I think we just view it from a psychological/scientific lense. Its always been here but we used to call it Evil, Selfishness, Hedonism etc. The kind of people would rule in Hell, except that I suspect God's justice will surprise them and turn that logic on its head.

Am I aupposed to believe I am a vastly inferior human being to Terry Tipton, Bonnie Tipton, Jeremy Noone, Shawn Noone, and their sons in terms of character, judgement, and intelligence? I feel psychologically destroyed around these people. I do not want to be a part of this family. It is too much psychological torture. I guess they are blessed to never be wrong or guilty of anything/ Maybe I show my discomfort by staying away from them as much as I can. It is as if some social force trapped me into financial dependency with Bonnie and Terry Tipton in 2021. They can never be wrong about anything as I hear them talk. It is too much psychological torture being a part of this family. It is too much misery. They are apparently blessed with never having to feel guilt their entire lives, and I have to experience nothing but guilt and misery. However, I earn money, I do not want to be near them. It is too much psychological torture. I am in so much misery.

I have recently added Jordan Peterson to my morning prayers. He hasn't yet declared Christ as his Lord and saviour. I pray that his spiritual eyes would be opened. I always get frustrated when he goes on about God and the Bible, even the crucifixion, but is missing the vital truth, that Jesus came to earth to conquer death once and for all, to take our sins upon himself on the cross, as the ultimate sacrifice. He offers us forgiveness and eternal life with Him in heaven, if we only declare Him as our Lord and Saviour. JP is missing this vital truth. Great to hear that his wife has recently come to the Lord ❤🙏
Please Lord, open Jordan Petersons eyes to the truth of the gospel, in Jesus's name I pray, Amen

I'll pray for him too. A person is not saved without being born again.
John 3:3 makes it clear that, "Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”. Being born again means having the Holy Spirit dwell in a person. Romans 8:9 "But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)".
If a person has the Spirit of God living in them, there will be evidence of a changed life over time. The person will be set free from habitual sins, one after another. If a person hangs onto habitual sin the Spirit is not in them: 1 John 3:8-10 "Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother."
This is a good test for a person to know if he/she is saved or not, and it can give an indication of other people being saved or not. But, it is a process over time, and each person is at a different place, so we cannot compare them to others, but look at how they where a year or more ago.
In Peterson's case, it's concerning that he denies the virgin birth of Christ. But, I don't follow him much and I don't know if he is saved or not (ruclips.net/video/FLNwj5hKx_w/видео.html).

Its important to separate those people who present and express on occasions, some narcissistic traits ( which many of us do on occasion ) as compared to people who are full blown narcissists with degrees of personality disorder. These are not the same and we need to be careful not to be tempted to label and categorize people too quickly.

    • @TrudyContos-gq1bw

Well labeling was originally for clinical use only.
But, we have grown to label everyone.
But, a narcissist is a behavioral disorder that will only get worse, but better to suit their dysfunctional life style.
There are no good that comes from a narcissist.

The ones you need to be careful of are the ones who set out to purposely destroy others. Narcissistic traits or narcissistic, abuse syndrome or reactive abuse are totally different from someone who seeks to harm others on purpose and with malice.

    • @wishIwuzskiing
      @wishIwuzskiing 2 месяца назад +4

@drebenjamin9564 a very good point. An emotionally healthy person can be told "that's a bit narcissistic" and it will come some reflection and possibly an apology. But an true narcissist will more likely have an aggressive response. In fact, that can be a red flag if we think "I could never say that to them" out of fear of the reaction. They need our prayers but for the sake of sanity and health do NOT invite these people into your life.

      However -
Both lack a comprehensive understanding of the Word of God on at least some very important and serious issues. Consequential in part.

Particularly the dialogue with his frienemies as they tell him the tragedy in his life is his own fault. Job manages somehow to be both simple and wise. The tradition behind the book of Ecclesiastes is King Solomon wrote it. He was said to be the most wise man in the world; yet, his tragic flaw was a weakness for women.

