It's not too often you would see her 4's idle animation because most people are going to be sprinting/bullet jumping like mad tenno. Took the words right out of my mouth! I've been watching these eagerly, most of them several times. SocraTetris, you are a gem to the warframe community and it's rich lore that is often underappreciated. But more than that, you're a great source for myths, legends and philosophy, that I have had way too little knowledge and appreciation of. Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see you take on the Duviri Paradox!

Credits he lets slip that he could buy, with that money, a new B-(ody) he cuts off right at the first letter but you can guess what he means. But here in Vorunas case he seems to have more intimate knowledge of Continuity...
Impressive, The mix of lore reading and philosophical interpretations within the lore is awesome and clever. I want to learn more about philosophy and you made me more inclined to study it.

honestly these smaller lore stories have enough content to make an amazing cinematic quest, imagine playing voruna trough all this, her 4 wolves roaming around with you until the final battle against the void beasts while trying to stop the stuck up orokin. the stories are nice and all but its these kind of things that expand the universe, a shame its just a story tho
I always imagine what these stories would be like if Warframe wasn't a Games as Service and more of an anthology series. Pity anthology games tend not to do too well. Kinda wish there the warframe fan community made more fan games. We could see things like that
@SocraTetris at this point I feel like we need a TV series that goes over all these stories like voruna, khora, the death of the orokin during the beat of the Naga drums, the rising of the corpus. There's so much potential in warframe from stories that have already been shown trough scanables, but I guess DE doesn't have any interest in those smaller stories when they can make things like duviri
@@Abrax3s i think a tv series or animated series would lose a certain quality. Serialized or long form stories require a certain amount of making this explicit, but Warframe revolves around mysteries and things left unsaid. The Warframes don't speak, and just having the tenno speak over the radio all the time makes the warframes less alouf
@muran mana I thinn so too. Have the POV of some other character that's not a warframe. Like one of the kids from Yarelli or Nezha's stories. Trying to resist, almost failing or paving the way for help to arrive, then here comes the warframe at the climax.
I devour your videos like Grendel. Very insightful analogies that make me rethink everything in this game. I patiently wait for these videos and its worth the wait!
I suppose we can consider the reason the Thrax take on the appearence of the Dax because of the relation with them and the tenno, and why they do not match the descriptions that Tuvul experienced
That seems to be as good a reason as any. The Leverian does speculate that Thrax appear as reflections of the viewer. Makes you wonder how the Holdfast or Dominus see the Thrax.
Okay, now I KNOW you don't pay full attention. because I said "without throwing it in our faces." As in you have to actually go looking for it. Why are you here, Thomas? You don't seem to like anything
Forgive me, I'm a little slow on the uptake with the Warframe lore. I don't fully understand what Voruna was before she became fused with her wolves. Was she a human? What exactly kept her hard bound (loyalty) to her 'masters'? And after fusing with the wolves, did that turn her into a warframe? Or is the warframe just a recreation of her character? All I know is, yesterday was my first time playing Warfarme in 6 years. And when I saw Voruna, I fell in love with her visual design and theme. She feels like a spiritual successor to Valkyr though. Like, she does similar things (kinda) but just better. haha
@@SocraTetris You're no fun. :P But for reals though, I just went through a recap of the main story events. Turns out the last story event I personally played before my long break from the game was "The Sacrifice" when Lotus leaves us. Rewatching the quest for Excaliber Umbra was nice. That is actually a person in it. And when I read descriptions for various Warframes, they all have a dark backstory unique to them. Like Valkyr being captured and tortured. But that Valkyr is not the same Valkyr as the one we get to play as right? I'm not trying to be dumb, but from my perspective, each warframe's initial existence was a suit/hybrid with a real person. And then the ones we use in the game itself are technology recreations of the frame itself, minus the original tragic person once within it. Is that close or am I missing it still?
So it is purposefully vague as to where the line is. Umbra is unique in how self conscious he still is, but The Sacrifice describes the relationship between the tenno and the warframes true for all of them. Recovering warframes is essentially recovering the dead and rebuilding the bodies to new life. A warframe doesn't need a tenno to exist, but they both need the other to live well. Valkyr is unique as well, in that they are a result of Alad V experimenting with warframe bodies and making a consciousness in a rudimentary way. How much of valkyr is original or composite? Same question could be asked of Xaku. it is an interesting part of lore to keep in mind. So to answer your previous comment's question, Voruna was a warframe. Before a warframe, Voruna was a person, likely a dax, that transformed into a warframe by an archimedian using void-technology (Lora Drives) and Technocytes (the bacteria/virus thing that became The Infestation). Between Stalker and Umbra, just having knowledge of the lives of each warframe, we can generally assume that there is some degree of consciousness in there. But given... idk how to call it, 'quietude' by the tenno. Like the quieting of the monkeys of the mind in Buddhism. (I explain it better in my Sekiro video).
