Larry was definitely not at his best in this fight. His body was getting heavier with age, and I think the adjustment period caught him at just the right time. Both men were crafty fighters, but, in my opinion, the challenger really needs to TAKE IT from the champ ... I respect Michael Spinks, but I still think you need to do more to take the championship in a close fight against a great champion ... You can clearly hear how biased the commentators were and the crowd were worried about Marciano's record .... I was never convinced or satisfied with this fight. However, Larry was clearly past his peak ... Always sad to see that, but that's boxing.

he was in prime from 80 to 82 he probably then would have beaten spinks

Larry was absolutely robbed in the 2nd fight.
Larry had a second go round and fought competitively up until 2002 and looked faster then he did in this fight
