Correct. This was Holmes breaking point. Yes, the Cooney thing was messed up. Madison AVE gave Cooney the endorsements. Cooney was on Ryan's hope soap opera and on the cover of Time Magazine with Stallone.
Check out his hall of fame induction speech, 2008. He's still bitter and angry. Kinda sad. I think this man is in the top ten greatest heavyweights of all-time.
It is hard for people to overcome that trauma. Remember, Holmes did not win a gold medal like Ali, Frazier, and Foreman. After losing to Bobick in the Olympic trials, he was labeled a quitter and a dog. Big people in the boxing industry stopped him from getting sponsors like Gil Clancy. Al Braverman and Paddy Flood were trying to get him bumped off early in his career. Then you throw how the president supported Cooney along with television, and Madison AVE. Holmes family was racially harassed because of the Cooney fight. An old lady told him she wish he would die because he defeated Ali. Ali speaks out against the Vietnam war and he becomes a legend. Holmes speaks out against apartheid and no one cares. Holmes gives up a 12 round belt for a 15 round belt and is slated to unify with Gerrie Coetzee. Instead we blame Holmes for not defending against Greg Page. When McGuire (sic) was on the path to break Maris's record, the Maris family supported him. Pete Marciano didn't support Holmes tying his brothers record.
He was and still is an envious man. Nothing new under the sun... But he still owns a record nobody can't take away from him: he's the first HW to have lost the belt vs a LHW!

