade isn’t worth it. Thanks 🙏
@@bobbyg4100 My question though is, is the sound leakage that much worse than the originals? This is not a big deal for me, but it is something that could be depending on your use case. I have both right now so I will test it, but my claims are very similar to the video so far. I think overall they are better.
Less vibration = Bone conduction reduction I picked up my Openrun Pro 2 a week ago. I currently have the Aftershokz Aeropex. The Openrun pro2 have more bass, but, I like the "in my head" bone conduction sound when making calls on the original, several Aeropex better. With loud ambient noise, I find it harder to hear with the new one. If I place my fingers in my ear canals or use foam ear plugs, the sound increases a lot on the aeropex. On the new model, the sound is reduced a lot. I believe the air speaker is the problem. Maybe the problem of the bone conduction driver is: 1 The placement of the new headset is not as close to your skin 2 It is smaller to make room for the other driver. 3 Or, it is not energized as much to increase the battery of all four drivers (it is my understanding there are 2 per side) I am obviously speculating. However, the new one is better to listen to music in a quieter ambient environment. Hopefully, this may be a software controlled remedy..ie reduce/increase the volume of individual speakers. I know I will receive comments Such as..these were design to hear your surroundings or buy an in ear set for loud noises. I have a previous bone conduction that works great in loud environment. These are individual reduced compromise of the open air and the original bone conduction models My friend who is hearing deficient cannor hear these, but he he loves his open shoks pro 1 Cmon shoks....do better...wasted money
I agree with all of this. additionally, the silicone flap that covers the USB port comes unsealed very easily. I will be returning. really wanted to like them though.
After watching this video and reading your comment, I'm convinced to stick with my openrun Pro 1. The mag charger allows you to put it on charge with one hand, the bone conduction is the white point, I don't want to sacrifice that for a half baked soeaker driver. And you're right, plugging your ear when you need to is better than having air conduction When my gen 1s expire, I'm getting another gen 1.
@@Aesthetic_Al 80% volume and mine are basically a Bluetooth speaker for all around to enjoy my music. Even at 25% you can hear what is playing in a very quiet room at around 5ft.

The best way to explain these is that they are a cross between the shokz open fit/open fit air and the open run pro Gen 1. They sound great but not as loud or as much bass as the open fit. they have the open fit air quality but lower volume. They also don't have as much bone conduction effect as the open run pro Gen 1. Take each product and cut them in half. They are good but don't expect full bone conduction sound and feel and don't expect the same level off high volume and bass from the direct pitch/air conduction. One last thing is the AI mic. It is good, better than any previous version of the the open run or open move. The opencom or opencom2 has a better mic. In order for best mic as far as noise canceling for the person on the other end would be the #1 opencom2 #2 opencom #3 open fit #4 open fit air #5 open run pro 2 #6 open run pro #7 open rum #8 open move The audio quality and loudness list #1 open fit #2 open fit Air #3 open run pro 2 #4 open run pro #5 open run #6 opencom 2 #7 opencom same as opencom2 quality #8 openmove
Regarding multipoint connection - you don’t need to pair your Garmin watch with the headphones, if you’re running with your iPhone. If you have your iPhone on you while running, your Garmin watch will play all the workout prompts through the iPhone and the iPhone will route them to the headphones, even if you have music or podcast playing. Try it! I never pair my headphones with my Garmin watch, and all the Garmin prompts are still delivered to my headphones while I run. That way you can leave the multipoint open for another device like iPad or a laptop.

