I agree with Anna Bailey...you saved me some money with your comparisons. I already own the Stone Cold Fox and the ND palettes. Thank you SO much for doing this video, Angela!
Being a warm-toned shadow girl, I love the Patrick Ta palette. I also like more “vibrant” colors, which for me is also Patrick Ta. The other palettes are pretty, and certainly versatile. I love your comparison videos - they’re interesting and informative. Thank you! ❤
I'm still enjoying trying different looks with my Pretty Grunge palette. I used lower two left matte shades yesterday, with one of the shimmers on top. Thanks for the comparisons. I'm now convinced I don't need the Mario palette
I’m so glad you did this comparison. I thought maybe I’d buy the Patrick Ta, but the Color Pop Stoned Cold Fox is so much more reasonable. BTW, not related but I got my Stoned eyeshadow palette today on your recommendation! I’m so excited to use it tomorrow! Yay! ❤
Wow so many matchy matchy colours! The SCF covers a lot of shades I think and a good value pallet. Still not a big fan of the new Mario selection and the size of it is very small for the money. Great video hunni, appreciate you loads xxx
The first few swatches from the Mario palette remind me of the original Mini Naked palette and I never made the connection until now. I guess I'll have to pull that one out and save my money. Thank you for the time you put into these!
Hi Angela, thank you for all your hard work that you put into this video with the swathes, thank you for your honesty as well , it’s really helpful regarding these palettes, when I saw the Mario palette I immediately thought of the COLD STONE FOX palette, also you have additional shades & at a more affordable price,if you can’t justifying Mario’s price, but man , are they close in colour scheme .Love Katherine xoxo
For cool tones, the Sultry mini may be comparable to the mattes. I went for it this winter and I do kinda wish now that I had gotten the original palette with all the shades. It is sooo good. I thought Juvias Place's Nubian Earth was pretty cool at first too, but it may be more neutral pulling warm on my skin tone. It is pretty too. Their formula used to be so much better than it is now though. Mario's swatches look unimpressive. I know swatches aren't everything but I would go for Patrick Ta or Colourpop instead of mario just based on the cklor pay off and the fact that the formukas seem so much smoother.
I’m leaning toward the Patrick ta just because it does have warmer shades than the Mario palette I’m definitely more of a warm tone it was something I hadn’t considered before your video 😊
If you like warmer shades you should also check out Patrick Ta's first 2 major dimension palettes! They are very warm and have mixture of matte and shimmers @@Pinky3787
Thanks for the comparison. Generally I use the pro Mac shadows and create my own pallets. However I think that the Mario and the stone cold fox are my favorite pallets. I may have to try one.🌸Really enjoy your videos!
I skipped out on this Mario Palette. I have a ton of similar shades and i don't use a lot of really light shades. If i had a tiny collection I'd be into it, but with my collection, i have the colors 10 times over. 😂 It was cool seeing the comparisons though.
Thank you Angela for these comparisons. I have the Glam palette and it is true that there are shadows that look like Makeup by Mario. Thanks for this tutorial🌺🌺🌺
Thank you, this was great! been wanting the ND Nude palette, now this new Mario is out and I wasn't sure. Definitely getting the ND i need a nude palette. Thank you!
It would be interesting to see how they compare to the Colourpop Gone Matte pallette. I actually tried to reproduce the Patrick Ta look you did a couple weeks ago with that palette and it came pretty close.
I am good. I have more neutral mattes and shimmers than I know what to do with. This was really informative though. I have to revisit the “Stone Cold Fox” palette. The size is almost overwhelming. I really love Viseart mattes. They just apply so much better. I am also enjoying the Danessa Myricks Groundwork palette…no fallout and super buildable and versatile. I have Groundwork II on the way.
This video is perfect timing! I've been contemplating which palette I want. Thanks for doing such a good comparison!! Do you know of any gray palettes with the gray like Makeup by Mario's gray? I don't want to buy the palette just for that gray, but it's so pretty it's tempting. 😊
Thank you for watching! It’s hard to find an all gray palette, and especially one with that kinda blue toned gray. I looked online, maybe the Juvia’s Place rebel quad?
The Sultry mini has a pretty nice grey matte. Sydney Grace's Heaven on Earth has some nice cool toned shades too. You might like Love's Journey more though. I'm very twmpted to order it but at the same time I feel like the cube is close enough to Heaven on Earth and I love the Heaven on Earth palette.
Thank you for this video! I have the Stone Cold Fox palette and need to get it back out! I haven’t used it in quite some time! Although I like mattes, right now I really like just a little bit (or a lot) of shimmer too! Is that an Aura ring? Do you like it?
I've been loooving a lot of shimmer too! I actually just made a custom shimmer palette and that video will be up next week. And yes, it's an Aura ring! I loooove it and I've been thinking about making a video about it
I picked up the Mario palette and I’m so disappointed. I’m going to keep playing with it for a week longer maybe before returning it. Im struggling to understand and utilize the shadows because of the organization (or lack thereof!), and the lack of pigment is really bothering me. I have light skin and I have trouble getting shades 2-7 to show up on my skin at all, but then the last 5 are all pretty pigmented so they are too much for a transition shade. I do like the all-matte aspect, and I like the lack of fallout and wow the last 3 are dreams for eyeliner or bold looks - but I don’t do bold Smokey eyes, only very light ones, so I’m having a bit of a hard time building up enough mid-range color. Any tips for how to best use this? I want to love it!
I have a tiny makeup collection - basically just My Dream and I Need a Nude, and a mini elf quad with all mattes ( Love you a Latte). My other more colorful palettes get next to no love from me. I’m considering the ABH Nouveau palette or Patrick Ta, but at $70 for huge pans and too many dark shades I feel like I should grab a drugstore matte palette instead 🤷🏼♀️
Oh no!! Did you watch my first video where I did 3 looks with the palette? The shades definitely need a few layers to build up the color but I found that they showed up fine of my light skin. So weird! What kind of brush are you using to pick up the shades that aren't showing up for you?
@@angelaabright thanks for replying! Yeah, I wonder if it’s just that I am used to Natasha Denona formula, or maybe my brushes are too soft to pick it up? I have been working to build it up, but I am using Refr brushes. a few synthetic real technique brushes, and docolor brushes. I used the real techniques shading brush to try and get more pigmentation, but it seemed to struggle to pick up the powder. I definitely did watch your first video, by the way!! 😄
@@queenmin5902 1. makeup by mario the neutrals 2. natasha denona glam 3. ABH Sultry I can do many similar eye looks by following high end palette tutorials with my colour pop stone cold fox palette. It's a must for cool neutral shades lover.
I suppose for ppl that want to be technical and precise about formulas and palettes this is a good and educational video.... I for one am not that type of person! I prefer to see your beautiful face doing your makeup over these kinds of videos, but again, before anyone bites my head off this is MY opinion!! Looking forward to the next Besties video 🥰
Thank you for this comparison! I now have a reason to get my Stone cold pallette back out!
Yesss!
Do it! The colors look so pretty.
Can you recreate the Mario eye looks with the color pop stone cold fox pallet?
I second this!

I love these comparisons! I don’t like the Patrick ta, idk what I’m doing wrong but the colors come out muddy looking on me. 🤷🏽♀️
