That’s what I loved about having a ’Tunder’ when I was a kid- you didn’t need a trail, you made your own! They would go just about anywhere. But when you titled the video High speed Tundra cruising, I thought you must have bought one of the new 600’s cause high speed and Tundra never went together! Another great video, Louie!
Yes! Great rip & beautiful footage! Learned something new too, did not realize that the otters bore through those beaver dams like that. Incredible stuff. Also didn’t realize what you meant by “being careful in beaver territory” until I saw you roll by one of their stumps, that would be a bad day hitting one of those at any kind of speed. As always, Thanks Louie!!!
The amount of fun that that these older sleds provide at 30 mph can't be beat by new sleds. Same thing with the older 200-350cc four wheelers. The engagement needed to drive the old sleds make them way more fun in the tight and slow woods driving. New sleds are so big and heavy that they are a burden in places these old sleds shine.
I call mine the slow mobile and I love it! Pulls all my winter camping gear out on a frozen lake in the middle of nowhere and does it with ease. 3 toboggans full of gear and a flip over shack. Sometimes we go for 5 nights and that used to require a lot of propane(a tank per day) now I have a little wood stove. Makes the job look east in comparison to my buddies sleds
Hey man, watched a bunch of your maintenance videos on the Tundra, I just picked up a 2000. How do you adjust the secondary clutch on these? My belt rides pretty low. Thanks!
Nice ride powermodz dude! That was to bad about your beaver pond. Heat wave killed trails in nh this last week. Fingers crossed i can get out one more time. Love the spread you got there.
Still love your lil hot rod 😍 would love to see it with like a one or two inch track lift 😀you think it would handle nos at that point lol a model truck nos kit strapped to that would be brrraapp, or even putting like a 3 degree pitch to the skid would do it ehh?
It still surprises me how good little sleds can go in deep snow, threw the tight woods, and have good enough speed. I'm glad I still have a 340. It's all I need.
hey there i got a problem with a polaris indy 500 classic 1989 . the sled will idle very well and start easy but it just bogs or die if you give it any throttle . i took the pipe off and then i can rev it enough to make it move and it doesnt bog but it shoots flames from the exhaust side and the carb side too . there is close to no compression on one side . but i tought since it idles good i could still run it a little but cant get it to rev with the pipe on. does it mean its too rich . the main jet is 280 and the pilot is 40. the fuel pump is brand new
My Dad had a 76 ski Doo that had the single ski up front and the dual tracks. Top speed was probably 25mph lol. It had a cool sled to pull behind it. Ski Doo trailer was yellow and aslo tilted. Think engine was a 399 fan cooled. Would be nice to have it now as a collection piece.
hi can you reply pls how much if I were to send an atv artic cat h1 650 to get fixed and frame work done and to check if it's in good shape and replace the front driveshaft
Love the tundras. Louie is your website down? Tried to get in the site a couple of times the last few weeks. Site won’t open states not private might not be the actual site. Tried to open it on a Mac and windows computer got the same error
So your elan rebuild series I kinda old so I decided to post here. I just ran across a very low usage '71. It however has some rust issues where it wasn't a left to rot in a field and the foot rests and belly pan filled up with leaves. Did you ever do any metal work on these old horses that I just missed ?
hey Louie i have a question about crank seals. i have a 99 Arctic Cat ZL 600 efi and i checked the crank seal on the PTO side by spraying carb cleaner next to the primary clutch and that side is all set. i was thinking about pulling the flywheel off and looking for oil or something that could tell me the MAG side crank seal is bad. not sure if that is going to do anything for me. have you ever seen the MAG side crank seal go bad, everyone i have talked to says it's usually the PTO side that goes bad.
That looks like a sled I would make use of lol.... found a a few for sale but ones like yours are $4500-$6500 and that is a bit out of my price range ... a indy light GT long track can cost $2000 not as bad but just not a Tundra Thanks for the awesome video
Honestly there’s a lot of riders I see on the ofsc trails that should have spent a winter or two on a unit like a tundra to get the feel and understanding of real sledding, before graduating to a modern rocket.
I have a 1987 tundra 250. But it has a problem with "low speed bog". When its idle it has a hard time building rpms, and mid speed its sluggish and boggy, but high rpm it has lots of power. Anybody got an idea what could be causing this.

Always loved how you enjoy the lower budget sleds as compared to the greatest newest stuff.
Always!

So cool how those little things almost float across the snow. Looks so fun around there
Great old machines…my dad had an orange ‘87 that I rode the absolute hell out of. Never gave us any trouble - I wish I still had it.
I didn't realize JEEP made snowmobiles. Lol
That thing was going through everything. Love that sled.
Thanks for sharing.
lol thanks for watching!
Proves you don’t always need a brand new turbo 1200 super sled to have fun!
very true!

Awesome I took a 1989 tundra and installed a 380 engine limited the throttle and way to go work amazing. Actually lifted the skis at start off lol
Solid, reliable and easy to fix, love them old sleds.
Lmao ha my tundra for 5 or 6 years in those 6 years I never ever let it warm up just bar it it’s whole life she’s still alive and doing well to
Just picked up one for the cabin really nice to see how they ride and what you can do with them thanks for sharing
Any thoughts about putting a track with slightly bigger paddles on one of these sleds
Enjoy it

I have a Tundra R 2004 and have installed 3" handlebar riser and install plastic skies that are 11 pounds lighter
It made a big difference in riding
Great idea - I have some of those!

Those 277 engines have a surprising amount of power for their weight. Too bad they are fitted with a plastic fan housing that break easily.