Best jab I’ve ever seen.. Better than Ali, better than Liston.. Only Joe Louis was better, at least that’s what the old-timers say.. The Easton Assassin.. 20 title defenses..
The whole 49-0 thing never made any sense to begin with. Marciano won the title at 43-0 and defended it 6 times. The defenses count alot more imo. Not saying Rocky fought bums before he won the title, but if someone did, and beat 42 of them, what does that prove exactly? Holmes defended his title successfully 19 times over 7 years. Who cares about 49-0!
exactly great point!!! If Marciano was so great why retired after only defended his belt six times. Marciano saw what was coming and didn't want any part of Patterson and Liston that's the truth!!!
***** he only fought for seven years majority of great fighters were undefeated after seven years of fighting, so 43-0 isn't impressive and he beat up on old men and bums!!
+Dylan Murphy lol all the greats would have been undefeated after seven years of fighting. Ali, louis, Holmes, and a host of others were undefeated after seven years of fighting. Marciano doesn't have one significant victory, and he ducked Patterson and Liston. Marciano preferred fighting old legends and bums, not a top ten Heavyweight!!
Larry was salty he didn't get the respect after Ali. Didn't help Iron Mike was the next one after him either. Luckily he's gotten the respect he deserved
Much respect to Larry Holmes one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. Very underappreciated. His biggest flaw was his unfortunate timing of following Ali. This press conference was not one of his greatest moments. Having just had his first career loss, I'm going to give him a pass. When I was 18 yrs old, in November, 1984, I was at Caesar's Palace and saw Larry and his entourage going through the casino. It was the night he beat "Bone-crusher" Smith at the Riviera. Someone in Larry's entourage was yelling "The Champ is Here! The Champ is here!" Great memory!!!
Cut Larry some slack. Was never appreciated when he was fighting. He had Marciano's family slamming him in the papers all week. Then he loses a decision that most champs of 7 years would have gotten. By this point, you're looking at a very bitter man and not unjustifiably so. He says some dumb shit here, but he just went 15 rounds that night and lost his belt. No one ever seemed to want to speak out on his behalf, so he sometimes went overboard in his need to remind everyone how good he was. And let's face it, Marciano never would have beaten Larry and I'm Italian.
JohnLoCicero True, but his big mouth always got him in trouble. Holmes's worst enemy was his outlandish mouth. He always played the jerk for the media.
We are talking about 2 Different Era's Marciano was great in his time but he would've lost to a few Fighters in their Prime Muhammad Ali, Holms George Forman and Mike Tyson he would've been to light for each of these fighters and never fought any one with their skills. But not taking anything away from him he also had a controversial decision one fight but I believe his record as a heavyweight will not be broken but Wilder has the best chance
This is the rant of a man who was offended by years of being the second man, first to Ali and then to Rocky. Holmes, as a quiet soul (for the most part) just wanted what anyone, who would have been fighting professionally, wanted, RESPECT. He couldn't buy it with his winning streak, title defenses or the like. A great champion, but like most of us, a flawed human being! Unfortunate.
leo powers I would agree with that post, if not for the candor so long about which belt was the 'true' belt of the HC. Many stated to be the champ, you had to beat the champ... well the champ was Ali and he beat him good. He acquired the most significant belts of his time and was stripped because of politics, let's be honest. After winning the HC, his only focus was chasing dollars, which returns the conversation back to R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Unifying the belts, getting Rocky's record, none of these achievements would have acquired Holmes the recognition he was seeking, for he was the villain whom ended 'our' great champions reign, ALI. He was hardly ever forgiven for that.
+leo powers The heavyweight division outside of Larry Holmes holding the WBC was a circus. Larry Holmes was recognized as the lineal heavyweight champion by fans, critics, and most importantly, by the Ring Magazine. I remember Mike Weaver holding the WBA title back then. I liked Mike Weaver a lot, but he was definitely not considered an equal champion to Larry. Weaver was a tough opponent against Larry, even knocked him down during their match, but Larry knocked Weaver out. Overall, the WBA heavyweight title was a 2nd. rate championship belt back then.
I don't blame Larry at all. The media just never warmed to him. He's kept his fortune, his family, a truly great and grossly underated heavyweight. The media just was not ready to forget Ali ( I mean who could?) and Larry was just frustrated.
It takes a helluva fighter to be humble, keep his mouth shut, and not bring up another fighters success and insult his memory. Holmes embarrassing loss has nothing to do with Marciano and it was unnecessary to bring up his brother.
I am a fan of Rocky Marciano.... but I back Larry on this. Peter was rooting against him. That was disrespectful. Rocky would have publicly supported Larry's effort to break his record. Larry was lashing out not just at Peter here though, but at a history of disrespect. Thankfully history has been kinder to Larry and now he has the respect as an all time great. Hopefully Larry sees that, even if he feels his place in history should be higher. That's just the ego of a champion. Rocky had it and so does Larry. They would connect on that, especially with Rocky 25 years removed from competition. Also both fighters would understand not getting their just due. Both fighters were heavily criticized. Rocky perhaps more so than any heavyweight in history. Yes Larry got out of line with the jockstrap quip. But given the context one could understand why he said it. Larry's point was: "Hey you can criticize Rocky too." It's too bad it all went down like this and hopefully both sides mended the fences.
James Brice IS that why he is close friends with virtually everyone he fought, even Gerry Cooney whose team and even himself engaged in a racist prefight buildup? Is that why Larry is very cordial with his fans? Is that why he was perhaps the only boxing champion who personally visited his own forum to offer his remarks to people he did not know? Larry was badmouthed by Peter Marciano Sr before Larry badmouthed him. That was classless of Peter to so publicly root against Larry and so loudly cheer his loss to Spinks when Rocky would have offered his unequivocal support of Larry's effort to make history. Holmes is a loser? Okay I refuse to waste further time on an intellectual midget such as yourself. What have you done with your life other than troll youtube videos of a fighter you claim to hate?
rwalfrey I disagree....I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting your brother to keep the record, obviously he's proud of that. But I do think he should have kept that to himself
topmech71 I don't think there is anything wrong with hoping your brother keeps the record but not only should Peter have kept that himself he should have openly supported Larry's effort to make history. In that same situation I know I would have supported Larry. I think you can maintain pride for your brother's accomplishments yet stand in respect and support of what Larry was on the brink of achieving on not only a personal level but for it would mean for the African American community to share one of the most hallowed sporting records. Peter openly cheered the defeat and made is very well known he was hoping Larry would lose. Finally, everything I know about Rocky Marciano tells me he would have supported Larry.
This was a culmination of frustration for all of the BS people talked about him his whole career. They never have him his just do. One of the greatest!!

Larry Holmes is definitely a top 10 heavyweight; arguably a top 5. His problem was that at this point he was just way too used to winning, and didn't really know what defeat was like. Unfortunately, Holmes came across as arrogant and extremely bitter after Spinks beat him. I think he kind of needed a loss at this point. And he learned a valuable lesson. In recent years, Holmes owned up to his mistake and says he's put it behind him, so props to him!
Top 5 easily. Holmes in his mid to late 20's was a tall order for anyone in any era. When a guy well past his prime, still can take Holyfield, Mercer the distance, I can only imagine, what he would have done in his prime. Chin, endurance, hand speed, punch output. when you can get up from arguably the hardest punch I have ever seen, Holmes vs Shavers, and then win the fight...that is saying something. skill for skill, I have Ali at 1, Holmes at 2. but, that is just me.

