When the Only Way Out IS UP - Forcing Tundra & Trailer Through Winter Storm

- It wasn't in our plans to get stuck in knee deep snow for hours on end just trying to reach a place to camp. But that's exactly what happened. Taylor from @TaylorGibleroffroad and I committed to a trail near Stevens Pass but the snow got deeper and deeper as we gained elevation and there was no where to to turn around. We identified a spot on the map that would allow us to turn the Toyota Tundra around but we were dragging our Mammoth Overland trailer and we weren't sure that we would make it! With our tires aired way down, 4x4 low activated and locker engaged the tundra battled hard through the snow till we finally reached our destination. The next morning we found ourselves face to face with a severe winter store and an angry snow cat operator. This was one snow camping trip to remember! #toyotatundra #overlanding #snowcamping

It was a difficult journey amidst the winter storm, but it was touching to see them overcome it along with the beautiful scenery.
It was like watching a grand drama between nature and humans.
It was really cool to have the will to keep going and not give up even in difficult situations.
It was a beautiful scene where the majesty of nature and human effort harmonized.
We also support you here in Korea.
Perfect example of, Get some work done today, “but don’t forget to live” 👌🏽 much respect to you and what you’re doing sir. Thanks for keeping it real.
Never a dull moment.
1 word CHAINS! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦 Mine stay in my truck all year round.
I throw some in the truck next time, thanks man.
Thank you I started watching but went to comments cuz I was going to say the same thing. Chains down here in the lower 48 seem to be a thing of the past. They'll try everything on the market but God forbid the try Chains.
Another awesome adventure shooting content! It never gets old!
I’ve ran x3’s,toyo mt’s, geolanders mt’s and now running mickey thompson baja boss a/t’s and out of all of them the mickeys have been hands down the best tire for snow/ wheeling
I bought a tundra because of this video
Hell yeah
I did something like this once. I was spinning the tires and came upon a super sharp rock under the snow and sliced a tire wide open. Changing that tire, in that weather, late at night, in deep snow...would not wish that on anyone.
That's why I run with "e" rated tires on every vehicle.
holy crap that sounds horrible 😬
That would be awesome to do something like this! I never do enough winter camping.
excellent video! keep up the great work.
Sweet video, love the real like vlog style mixed with the aesthetic shots. You guys killed it 🤘
Hi from North Central Washington (PNW🌲) Thanks for the hard work and effort put into making this video, awesome! Cheers! XPLRNW
Those bloopers were great.
Love your content man!
Man, that's the thing about PNW snow. It is such wet snow that it is sometimes impossible to get traction, regardless of which tires you have.
When the snow is super cold and dry, it sticks in your treads and gives you twice as much traction. But not this snow! Lmao.
You could always buy a tire groover tool for $100 and sipe the s*** out of the tires!
Classic tundra dash looks like a Christmas tree but she’s still rippin!
As the kids on Southpark would say, were in a bit of a sticky situation
for real hahah
Tundra FTw!
Awesome video! If you ever need another rig just let me know 😉. Always game for a random snow adventure.
Ko2 have been the best tire for me. Central Oregon. Lots of snow. Always my go to tire.
Love my Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my 4Runner. Had Trail Grapplers on my lifted F150. Also had KO2’s. Missed you man!
Trying to get back into creating RUclips videos more often!
The Bigfoot crowd will love this video :) you are in prime location for sightings! Thanks for the video
Yet there never is....unless it's blurry of course. 😅 Bigfoot is a truck.
@@tomlorenzen4062 agree totally😀👊🏼
Nice video. Watched you as a silent viewer about many years (since your husky rescue) and enjoyed every single video (I was more active in the past in your comment section :D). Your editing skills have increased enormously in recent years. Keep up your awesome work. You made me buy a Land Rover Defender and convert it into an Overlander. Best desicion I've made in the last years :D
Great run. My last set of tires were Nitto's and they seemed to be softer than KO'2s. Snow types makes the difference is all I can think of? And the KO2's are sketchy and feel like they are prone to hydroplaning.
Since I bought my 80 series Land Cruiser BFG is all I have run on it. I am actually looking at switching it up and run the new Toyo Open Country RT Trail when I move up to 37s.
Hey Maxx love your videos I’ll be in Oregon this summer maybe I can go wheeling with you guys
Yeah man that would be awesome!
