    Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use
    Fair use
    Additionally, the fair use defense to copyright infringement was codified for the first time in section 107 of the 1976 Act. Fair use was not a novel proposition in 1976, however, as federal courts had been using a common law form of the doctrine since the 1840s (an English version of fair use appeared much earlier). The Act codified this common law doctrine with little modification. Under section 107, the fair use of a copyrighted work is not copyright infringement, even if such use technically violates section 106. While fair use explicitly applies to use of copyrighted work for criticism, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research purposes, the defense is not limited to these areas. The Act gives four factors to be considered to determine whether a particular use is a fair use:
    the purpose and character of the use (commercial or educational, transformative or reproductive);
    the nature of the copyrighted work (fictional or factual, the degree of creativity);
    the amount and substantiality of the portion of the original work used; and
    the effect of the use upon the market (or potential market) for the original work.[4]
    The Act was later amended to extend the fair use defense to unpublished works.

    Close fight. Ali sold tickets and was good for the sport displaying incredible hand and foot speed for a heavyweight. How can you not like Earnie Shavers, some say the hardest puncher ever and one hell of a nice man. I wished Earnie would have won a championship, he was so close a couple time's.

    Ernie Shavers, fought from 1969 to 1995. A two-time world heavyweight contender. One of the hardest punchers in heavyweight boxing history. He had 91 fights and 70 knockout wins, including 23 in the first round, with only 14 loses some of them were Very close also had one draw.
    He hurt Ali in the second round and knocked down Holmes in the seventh round. Shavers defeated former world champions Vicente Rondón, Jimmy Ellis, and Ken Norton, as well as three-time European heavyweight champion Joe Bugner and top heavyweight contender Jimmy Young. Ernie never won the heavy weight title.But he had the heart of a champion! RIP Mr.Shavers.

    Incredible fight. That's 2 guys who gave their absolute all for 15 rounds. Ali still had the ring and fight smarts to know how to win. In my opinion Ali actually lost but as they say hindsight is always 20/20. Truly an epic fight for the ages. I gotta say seeing Ali use every aspect of his boxing knowledge was amazing, he knew how to put together combinations and when to play possum to make the judges and the crowd see it in his favor. It was 77' and Ali still could control all aspects of the fight. Gotta say my respect for the man has grown but is truly solidified after watching this fight. Thanks for downloading a truly significant moment in the history of the sweet science.

    As he came out of the dressing room, he said I shall destroy. He very nearly did!
    He truly had the heart of a Lion.
    And that’s taking nothing away from Ernie (the razor) Shavers. An awesome warrior and a good man.
    RIP Ernie you were something special.

    Ali proves in this fight just how great he was - without a doubt the greatest of all time. In this fight, he was nowhere near as fast as he was before being jailed for draft evasion. Yet he could still outbox sluggers and show remnants of the speed that made Sonny Liston look foolish. Great respect and admiration for Shavers as well. The 15th round showed what made Ali so tough and special.

  • @michaelwilks6268
    @michaelwilks6268 8 месяцев назад

    That first really hard shot in the second round. The one that profoundly wobbled Ali and buckled his legs that was a hell. And I believe contributed to his illness in later life. But that's neither here nor there. Because most men would have been felled by that shot and never gotten up. Because Shavers or the "Acorn" as Ali playfully referred to him. Had two Mack trucks for hands, and usual, all he had to do was touch somebody, and they went tumbling to the canvas as if they were struck by a fast-moving destroyer. That's why Ali said afterward that he took this fight to late in his career. That's how devastating those blows and intensity of that fight was to him. If Erinie had possessed a better chin and didn't suffer from the syndrome that most men with big muscles suffer from. Conking after to much sustained activity. It happened to Foreman during his fight with Ali in Zaire. Big muscles do not equate to being a great fighter. Upper body strength and fluidity of movement are.

    Ali says Shavers hit him harder than the other biggest fist bombers like like Sonny , Frazier , & Foreman but i think its cuz this is later in his career because even tho he kept winning battles, after all those bombs he took from the two fights with Sonny , Foreman & they 3 with Frazier, i seriously think after the Thrilla in Manilla fight his body was seriously going down hill & then Shavers & finally the two Spinks fights & Holmes fight could have saved his body from all that permanent damage to his body & nervous system & he might have lived a longer life because he was already beginning to talk slow after the Manilla match he almost died in that fight along with the 3rd bout with Smokin Joe he should he retired after that cuz he got nothing out of it he is the Greatest but to be the greatest, u gotta sacrifice& eventually lose everthing including your life & thats the only thing i didn't enjoy seeingbAli do but Mike Tyson did Avenge Ali by whoopin Holmes & then Spinks so he took both they're pride with his away just by talking to his protege & favorite kid boxer over the phone & was avenged💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 thank u Kid Dynamite!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤

      Yes indeed, that was to be Ali's last successful title defence of his entire career as heavyweight champion...
      And the fact that Muhammad Ali had the balls of brass to even take on a killer like Ernie Shavers that late in his career speaks on the kind of worrior Ali was...
