    I think i just discovered from watching you in this still amazing attempt, that learning a piece, it's not that we become more superhuman if we are able to play it, but that we solved the muscle memory puzzle using our tool box of known techniques and organized it to produce the sound required by the harmony and music on the page. And even more important that we know exactly what it is we have learned at any point even if it is not what is written on the page or not final. It is what we have stored in our mind that we need to be aware of and work on constantly, and not what is on the page. I used to never know what i had learned from a new piece and would endlessly look at the score, not my mind, and not know what i had yet learned. It took ages to learn a piece. I somehow knew it but why didn't I look at what recorded in mind, i guess because i thought it was not worth looking. Wrong !

    • @dollybird6290
      @dollybird6290 3 года назад +2

      I think it would take more than a week or two to reach performance level as it takes her a few months before she's ready to go on stage.

    • @dollybird6290
      @dollybird6290 3 года назад +1

      I too would like to see a finished piece. It's hard to go past these well known pieces even if considered overplayed. Still, it'd be new hearing it played by a RUclipsr you're following.. especially if it's one they never played before.

    • @richardcommins4926
      @richardcommins4926 3 года назад

      @@dollybird6290 Yes, to play on stage could take months to perfect the piece. I was just hoping to hear her play it at a noncritical level. Hell, she is almost there after 1 hour. I love her interpretation and speed of the piece. The piece should be emotional, fun and light but not too fast. If she makes a mistake in the middle, who cares, just keep going. The energy to play it perfectly magnifies the learning task by 100 times. Valentina Lisitsa plays it way to fast to try and impress us and butchers the piece in my opinion. Valentina hates the piece and it shows in her performance. She rushes to get through it.

      If she has time to do this, I support your idea...
      I've also asked her for an absurd suggestion like these... Like asking her to do a "serie" in which she records full covers of songs suggested by the subscribers.
      So far, for all the videos I've seen on her channel, I've never seen her talking in detail about reading music, but more about breathing, posture, interpretation, muscle memory and fingerings... And by the way, I also demanded a suggestion for her to talk about score reading in detail (which is extremely important), like explain what each symbol means, or how can I know which note is written there on the score (is it a C? is it a D? an E? a F? a G? an A? a B?)... I've always had these doubts.
      So, what do you think of the idea of her making a video explaining in detail about the topic of music reading?
      And by the way, from what I saw following her Instagram, she said that someday she will post a video on RUclips talking about the topic of "Analysis & Interpretation".
      Watch out for it, haha...
