I quit drinking for 30 days 11.5 years ago, but never drank again. Ever consider that changing your mind is all that matters rather than praying?

I used to be a heavy drinker and I stopped and then I relapsed again. I’ve been drinking since I was like fourteen and my parents sort of were like ya know offered me a glass of Merlot or a beer with every meal that was normal for me but was what wasn’t normal was the fact that while everyone else were shitfaced after like one drink I was like drinking before parties and then having like three shots and not feel the effect until the next day .
Even though I wake up vomiting, I still kept drinking every night I stopped clubbing and started day drinking and that’s when it got rogue cause I was into the fireball, jack daniels wild turkey, aviation and I was drinking straight from the paper bags.
I decided to stop because I gained so much weight but idk if it’s just me or if it’s something to do with recovering but I’ve noticed I’m craving lots of chocolate, cake and sweets. I never used to have a sweet toooth, I was more of a meat kind of person but now I’ve eaten a bag of candy in one sitting I could never do that before and gauge myself with cake and for some reason it’s helped stop my cravings
Does anyone else get mad crab cravings after quitting or is it because I’ve quit smoking which was surprisingly easy since caffeine has the same effect on me
