Garth is such a good man. An example for all celebrities to follow. Take a minute with your fans, a smile, a quick chat, a picture. You never know what they are facing. One simple expression from you would be all it takes. Never forget the people who put you where you are. Because as quick as a snap of finger, you could be back down starting over again.

THERE ARE NO WORDS AT ALL THAT CAN REPLACE THE STRENGTH, COURAGE, AND DISPLAY OF LOVE AND COMPASSION THAT GARTH BROOKS GAVE CANCER VICTIM TERESA SHAW. "NEVER" IN THE HISTORY OF A CONCERT (OR AT LEAST THE HUNDREDS OF CONCERTS I'VE BEEN TO) HAS AN ARTIST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A SONG AND A CONCERT TO ACKNOWLEDGE A FAN. FOR HIM TO DO WHAT HE DID & GIVE HER HIS GUITAR WAS INCREDIBLE AND THE LOOK ON HER FACE WAS PRICELESS. GARTH BROOKS KNOWS ONLY TO WELL ABOUT CANCER SINCE HE LOST HIS MOTHER AND SISTER TO CANCER. EVERYONE ON MY FATHERS SIDE OF THE FAMILY, INCLUDING MY FATHER IS GONE DUE TO THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I MYSELF HAVE THE CANCER GENE IN MY BLOOD, HAVING IT TWICE IN MY ARM. WHEN HE TOLD HER TO GO AND KICK CANCER'S ASS, THAT WAS JUST BEYOND POWERFUL. """""G-D BLESS YOU GARTH BROOKS""""

I have watched the actual video of the concert she was at and then I read a lot of the comments. Through him making her night and doing what he did the amount of people with Cancer that watched that video, was effected positively, and then commented on the video is amazing. It shows by one kind act can effect so many others. A single kind act can NEVER BE TOO SMALL or too big. God bless Garth Brooks and everyone struggling with anything in their lives.

Folks... There are some amazing people out there... from normal everyday folks like us... to to brave people in the military, navy, marines, and other armed forces including the police force, fire departments around the world, and caregivers such as nurses and doctors... to people like Garth Brooks who as famous as he is didn't even need to do what he did but did so anyways for no other reason than to acknowledge a woman like Teresa Shaw and maybe give her that extra little push she unknowingly needed to keep on fighting the good fight.
God bless all those people big and small.

I have seen him twice in concert. 30 years ago I got two tickets behind the stage, row 15. Turns out row 15 was actually row 1 as they push the first 14 rows back so they can fit the stage. The tickets only cost $23 and the stage was flat as a pancake. There was only less than 10 feet from my seat to the stage. He came out right in front of my wife and I out of a piano. LOL I could have shaken his hand. There was 20,000 fans screaming their heads off. I felt like I was on the stage as I looked up and around. UNREAL. I saw him two years ago and had great seats again. Only $70 and other artists would have charge $500 for. His concerts are UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! He sang nothing but his hits and the huge 20,000 seat arena was ROCKING!!! OMG!!!!!!!! Hands down the best concert you will ever ever ever ever see. He is so freaking humble! He really cares about the fans and he knows what it is like to only have $5 in his pocket. NOT KIDDING!! He could easily screw the fans for $700 a ticket like the rest of the greedy assholes out there. He truly cares for his fans. One of the best stories is when he was starting out a guy who owned a bowling hall/casino/bar signed Garth Brooks to do some shows before he was known. He put on greats shows and soon he was discovered nationally. He won a bunch of awards at the Grammys and the guy who owned the bowling alley looked at his wife and said "guess we won't be seeing him again". Turns out Garth was booked to come back and do more shows at this tiny operations long before he hit it big. Guess who shows up at the bowling alley? The owner looks at him and says "what the hell are you doing here?" Garth looked at him and said you had me booked to do concerts. NOW that is the kind of man Garth Brooks is. Even though he was a massive star, he still came back to play at a dumpy bowling alley. He never forgot the man who gave him a shot when he was an absolutely nobody. If you ever have the chance, please please go see him. WELL worth the ticket and expense to see him. Just like this video, his humbleness just pours out of him and the fans just love him more because of it.

@@johncroft9888 when he went to Nashville the first time to try his luck getting a record deal he didn't have the money to get there. Before he left to head towards Nashville, a bunch of people at the bar that he played at regularly raised enough money to not only get him, his car and his guitar to Nashville, but to also be able to afford staying there until it happened. They all believed in him so much.
Unfortunately when he got there he realized that there are a whole bunch of people in Nashville trying to do the same exact thing as he was. He went from being a huge fish in a small pond to being a guppy in a vast ocean.
He learned a harsh truth when he was there. He was so ashamed because he felt like he let everybody back home down by not getting a recording deal. He had left his wife and everyone he knew back home. He was so afraid to go back home and face all of these people who he felt he had failed.
As fate would have it, when he was in Nashville he met Trisha Yearwood for the very first time. Someone he had met there thought that the two of them would sound really good together. So this guy convinced another guy who had a studio to let them come in and record a song together. The two of them hit it off but knew that nothing could happen because Garth was married. Fast forward 30 years, give or take, and the two fell in love and got married. I believe their first professionally recorded and produced duet was "In Another's Eyes" which was on one of his albums.

    • @doctortow6244

Rachel, if you get the chance you definitely need to catch one of his concerts. I have seen him in concert a few times, and I must say it was the best concert I've ever been to. I went 3 times in 3 states to his stadium tour back in 2015-2017. I think that was the year range. The first one was center stage, row 5. I took the chance to turn around and face the audience after one of his songs (I believe it was Ain't Goin' Down Til The Sun Comes Up). I just wanted to feel the rush that he feels looking out into a crowd with that level of excitement. I will tell you this. If you ever get a chance to do that at a concert, take the opportunity. It was an amazing feeling to have that level of power coming towards you. I believe that it was something close to 70 or 80 thousand people. I can't even imagine what Live at Central Park felt like with over 300 thousand people screaming and cheering.

Sounds to me like you're jealous of her because Garth did that. Or you're just mad at her because she "made a big deal about it" according to you. It's not all about money. People don't need money to feel better, if you're nice to others and do the right things they will feel better and I'm sure Garth made her feel amazing because of what he did. There are some things money can't fix, and he was letting her know that he believes she'll beat cancer and God will give her the strength to do so. No money involved.