Larry displayed no class here, but Larry was indeed the better fighter than Marciano. Larry would have out pointed Marciano without a doubt probably would have knocked the Rock out. Larry did apologized and felt bad about what he said, so let's give Larry the benefit of the doubt!!! Rocky never endured the racism that Louis, Ali, Jack Johnson and other great African Americans fighters had to deal with!! That's the TRUTH!!!
You are right Donald. Larry Probably beats Rocky, but this is an unfair comparison. Rocky was a great champion during his era, but in Larry's era he would have been a cruiserweight. Why compare the two directly?. You are also right about the racism that great African American heavyweights have endured. The racism that Jack Johnson endured was nothing short of a National disgrace. I believe we have come a long way since then.

You are wildly under-estimating him by giving these guys automatic wins against him. anyone thats read up on Rocky knows better
Moral of the story ------ don't upset Holmes or you will definitely get an ass kicking. One of the greatest ever. At his peak he was the equal of Ali , Louis or Tyson.
Interesting to see the whole speech after only knowing the quip - I think he was furious about the brother, the loss, and then realised that his mouth was running on anger. Love Larry - and Rocky. A man can say stuff in the moment but is more than just the moment.
Started angry then reeled it back in at the end :) great left hand jab in fact one of the best ive seen since starting to watch boxing in the early 70s.
It's obvious that Marciano's record meant an awful lot to Holmes and it was a bitter loss after seven years being world champion but Holmes was extremely rude to the beloved Marciano family and for that his legacy was permanently tarnished.
If Rocky had been alive and in the audience I'm sure he may have walked to the front and fixed Holmes good. I knew people that would of also, that could yank Holmes out of his socks.
The Legendary Larry Holmes. When asked after his defeat to Tyson how upset he was Larry's reply was..."I made 2 million dollars from this fight....that's nothing to sneeze at!" The way the man delivered his quotes always has me crying tears of joy. Such a great character.
I don't blame Larry at all for this. The media treated him like garbage for not being Ali and truth be told he probably got shitted on at least one decision against Spinks, maybe two. and Marciano's brother was free loading off his name and rooting against the man just to preserve his family ego despite the fact that he brought him to see the fight. After Ali, Holmes look fit, slick and strong. Truly professional. Defended his title 20 times, I rate him alongside Ali. People just never warmed to him.
Larry Holmes is one of 3 heavyweight champions who at his prime could have beaten anybody in any era, the other 2 being Ali and young Mike Tyson, the fact is that Rocky Marciano was a great champion hands down but he couldn't touch Larry Holmes with a 20 foot pole, the reason why Holmes didn't get the respect he deserved is because he came after Ali, but 20 defenses in what was the golden age of heavyweights is truly great, between the Ali era and the Tyson era there was the Holmes era……and he got robbed in the second Spinks fight
This is why you don't shove a microphone in a boxers face right after a fight. They are in an adrenaline dump if they aren't already suffering from minor concussions and you get stuff like this. "If I offended you so the f&%$ what...(5 mins later).... I apologize to anybody who has been offended by what I have said." "Rocky Marciano can hold my jock.... Rocky was one of the greatest fighters of all time."
+Sujit Sharma Rocky fought the best fighters available at that time. That's all that could be asked of him. And he beat most of them decisively. His only 2 close bouts were vs. LaStarza and Charles. He rematched them both and KO'd them both...decisively. Rocky's one of the most underrated champions ever IMO. Probably because his resume is one of the most unfairly judged. Larry Holmes' comments here are a prime example of this.
jimi hendrix That stuff about someone on press row had Marciano losing doesn't necessarily mean much. We had boxing judges in fights such as Canelo vs. Mayweather who felt it was a draw. Just because some wingnut goes against the grain doesn't make it legit. Everyone faces a stylistically difficult opponent at some time. I could go up and down Holmes' resume and give you multiple examples of guys who hurt him and had him in a lot of trouble. Overall I agree that Larry is underrated. I just don't think he's as underrated as Marciano.
Larry Holmes...... he never lost either fight vs Spinks. 100% somebody was trying to protect Rocky's record. Further, Had Larry Holmes fought Mike Tyson, with 60 days notice, even at his older age, he would have beat Tyson in that fight. I would bet on Larry Holmes in his prime vs ANY fighter in history. He never got his due. The best heavyweight of all time bar NONE.