I do think JP is on his way to a relationship and spiritual knowledge as he further explores Christianity & moral relativism. Narcissistic is a buzz word these days but yes, people seem to be more selfish. We have been sliding towards this in a culture of have it your way, do what feels right, follow your heart, and the rise of technology at the fingertip, etc. I also see the pendulum swinging back as more women are choosing to stay home and tend to the home, children, homestead…. I believe Peterson is doing a fine job at presenting the gospel with such deep thought and conveying the vast knowledge and meaning that comes from scripture most would not comprehend. His new book tells me all I need to understand about his faith in that he is wrestling with God as we all are. Remember J.P. has been adamant about there being a crisis of meaning in the world. I can not think of a better source of meaning than in the Holy Bible, and Peterson is the perfect person to interpret meaning.

Understanding is better than assuming, and knowing is always better than believing. Faith, by definition, is not certainty, even if someone claims self-certainty in their faith.
There are 3 types of truth. 1) physical truth/reality, 2) group 'reality', and 3) personal truth/reality. Types 2 and 3 include rationalized delusion and false faith.

There were those who died before Christ walked the earth. We understand from scripture that many of them attained salvation. Tough question, but I think that anyone who has heard the gospel and outright rejects it is outside of God's grace. For those who have never heard, there are indications in scripture that they may be able to follow Christ anyway, although this must be a harder way to go or we would not be instructed to tell others about him.

Man I love Jordan, right when you guys start, with the meat of the conversation it ends, Eric you need to talk with him longer, Jordan was saying basically, yeah Christ does not seem crazy because he gives glory to the Father. Yes? And maybe that’s it the natural man apart from the in-dwelling presence of the spirit of God, cannot understand that Jesus Christ took on the form of a man, he walked like a man, talked like a man? But, he was, and is God, no wonder he referred to himself as the Son of Man. To the natural man’s mind this is considered foolishness. But, to a few people that a very smart naturally , that are apart from God, they know know something is truly, well true, all they need is to receive, be born again and that’s when your spirit and soul align, and if you let him The Lord will indwell you.

When people have to be continually reminded that the most basic choices will dictate everything else that happens. I think many believe someday they'll hit the lottery so to speak.
They make a conscious decision to continue living in a detrimental way, regardless of the short term effect. In the delusional hope that somehow it will payoff someday? Just from a mathematical standpoint, acting one way and expecting a different outcome to happen by chance. Seems improbable.
My son likes to think he's doing "good". Makes $37 an hr. Yet has no physical possessions whatsoever. Rents an apartment, leases a car. And blows the rest of every check he earns on the "high life". Doing "good" he says.
If I even attempt to discuss the situation with him, he blows up. Says he doesn't have to listen or talk to me, and hangs up the phone. Narcissistic behavior has become the norm in our society. He feels superior to most people around him, so justifies his behavior by basically denying there's even a problem. This is the norm now. As long as he has that job and can keep feeding the beast. It makes everything else he does justified. I can't stand to even be around him. Completely obnoxious entitled behavior at all times. Basically he's turned into nothing but a bully.

I like Jordan Peterson because he speaks well, and he tries very hard to understand the problems of life and help people. He has practical ideas. But he is very dangerous when it comes to spiritual matter, because his advice will lead to a works based satisfaction and righteousness. This is precisely the wrong place God leads us. In fact, God leads us to see that we cannot do the works of righteousness and goodness. This is the essence of our sin. God never called us to self improvement. The laws that he recognizes in this speech are meant to point us to our inability and from that to look to a Savior. And with the spirit of God, in our hearts, then, we flourish in good, works, led by the spirit. So absolutely the works, will come and are necessary, but it’s important to recognize that they flow from faith, which is the spirit of God inside of a person.
Sadly, Jordan Peterson‘s analysis will always be psychoanalytical. Therefore it is inherently limited. And it will ultimately point people, even if he points them to a God, to a personal righteousness of people to satisfy them. And that will do them to judgment.

Eric, I think you let Jordan talk too much. The way he processes information verbally is brilliant to the point where he circles back on himself and starts following his own tracks. Rebirth is not a process, as Jordan seems to think. It's an event. There is a process that leads to the event, but the process does not equal rebirth in Christ. In the book of Acts Herod Agrippa was "almost persuaded," but not quite.
