New player here about 10 games played on tabletop simulator. You've made me a boros addict, played anim pakal and gut. I recently bought my first 2 packs, and I pulled the field of the dead you mentioned, made me point at the screen and then the card.
I think some cards that give double strike, or some wheels like windfall, reforge the soul, and magus of the wheel. Agate instigator and purphoros give you more snake ETB damage too!
I wanna stay away from Wheel effects because I know alot of xyris decks use them. Burn, on the other hand, I completely forgot about and will definitely be adding it into the deck. Thanks for the help.
This year I would love to see a bigger focus on fun decks. You stated multiple times how your opponents don't like to play against some of your decks and I think that's a bad way of playing commander. Do you have some decks that are just fun to play, any decks that are playing a bunch of your pet cards, without a focus on winning the game? I changed my mindset over the last year and must say my commander games have been 10x more enjoyable if I don't play staples or focus on winning. Thanks for the great videos either way! I really enjoy your content. :)
Agreed! It's crazy to me that this is a rare take. Would you mind sharing your current appraches to reach that goal? Or maybe even a few decklists, would appreciate it mate. I'm trying to reach fun for the table with my decks too and would love to be inspired :D
@@GrayVMhan I took out Zealous Conscripts and Combat Celebrant from my Kiki Jiki deck to actually nerf it. In their places, pet cards! (Krenko Mob Boss and Precursor Golem, my first rare ever). I felt so happy with the change, and piloting the deck was so much fun. Then I was introduced to a new playgroup that was a little more cutthroat and since then I'm wondering if I should go back 😂
@@Schwannick My most recent deck is just a collection of cards that I always wanted to play. I tried to find similarities between them to have a theme for my deck and went from there. I think another important part to my deckbuilding is not to have any staple cards that I would include in every deck and therefore also not using EDHRec at all. I used to be a big fan but I don't think EDHRec helps much with the fun aspect. :/
I played my satya deck for the first time this last weekend, the host was waiting for a friend to show up so we played 1v1, to say it was devastating is an understatement. Then his friend arrived and it happened again. And this is with just a few swaps and still maintaining the energy theme in the deck. I am so irrationally excited to strip out the energy cards and upgrade it into a Satya slingshot machine. Just thought I'd mention it because I think you'd like Jeskai. 👍👍👍
I had built your Otharrinlidt when you first published your video on it. While i gavent played it in a while, im definitely interested in your no limits Gut list and luckily a lot of thr parts overlap
Love the xyris idea. Purphoros is expensive but I’m just gonna get shared animosity instead. Imagine getting attacked by 25 snakes that each have 25 power
Funny thing, I have a Xyris like yours, and a Marchesa Aikido hehe, plus a mono red but that one is Krenko Mob boss. With that in mind, try the Aikido version of Marchesa. Is just awesome, include a sunforger package and you’re golden.
Hey man much love on the content, 2025 gonna be big for you i already know. I have an alternative to xyris, have you considered sergeant john benton. little more aggro focused, any ideas on ways to build him. thinking about pump spells and politics cards. keep up the hard work
Little suggestion for the Xyris deck, Zada, Hedron grinder. You’re already using single target combat tricks to wreck shop with Xyris, with Zada and some snakes on the field, they’re basically all win conditions. I have a chaotic Xyris deck that I love playing on commander nights.
I run a combat tricks xyris deck, and I really did just make it a multicolor zada. Also have a bunch of the tricks adding hex proof or indestructible, as everything falls apart when xyris goes away. Also candlekeep inspiration, as it gives power for all exiled instants and sorceries as well as ones in graveyard, too much graveyard hate in my pods.
I'm not into extra turns or combats, but I think if you rule zero about it, it should be fine. I myself enjoy the "random parts" of the game much more... Therefore I play a Karona, false god goad-focused pillowfort deck and a ( one the first look) madly brewed bunch of stupid chaos stuff in WUBRG, which is helmed by Esika to get at least a small enjoyment of color fixing... ( the bridge will never be played in it 😢)
Your original Otharri video is what got me here. Boros birb is best birb.

I LOVE the xyris deck list. I got it a few months a go and it's just so fun to play
I'm glad you like it!! Have you made any changes to it that you've enjoyed?
I haven't yet, but I want to soon. Do you have any recommendations?

Love your videos. Can't wait for more high quality content this year.
Need a breakdown on that Marchesa deck, sounds legit🔥
Gut has been my favorite commander since it's release. Glad you love her as well!!!

I agree but also my pet card is Kiki Jiki

Peak intro
DD, just out of curiosity, what was your other channel about?
I love your deck techs. hell yeah
Otharri has quickly become one of my favorite decks!
"sometimes that makes my opponents mad, but there's nothing i can do about that"
Preach 🙏
I see a magic mirror podcast guest episode in DD’s future

question! would we ever get gameplay of you playing ?

There’s quite a lot of wincons he doesn’t include for whatever reason.
Mirrorwing Dragon also provides the same effect if you wish to double. I run them in my Feather the Redeemed deck

Similar to your Xyris is my Sergeant Benton Deck. Lots of humans paired with green and white combat tricks.
Sargent is so strong!
interested in the deck list, tryna make mine more synergistic
@@calebkrause7185 go to Moxfield and search for me: Morvagor. But be warned, I only have awful budget decks. I started Magic in 2023.
I'd love to try your Queen Marza deck against... or not... my friendly not so friendly Tivit Politically "in"Correct deck.
I love Gut, True Zealot
Marchesa deck vid when?

i'm here because i'm a Boros player for a very long time.