I put some nitto ridge grapplers on my f150 and got 54k miles out of them. Handles good in snow, mud, rain and everyday stuff. Super quiet too. When it came time to getting new tires I almost went with the recon but just seemed like I might loose some capability so I stuck with the grapplers and just went up in size. They are expensive and kinda heavy compared to other tires but they have held up for me.
If you ever near the aspen/snowmass colorado area I would love to do some wheeling and filming wth you guys! keep up the awesome vids!
Id love to explore Colorado more!
Would love to see what I can do for ya Maxx for outdoor content. We are based here in Southern California but been to many areas. Let me know if I can help in anyway.
What setup are you running to clear the 37s? Dope truck, loved the vid!
Awesome video!! Where is the BFG jacket from ? Very cool !!!
cool video. and also i wanna say t hank you because you were driving a tundra, my wife was 50/50 of getting one. and with this video we watched i think i may get one. and not to mention she is a justin timberlake fan. that other dude she said looked like him....hahaha cool video. TUNDRA ROCKS!!!!
If you are on the fence of getting a new tundra, do not hesitate. I love my 2022 Tundra!
I do RUclips also but I would definitely love some pointers and wouldn’t mind helping out 😅
i would try the falken wildpeaks at4w i have the at3w and love them.
What are you looking for help on with the business side?
Hey man, we are looking for all sorts of help. I'm just a little a head of myself because I still have a bit of logistics work to do, but we will have opportunities for content creation, affiliates, sales, influencer management, social media management and more. Shoot me an email at info@outsidersmedia.com if you're interested in opportunities with Outsiders and when we are ready ill let you know how you can get involved.
How about good tire chains? That would help.
Yeah Thats a great idea, i think i have a set for 37s from a HMMV
What was your tire pressure at?
Dude, why havent you tried General Grabbers? X Overland uses them on all their trips!
Need an update on Taylor's ZR2 lol
KO2’s are perfect on a dry road, doable on a wet road, and absolutely worthless on anything more than wet grass.
-Full size Tundra owner.
Unhook trailer, winch the front of truck around and rehook?
Tundra for the win!!! Raptor would have blown half way up.
Hey Maxx! I think my comment might be getting pulled because I added my IG page.
Long-time follower of the channel, and have really enjoyed watching your journey.
I run the Misfit Outdoors IG page, and am definitely interested in hearing more about Outsiders Media or anything we can do to help out. Would also love to go wheeling and/or camping! We’re located in Northern CA, but always looking for an opportunity to get out and explore new areas.
Don’t forget to live! 🤙🏼
How do I get into something like this? My dream job!
Hook that to your tacoma and put home made skis under the trailer tires next time and get way out there.
Think my previous comment got deleted cuz' I included my site.. Maxx, have always loved your content and would love to talk! Digital media firm based in UT on board with the cause 👍
I would love to learn more about becoming a content creator for companies. Any information would be much appreciated!
olympics or cascades?
I am interested in learning about building a brand of Content Creation
Let me know what type of help you could use.
Did onX show if it was a groomed trail or not? Would explain why the snowcat operator was dickish
Max that snow cat operator was fully in the right to be mad at you, he has a job to do and you are just filming to get likes and a dollar! and you should of stayed camped till he passed.
Keyboard warriors: "don't go out wheeling alone, EVER" Max: "hold my beer". These videos are inspirational to just get out there and take the adventure head on.
Nitto's are garbage i regret buying a set for my super duty, i will not buy another set. looking at some Toyo AT3's
So you are in the middle of a work and you hear that there is a winter storm coming. You then decide to take a camping trip through the middle of the storm you knew was coming. Of course you didn't have intentions on making a video about your dumb decision. Sometimes I wonder what makes some peoples brain tick😂
I shoot content for a living, I worked a gig in the morning and then picked up this trailer and was scheduled to shoot the trailer the next day. Our plan was to stay in a hotel but we decided it would be easier to just camp that night and get straight to shooting the next day. The snow was deep and an adventure unfolded so I decided to shoot this video for my channel which I hadn’t planned to do. So in short, money and doing what I love for money makes my brain tick. The content we shot in those 2 days is good for roughly $20k of revenue plus this video, just to go camping…and you helped me earn that by watching and commenting so thank you. Hmmmm so dumb, enjoy your work week.
Too much sausage for that tiny trailer. Next time you go on an adventure, make sure you bring a fork and knifes. That was too much spoon.
dude that truck sucks ngl. Toyota is a joke. get yourself a power wagon. cool lights tho