Regardless Holmes would have handled Marciano easily, better all around fighter. Rocky would have had a difficult time fighting in the golden age of boxing, and rocky isn't the best white fighter that title belongs to Jerry Quarry. Jerry would have knocked out the rock
Eric, you are correct!!! Dempsey for sure would have knocked out Marciano, and Tunney would have out boxed Mariano. Marciano was fortunate that he fought in a weak era with old washed up fighters.
Eric, don't fool yourself Tyson would have handled Dempsey! My only problem with Dempsey is he was afraid/avoided black fighters.. A True /Real Champion fights all the best regardless of skin color. Ali fought them all in and out of his prime!!!
Donald Griggs I am talking about the vicious nature in the ring. Something to think about is most of these guys before the 80s didn't have the modern supplements most old time fighters would have been 15 to 25 pounds heavier. No doubt Larry Holmes was a great fighter. But you get tired of hearing over and over again, that Marciano fought old fighters. What could of he done, he fought who was there, never ducked anyone. Do you think Ali, Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey, always fought top notch fighters, go check some of their opponents boxing records, you will be surprise. And anybody who thinks Larry would of had an easy win over Rocky, you better think again.
Its true rocky beat an old Louis and old Charles and an old Moore way past their primes. Holmes was better fighter in every way whoever thinks different don't know shit.

Larry even had friends on ESPN who years later made edited historical biographies of his career. They didn't dare show this side of Larry. What a poor example of a role model he is.
+jimi hendrix Wrong again 'Hendrix', it was Frank Farrell a childhood friend of Marciano's...and his father (Farrell's) MAY have had ties to organized crime... AND (proven) he had nothing to do with Rocky's career at all! Also, don't use Jimi's name, it does a disservice to him!!
Larry Holmes held the title 7 years with 19 title defenses. Marciano only 6 title defenses, then quit before he had to fight Liston or Patterson or some other serious contender. Marciano's hype.
Larry's comments were obviously a PR disaster at the time and he's apologised 100 times for it. Comparing their standings in history for accomplishment, for me Larry Holmes is definately in the top 5 of all time, probably top 3. Possibly top 1. Holmes had 25 Title Fights. Marciano had 7, but I would still place him in the top 10 best ever. If it was a fight v each other in primes. I would predict Larry to give Rocky a boxing lesson and beat him on points. All guesswork though.
If he was a top 5 all time, shouldn't he have knocked out a light heavyweight? He didn't, and he lost...twice, and lost again and again later on. Not a top 5, or 10, or even 20. Someone who emerged during an interlude of talent in the HW division, and seriously over rated.

When I think about Holmes losing to Spinks, falling just one fight short of Marciano's record, I can't feel sad. And this press conference is why. Holmes didn't make himself sympathetic in defeat. He didn't lose with humility; he lost with bitterness, arrogance, vulgarity, and disrespect.
This is embarrassing. Holmes was one of our most skillful heavyweight champions. He did face some unfair and race-related indignities. But to stand up there and denigrate a dead man in front of his brother, as you belly-ache your plight, is anything but a class act.
I don't believe Holmes comments were so much directed at Marciano (he was asked about Marciano) as it was from his bitterness over the Cooney fight and his notion he got no respect as champion. Holmes grew up poor-and even at 26-0 saw little money until he became champ. Cooney made it to 25-0 against lesser, hand picked opponents (fighters that had names but well past their primes) and shot to fame and fortune and a #1 contender status largely on the "Great White Hope" premise. Leading to the fight Cooney had more interviews, more magazine covers and an entire floor reserved for him and his entourage at the hotel, and President Reagan had a private phone line installed in Cooney's dressing room in case he won. No provisions were made for Larry. Instead, Holmes got death threats from white supremacists that vowed to shoot him the moment he entered the ring.., had to SPLIT the purse 50/50 (remember-he's Champ) and called into the ring FIRST! As if Cooney was already Champion. There was talk about Cooney "Winning the Title for America!" Was Holmes not American???? Or maybe not "American" enough? Although Cooney was game, Holmes increasingly punished him during the fight - nearly sending Cooney thru the ropes on one occasion and a knockdown tossed in for good measure. Cooney was even penalized repeatedly for low blows. Yet, when the fight was stopped (Cooney's corner threw in the towel) Holmes would have been BEHIND on two cards had it not been for the deducted pts. Later Holmes reconciled w Cooney but I don't think he truly recovered from the racial hostility he felt from the public leading to the fight.
Holmes fought many stiffs before getting a title shot. He had one win over a top 10 guy - Ernie Shavers, before fighting Norton in 1978. So, he didn't have it much harder than Cooney in getting a title shot. After he won the title, he was careful in his selection of opposition. He actually should be thankful Cooney was overhyped - Holmes got a huge payday to fight a guy who was easier to beat than some of the guys Holmes never fought. He bs's when he says he fought everybody. He never fought Page, Dokes, Weaver, Coetzee, Thomas and Tubbs. From mid '83 until he lost to Spinks he milked his record to try and surpass Rocky Marchiano. He almost lost to a green Tim Witherspoon in May '83 then fought stiffs Scott Frank and Marvis Frazier, before abdicating the WBC title. The IBF title was given to him in early '84 and he cherry picked his opposition before almost losing to a green Carl Williams and then losing to LHW champion Michael Spinks, a man who had never in his career fought above 175 lbs. It was a cherry pick gone wrong.

