CRACKING the 150kg SAFE PRESS!

- Britain's Strongest Men take on this beast of a press- 2x 65kg 'safes' either end of the bar swing about like a pendulum as these Giants attempt to press it overhead to lockout. A 150kg overhead press is no mean feat, especially when it's swinging about. Control overhead is key in this event.

Eddie, "Yea I've got 2 legs hangin from my shoulders so..."
nate kilmer why?
nate kilmer yeah but does that mean you aren’t allowed to have strong arms? Why is it weird for him to say he’s got strong arms?

15% max hydration.

Check out Jouko Ahola, he was Musk before Musk was Musk

The way Eddie just strict press is a feat in itself
Strongman: *Can hardly breath he's that exhausted

It’s very interesting how there’s barely a middleground. Either 0-2 or 10-12 reps
Luke and luke
Ulises Peña Pérez 2 guys got 5 and 7 but the rest had 10-12 or 0-2 lol
Boris Johnson Yeah, They showed the scoreboard at the end of the video, that’s why I said “barely”, and it’s just 2 guys.
It is 100% technique. They all can rep that weight, but the setup was too awkward for most of them.
Some people may also train to win certain competitions and not others

My man just took the piss on more than 3/4 of the WSM competitors
Felix looks younger than the guys in their 30s.
He's an alien
Black dont crack
Yes which is why he did 0 reps. He looks real young with that performance. Lol

You know you're special when big kaz is impressed
Only strongman to be exempted from competition because he was too good. He probably would’ve had as many titles as Pudzianovski if he was allowed to compete full time
@@jaket2274 he was a danger to himself and his fellow competitors and people were choosing not to compete in WSM because of his attitude. Type in “OD Kazmaier barrel” and watch the vid that comes up. Kaz was competitive to the point of nearly accidentally killing his partner because of his antics. Don’t get me wrong, I admire Kaz and truly believe he was the strongest man alive, but everyone saying he was banned for winning too much are uninformed/didn’t watch the old comps. Kaz would scare people into quitting events because the expressions on his face and sounds he would make would terrify them. Back then many events were more physical and competitors were afraid that they would be injured when facing Kaz.
@@gainsandglory6808 I’ve seen all those videos and seen the OD accident, unfortunately for your point all of these were after his 3 titles and “ban”. Yes he did scare people out of the way in WSM but he never hurt anyone, besides himself competing in the WSM in 1979, so he still should’ve been allowed to compete. Also that comment is a year old my guy
@@jaket2274 I know it happened after his ban but that doesn’t change the fact that that was the general attitude towards Kaz from other competitors and things like this are what got him banned. The OD incident wasn’t the first time something of the sort happened, but it was very memorable since OD was almost seriously hurt. It just happens to be the most obvious example of how his competitive nature and win at any cost attitude could be potentially harmful to other competitors. I am not taking away from Kaz or saying that he is not a champion but there was no conspiracy against him. He was not held back by his ability to dominate the sport; he held himself back due to unsportsmanlike conduct.
If Eddie learned to use his legs in the overhead lifts then he would have shattered the Log Press record. His strict OHP was that impressive that he was able to win events with zero leg drive
Leg drive/push press shouldn't count, that's some crossfit bs