One thing I don’t understand is did Orokin use Tenno as Yuvans! The worm queen said dreamers were used which I thought means Tenno but the only time I know of that happening was the queen and us.
The transference chambers were originally used for continuity, for putting orokin consciousness into the children's bodies. It would be repurposed to channel the tenno"s mind into the warframes. Using the transference chamber is like sleeping/dreaming. So "dreamers" refers to anyone using the chamber. Likely it was a name for candidates for transference before it waa applied to the tenno. But also remember that tenno controlling the warframes was not public knowledge. So its not just another word for Tenno.
Haven't made the Duviri video yet, I'm afraid. I'm finishing this project of releasing 100 video game essays first. Then I'll do another Warframe. if yoi followed the playlist, then you're all caught up
Hi something I couldn't understand well, so Voruna transformed to a warframe not only once but twice ??, First time with infested tech and th second time with the continuity rituel ? and she was the whole time operated or was she self consious like Kullervo, until she was transformed with continuity then she was united with the tenno ? I say that cause I ve seen her storie from 4 sources and each source said something, 2 sources stated that she was self conscious unti continuity, the other source stated that she was getting controlled from a long distance then somehow the operator got switched, and what I ve understood from your video the operator controlling was the same one about to get killed, but at the same time Voruna expressed emotions wich warframes really don't if they are piloted. sorry if my question is long but couldnt find any clarity to it and so far you are the only one that I think covered well her lore.
So the relationship between the Warframes and the Tenno is a secret that only a select few people knew about. Not even the tenno knew themselves until The Second Dream. Voruna had 4 guard-wolves that she worked with, but during the continuity, she used the red kuva and merged with them (as it was a hasty/botched contuity, it didn't completely overwrite her.) So she was a warframe before the incident, and a warframe after, but now with 4 wolf souls inhabiting her warframe body along with her. As for which tenno was in control at the time, this is unknown. But the transference chamber is there. Executor Tuvul intended to continuity into the tenno body to take control of Voruna rather than die. But he died instead.
@@SocraTetris Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. The relationship between Tenno and Warframe is still a mystery since (DE) didn't expand on it much, and they still hesitate to answer certain questions. However, from what I understand, back then, Voruna did have her own thoughts, but she was mostly guided by the Tenno since you told me that the ritual didn't completely overwrite Voruna but also as you said the Tenno didn't know themselves so yes maybe the tenno is the one who expressed emotions since the tenno thought that he or she was Voruna. Well, let's hope that these speculations will be answered in Warframe 1999 or the future Stalker update. Thank you, and soon, I might start watching your other Warframe videos and compare them with other lore RUclipsrs.
Please do! As for Voruna's own thoughts, you're right that it's a bit vague there as well. There is evidence from Excalibur Umbra, Rhino Prime, Dagath and Kullervo in an upcoming video that they still have their own thoughts/awareness. But it's unclear if that is true of qarframe in general or just certain warframes that retained memories
@@SocraTetris I'm excited to see your upcoming video. Kullervo's lore is one of my favorites, alongside Voruna's. It would be awesome if every warframe of the Leverian Museum acted independently to make them look badass and cool. There is one more thing I want to add, I know I can be a bit annoying, sorry about that. But from what I understand from Kullervo's lore, not all first-generation warframes were failures. Some worked as intended, while others were defective. The Orokin decided to destroy the defective ones and keep the normal ones. Kullervo didn't help his fellow defective warframes, which is why he got the cowardice charge. It's unclear if all warframes turned against the Orokin during the war, or if some chose sides. If there was a side choosing which I think happened or some warframes didn't care and went on with their duties, it means not all first-generation warframes were lost or lobotomized. Since the continuity ritual was present since the Orokin era, and it was done since the first generation of warframes, it's more likely that Voruna was like Kullervo. She was the only warframe protecting the Orokins during the ceremony and wasn't piloted. As stated in the story, what they protected and swore to protect was wrong. So, maybe Voruna didn't like what she was doing deep down and waited for the right time to strike. From Kullervo's lore, we learn that the new generation of warframes came with the Tenno, and they were both strong, with potential in them. Kullervo, along with other factors( actors), raised the rebellion against the Orokin. That's why he got the espionage charges, as he whispered to both Tenno and warframes. The warframes were the first generations and the new ones that were maybe independent of the Tenno or just needed a Tenno to calm them or guide them. So maybe that's why Voruna went after the whole Yuvan clan afterward. Well sorry if the comment is that long it's my last and I won't bother with anymore ty for your answers and hope you consider my last comment on this video ty.
I think that is an interesting idea, but the lore is just vague enough that we can't really say one way or the other. The tenno rebellion is still a pretty big mystery, and first gen warframes are the same way. I do talk about these a bit in the upcoming Kullervo video, but likely not going to give you a hard answer. Being able to make headcannons with warframe's story is part of the fun!