Correct. This was Holmes breaking point. Yes, the Cooney thing was messed up. Madison AVE gave Cooney the endorsements. Cooney was on Ryan's hope soap opera and on the cover of Time Magazine with Stallone.
He was bland boring being the Champion coming after Ali...The Media got spoiled by Ali..And Holmes all he did is win..Thats all that matters.

You mean you emulated Ali’s style cause that’s where Larry Holmes got his style from.

Eddie Murphy cut him enough slack for all of us LOL
Marciano is overrated and Holmes is horribly underrated
JohnLoCicero True, but his big mouth always got him in trouble. Holmes's worst enemy was his outlandish mouth. He always played the jerk for the media.
gussstavo I Highly doubt it"!
Holmes always cracked me up
48-1 always cracks me up🤣
This is the rant of a man who was offended by years of being the second man, first to Ali and then to Rocky. Holmes, as a quiet soul (for the most part) just wanted what anyone, who would have been fighting professionally, wanted, RESPECT. He couldn't buy it with his winning streak, title defenses or the like. A great champion, but like most of us, a flawed human being! Unfortunate.
Ellis Marcelle A fine insightful post.
Ellis Marcelle I think Holmes would have gotten a lot of respect if he had shown any interest in uniting the heavyweight title.
leo powers I would agree with that post, if not for the candor so long about which belt was the 'true' belt of the HC. He was hardly ever forgiven for that.
leo powers He tried to against Gerrie Coetzee, but it feel through. No fault of Holmes.

Larry's point was: "Hey you can criticize Rocky too."
It's too bad it all went down like this and hopefully both sides mended the fences.

In that same situation I know I would have supported Larry. I think you can maintain pride for your brother's accomplishments yet stand in respect and support of what Larry was on the brink of achieving on not only a personal level but for it would mean for the African American community to share one of the most hallowed sporting records.

Chin, endurance, hand speed, punch output. when you can get up from arguably the hardest punch I have ever seen, Holmes vs Shavers, and then win the fight...that is saying something. skill for skill, I have Ali at 1, Holmes at 2. but, that is just me.