This really showcases the development of both Tom and Bish.
Looks like this is an event that’s better suited for the comparatively shorter guys for once
Eddies abs are stupidly strong they help him a bunch in this.
Congratulations to Mr Eddie Hall. These guys are really doing well. You all are great warriors.
"holy catfish man"
You only get one shot at this kind of things, gotta have good one lines prepared.
Eddie’s pressing power really is amazing
We now know why Eddie hall is the best. No cheats on any workout. No using legs on a shoulder press.
It’s hard for the taller dudes they need to squat down almost to get under that bar.
Eddie hall is just a beast of a presser haha 😂 love his channel
Same for shorter guys to do atlas stones
Wing span to height ratio plays a key role here. It’s not just a matter of muscle power. Competitors with a shorter wing span are at an advantage.
Exactly, I was thinking the same!
Its good to see such a turnout for competitions like this. Its also good to see that people are actually watching and are involved, and not just there recording on their phones to post on Instagram.
4:00 wearing his belt on his shoulder like a WWE wrestler 😂😂
Eddie understands he can turn this shoulder press into an inclined press. Smart.
Stoltman just loved dropping apparatus for beats without actually lifting
Hicks gives me hope as an average height human to be able to be as strong as these guys
Graham is 160kg which is dubble the weight of a regular 1,80m guy, it's just the others who are stupidly big or tall XD
“Legs are for walking” 😂😂
This at the 2022 Orlando Europa coming soon! 💪🏼
The taller guys were at a disadvantage. Perhaps an adjustable bar height should be implemented to make it fair.
Exactly what I was saying, why they wouldnt have the red bar adjustable so every guy has it at the perfect height. This way the shorter guys literally just step under it, and press. The taller guys have to squat down, arch their back, put hte pressure on their spine. Its a complete disadvantage. Hell if I was a shorter guy Id want it that way, I wouldnt want to win the competition knowing I had an unfair advantage over the taller guys
Omg I loved eddie
Absolutely MOGGED!
Those guys were really strong. They were almost shoulder pressing my biceps curl weight
Eddie's great technique with the upper chest
His core must be real strong or else this could damage his back
@@sahil47 Look the video of his Axle Press WR my back is getting pain just to look at
Overhead pressing more than your own bodyweight will always be the ultimate attainable feat of strength in my book
Brazil assistir os caras monstros💪💪
News reporters are also body builders 🤣🤣🤣
Big fan of Eddie sir Love from india
Hicks is like why does eddie always takes the reign over me...
I love this event, why doesn't it appear in contests more often?
because if we're being realistic, it isnt fair to taller athletes. It be one thing if they could adjust the red bar, adn keep the weight, so that every guy has it at the correct height. But it isnt fair if the shorter guys, just step under and press, while the taller guys have to squat so far down, arch their back, basically putting the pressure on their spine.
Are powerstairs, stones, loading and throwing évents fair to shorter athlètes ?
Height of felix is more so hard to adjust than eddi hall
The heights of Mark and Eddie are 193cm and 191cm - and both have very long arms.. Id actually say Eddie and mark are the same height and ive often doubted the 193cm that has been used. Fact is - horses for courses. Eddie is built to press and Felix - at this standard - is not a good presser. Simple as that. And btw - being above average height is an advantage. Genuinely. Such a wobbly lift demands leg drive. The best in the world at this is 198cm tall.
can anyone explain why there are athletes that unable to lift participate in the competition? i mean as a body builder they should long know their own limit form day to day training right?
Tom has to limbo under the bar to press it.
Even though Eddie won,
Felix is in our ❤️
OK now I'm just amazed by Hicks. He's nearly as tall as me yet he can lift more than a dude who's twice his size. Just damn impressive!
Stoltman had a massive disadvantage since he is much taller. He had to get down under the bar, do like half a squad just to get the bar in a position where he can actually press it XD
ল রদ রদ মে হবে হবে মো
thats an advantage, as he can better leg drive the bar up. others have to go down and up. he just goes up
To be fair the man started from the bottom and just pressed , Tom had to carry it up
Oi muito bom gostei adorei um abraço de Elisabeth e Fluvio 🇧🇷🇧🇷🤗💗
Best eddi hall
Felix age has took over
Bill: Why didn't you use your legs?
Eddie: cuz legs are for walking and squatting.
I like edde no editor hall 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵i from Nepal
unlucky Tom lad, plenty of time for you, just look at that beast technique
Is it okay to use your back when pressing like this? Ive heard it is but was not sure.
The press is the most technical of lifts. Stoltman just needs a little Tommy Suggs in his corner.
Hicks is damn strong for a 178 cm guy

The tall ones r struggling 😂😂😂...
Eddies back is stonger than a tank
Eddie has / had the strongest shoulders in the world.
Hall is the best
It's all about balance
Advantage the smaller man and the positioning of the arms to start off with this one if ur tall your arms are at the wrong starting position

Super
How heavy are those.. it's actually the awkward shape makes it so hard..
Felix V Hall in shoulders just isn't fair.....Felix is a monster of man, but shoulders is his achilles heel.
Is that bill kazmaier interviewing eddie?
Is that the same guy who competed in 30 kg hammer hold
( I remember his face )
Yes
Eddie barley even used any leg momentum its mainly striclty upper body strength its pretty amazing everyone else kept relying on there legs momentum and strength pushing up almost like jumping a bit
You do with what you have... Eddie stopt using leg drive because of knee pain, then he just decided to strict press everything... legacy is there but sadly not the log WR
@@e.c.9468 Yeah that's why I had said like 2 years ago or one that it was pretty amazing he lifts it with upper both strength with barley any leg momentum.
Wish eddie kept powerlifting haftor wouldnt have a chance today imagine how strong eddie would be now😭
Sure, but as Eddie said in an interview powerlifting doesn't shine like strongman.
“safe press” looks like it’s about to fall forward all the time😭
Funny how these videos come out before thors deadlift. Hes worried.
Wondering if Klokov was there :))

No, something wrong mark must win
Stoltman is huge and tall thats why he can do more reps just look the height of the steel even just on his heart height
So what if you drop it on your foot?
Don't mess with Eddie.
عارف اللهيبي اتفق ططاط

Eddie hall is a badass could of prob done 15 or more reps or more my personal fav strongman of all time
Mantap
The taller guy with longer limbs needs more force to lift the weight. That's the disadvantage of longer limbs. However longer limbs generate more force when you are throwing or striking.
If tom stoltman would just get his static strength up for pressing and deadlifting hes gonna be the king of strongman for a long time.
He said on Instagram today he's got a 455kg deadlift down now so he seems to have impressed alot. Ironic Luke's a great presser and Tom isn't. Guessing the height doesn't help him.
Is there sport or competition that isnt commented by neil??😂😂