Your fit tech vids are the best! New to the running/weightlifting/office earphone market. If there's an overall pick not listed, would love to hear it!
Thanks so much! Welcome aboard, and I hope you stick around. For the open-ear market, I’d recommend the Shokz Openrun Pro 2. However, just a heads-up-no open-ear designs offer noise cancellation, so they might not be ideal for places like the gym or a plane due to background noise. If you’re after an all-in-one earbud, the Beats Fit Pro could be a better choice. Also, I have a video that might help you decide: ruclips.net/video/itbuqw1r3XM/видео.html

@@VinSpackerFor me, the Original Openrun is better than Openrun Pro and Openrun Pro 2 since I prefer 100% bone conduction. I find it harder to hear with direct pitch in a noisy environment, and earplugs would make it worse. Every newer generation of Shokz reduced bone conduction and increased direct pitch without mentioning it on the website.
The biggest issue I’ve had with all shockz headphones is their voice assistant compatibility. I use Siri and voice to text a lot and on shockz product across the board weren’t so great. Is there an improvement here?
I wonder how those sound in high speed/high wind conditions. I do road cycling adn with speed over 35 km/h the wind is to strong for the open run pro to give me good sound. How are those?
i think you are in the minority, for me the magnetic charger was the biggest drawback, I don't want a proprietary one more cable ot carry around, i just wanted a regular usb-c which they gave, however they have not made it all bone conduction and instead added an exdternal speaker, not what I want.
I want to purchase these for my brother who has sime hearing loss. He's a big guy so im concerned they might not fit. Also i hope they will work like my bone conduction shokz do with my mee device for the tv. Any tips?
Great stuff. But I will hold on to my Open Run Pro mini until it breaks. I also wish they transfer the multifunction on the side since I have a habit to talk during calls from left to right but that is just me. The new Openrun pro 2 looks promising.
I have the original ones and I really wish they would read out texts as they come through since I'm usually biking when I use them, so I don't have access to my phone. Did they add any kind of feature like that to these new ones?
One observation, the Openmove headphones have the same magnet system and when you put them together the same as the openrun 2, great review im totally going for the pros 2
the originals are better. I have both. if you have openrun pro it is true bone conduction. pro 2 are almost all air conduction and not much if any bone conduction.
I am wearing open run pro mini fo two years like everyday whole day and I wount by a second Version for 200 bucks. Usb-c...what? Magnet is super! +2hours..ok 10 hours was more than enought. +10% better sound.. That loud beep sound with volume reg is steel there...
They didn't ditch the magnetic charging cable they had to make it USBC like everything else just like Apple the magnetic charger was proprietary and has to have a USBC charger to move on
After reading few comments I feel that this company is risking its reputation. False advertising is a risky strategy. These are mainly air, not bone conducting. It is very important for many users. I will personally stay away from this particular product as I need bone conduction for my use case.

@@VinSpacker the standard openrun are my preference
@@VinSpackerFor me, the Original Openrun is better than Openrun Pro and Openrun Pro 2 since I prefer 100% bone conduction. I find it harder to hear with direct pitch in a noisy environment, and earplugs would make it worse.
Every newer generation of Shokz reduced bone conduction and increased direct pitch without mentioning it on the website.
Personally I agree that more bone conduction equals more better. Thanks guys I'm glad I saw your opinions before making the purchase
The biggest issue I’ve had with all shockz headphones is their voice assistant compatibility. I use Siri and voice to text a lot and on shockz product across the board weren’t so great. Is there an improvement here?
Did you get the regular or mini?
I went with the regular since I'm growing my hair out again. Otherwise, I'd have gotten the mini.
I wonder how those sound in high speed/high wind conditions. I do road cycling adn with speed over 35 km/h the wind is to strong for the open run pro to give me good sound. How are those?
The USB C charging is a deal breaker for me, the magnetic charger was the best.
i think you are in the minority, for me the magnetic charger was the biggest drawback, I don't want a proprietary one more cable ot carry around, i just wanted a regular usb-c which they gave, however they have not made it all bone conduction and instead added an exdternal speaker, not what I want.
said no one else, ever
I want to purchase these for my brother who has sime hearing loss. He's a big guy so im concerned they might not fit. Also i hope they will work like my bone conduction shokz do with my mee device for the tv. Any tips?
What about sound leak?
And some people here saying it not bone conduction.
Great stuff. But I will hold on to my Open Run Pro mini until it breaks. I also wish they transfer the multifunction on the side since I have a habit to talk during calls from left to right but that is just me. The new Openrun pro 2 looks promising.
why didnt you compare the wind noise with the old openrun pro 1 ?
great review!
Glad you liked it!! means a lot
could you make a video comparing these with the open fit air
I have the original ones and I really wish they would read out texts as they come through since I'm usually biking when I use them, so I don't have access to my phone. Did they add any kind of feature like that to these new ones?
are you using a iphone or android?