jimi hendrix
That stuff about someone on press row had Marciano losing doesn't necessarily mean much. We had boxing judges in fights such as Canelo vs. Mayweather who felt it was a draw. Regardless Holmes would have handled Marciano easily, better all around fighter. Rocky would have had a difficult time fighting in the golden age of boxing, and rocky isn't the best white fighter that title belongs to Jerry Quarry. Jerry would have knocked out the rock
Donald Griggs I think you forgot Dempsey and Tunney
Eric, you are correct!!! Dempsey for sure would have knocked out Marciano, and Tunney would have out boxed Mariano. Marciano was fortunate that he fought in a weak era with old washed up fighters.
Donald Griggs Really Dempsey and his viciousness makes Tyson look like a pussycat by comparison . And no one could handle his onslaught except Tunney.
Max Baer was also a bad ass when he actually put in an effort training. He was well known to be lazy like that too busy running with all of his whores.Schmelling was good too.
"I'm sorry if you took this out of context" LOL!
2:06 this man said if you really want get..Tech No..techno music?
Its true rocky beat an old Louis and old Charles and an old Moore way past their primes. Holmes was better fighter in every way whoever thinks different don't know shit.
Both good, but Rocky put them down. Larry a jab man.
@@edwardclement102 Not even Earnie shavers can knock larry out, marciando would be outboxed by larry
Larry was just frustrated that's all why they holding this against this man
Because he shouldn't have said what he said in the way he said it. That's why....
@LLCoolE Oh yeah?? .......... Fuck that punk because WITHERSPOON BEAT HIS ASS, and he shouldn't even have been undefeated as he approached Marciano's record. Got it now???
Let me tell you something, if Marciano caught Holmes with a right hand it would have been LIGHTS THE FUCK OUT!!!!!
Pressure got to him he should have beat Michaels like He did Leon.. When your on top nowhere to go but down
Larry even had friends on ESPN who years later made edited historical biographies of his career.
They didn't dare show this side of Larry. What a poor example of a role model he is.
Larry Holmes got robbed period
Secret Bears sugar In the second fight with spinks
I imagine Peter Marciano holding Rocky's big poster "49-0 43 KO" in front of everyone.
Truth hurts sometimes.
Larry did not have to go for the 50 and 0 record... But larry was brave enough to try and get it done...
This is what you called in the wrestling world a Heel Turn Lol Larry Holmes was a beast in his interviews when it comes to Rocky Marciano lol
Rocky Marciano said nasty things about Muhammad Ali so what's his brother talking about.
+adrian ollivierre Just wops trying to play the victim card.
+Husabceuoa Cieabcueoa Thanks a lot mate. That Holmes is a nasty piece of work.
+Husabceuoa Cieabcueoa so you are not a wop ?
Rocky Marciano though Ali talked too much. He never used any profanity and was class in every interview. You idiot!
Larry Holmes held the title 7 years with 19 title defenses. Marciano only 6 title defenses, then quit before he had to fight Liston or Patterson or some other serious contender. Marciano's hype.

MY RESPECT AND ADMIRATION FOR LARRY HOLMES HAS SHOOT THROUGH THE ROOF AFTER SEEING THIS ❤️💯
🍆
ProfRogers Rocky would never make the top 10!!! One other thing Rocky brother told a lie , Rocky talked shit about Ali I watched the tape.
@@ryandelmar7969 if you knew anything about boxing you would know how stupid you sound, next you will tell me Jerry Cooney ? Was a top rated fighter!!!
Frazier and Marciano were really light heavyweights. It took everything larry had to beat a 35 year old Ken Norton in 1978
Ken Norton was still a great fighter at that time. Maybe just a little bit past it.
Frazier was no light heavyweight..neither was Marciano for that matter
Frazier was really a light heavyeweght? Lmao!!!!! You are one of the biggest idiots in youtube history.
Frazier was 100% a NATURAL HEAVYWEIGHT. Much wider thorax and legs than Holmes, his frame was heavier and thicker. Jesus what an ignorat idiot
@@Bruins-vq5ey they were and they are still two of the best of all time. They told Frazier that he was too small to be a heavyweight so he couldn't get any management. Even after winning the Olympics. He went on to become a great champion BLIND in his left eye
@@fumo1317 they were not.. Frazier was a solid 200lb..no light heavyweight bubs
Larry got robbed in this fight.
did to
He should have knocked him out, then...being he was so awesomely god-given black and beautiful.
Yeah, I think he did, because if you watch how long Holmes lasted with Tyson, and stinks lasted with Tyson. Holmes got the most punches in on Tyson.
He didn't. He lost that bout clearly, the shock is that the refs actually scored it in the lesser-known Spinks' favour.
Yup he was robbed. Holmes like Hagler for some reason are not given the respect they deserve.
Holmes was totally robbed in the second Spinks fight.
Agreed, question is why didn't he fight Spinks with the same fervour in their first fight?
@@damatoslegacy9075 Spinks has an awkward style. Maybe it just took him two fights to figure out what to do.
Eddie Murphy talking at 14 .00
Holmes didnt show any character here....Just lost respect for him...such stupid racist nonsense.
+Mike ”Sugarhitman” What racist comments?
Larry told it like it was. Loved him when he was fighting. Larry Holmes does not kiss anyones ass.
Larry Holmes was great but couldn’t talk like Ali.
Yeah .. But who could?!