One observation, the Openmove headphones have the same magnet system and when you put them together the same as the openrun 2, great review im totally going for the pros 2
Good point! I really appreciate you sharing that. I never used the Openmove but I did get my hands on the new OpenSwim Pro no magnet system on those.
for me the only reason to upgrade would be the usbc
Less vibration sounds nice. The vibration on my hearing aids is annoying
Nice Sunglass ! Can you tell me the name of those?
had to really look into my amazon orders from last year for them 🤣: amzn.to/3Z4TJIt
I have them in black my gf has them in purple.
Are you running the Charlotte Marathon?
I have a friend that is. Might go spectate it now that I live in the East coast. I am training for the Philadelphia Marathon (NOV 24th,2024)
Dos they switch off automatically?
Didn’t know new ones were coming. I just bought some 2 weeks ago
Under 14 days? Maybe you can exchange them. Totally worth it imo
Their official website has a 30-day return policy. (At least the EU site does per EU law, so YMMV)
the originals are better. I have both. if you have openrun pro it is true bone conduction. pro 2
are almost all air conduction and not much if any bone conduction.
@@thechenowth3406 agreed. for me the standard openruns are still king of all of them.
I guess we won't be seeing IP67 waterproofing on any pro products 😢
2:45 lololol Nice review! I kinda want to try one now.
Let's link up for a run! 🤙
What do you think of the mini version ?
Can anyone tells me about the battery life, my old one’s life’s was only 2 years and can’t find any replacement
what about the sound quality?
Still no 15 sec back button/feature wich would be handy when listening Podcasts and audio books. Would be a killer feature for me!
the 1st gens are better. the pro 2 have almost no bone conduction… almost all air conduction!
the wind test was not perfect as the microphones are both on the right side of your head. when your head was out the window that was the left side.
Why do they still have those volume beeps
And still no Bluetooth LE Audio and LC3 codec. What a shame, Bluetooth Classic Audio really is obsolete.
Lol
Strata handle?
I am wearing open run pro mini fo two years like everyday whole day and I wount by a second Version for 200 bucks. Usb-c...what? Magnet is super! +2hours..ok 10 hours was more than enought. +10% better sound.. That loud beep sound with volume reg is steel there...
Finally type C.....i dont have carry another cable.
They didn't ditch the magnetic charging cable they had to make it USBC like everything else just like Apple the magnetic charger was proprietary and has to have a USBC charger to move on
if you have a really big head, even the normal size ones dont fit correctly and come off your ear
Dr. Al was cool, just don't let him get too goofy😅 Like Jordan Schlansky to Conan O'Brien
This gave me a good laugh. I had to look up some RUclips clips of that
Mine didn’t even come with a cas.
where you buy them from? exchange them! inside the case you also get the USB-C cable to charge
Shokz Openmove also has magnet
Trade in program 👍
Don't need the background music, and the microphone is fuzzy
Did he comment on the sizes
If you go on the Shokz website there are measurements to go by. They are the same product though.
After reading few comments I feel that this company is risking its reputation. False advertising is a risky strategy.
These are mainly air, not bone conducting. It is very important for many users.
I will personally stay away from this particular product as I need bone conduction for my use case.
get the feeling this was sponsored.
Maybe don't let him come on the videos... nasty
That little jingle is definitely not appreciated.
this case is so silly
