- I found a 18k chunky gold ring on the beach. Dave, Brad, Mike and I metal detecting Corona Del Mar State Beach in Newport Beach, California. We all found a little jewelry and a few coins on a rainy day in March of 2023.

Hey Jim I came down south for a family thing and stopped by Bolsa Chica and that beach is no joke like you said, I stole one of your dimes and cleaned up a lot of trash. But that beach isn't an easy dig. Some jerk was leaving holes everywhere and leaving the trash so I picked up his trash finds and filled some holes he dug.
Now you know why I hunt during and after windy days, blows the dry sand off making it easier to hunt. They have been working that beach lately too, moving lots of sand around after flooding washed out the north side parking area. Hoping you have better luck next time. Thank You 👍

That's a beautiful ring, I found one exactly the same in 2020 with the H on top and 7 small diamonds in the H. Weighed over 15grams had 750 hallmark but after testing it was only 9ct or 9k, not my heaviest but is a beautiful ring anyway. All the best Jim looking forward to the next video 😊👌

Love that ring! Found two chains Sunday and a SLQ. Unfortunately the chains, although marked 18K, where junk.

Ey Jim A few weeks ago when we were having those big storms. You guys were detecting where the sand cuts were 12-15 feet high. My question is How do they replace that much sand the length of the beach???
Mother nature does it over night some times, usually it only takes a change in current to add sand back on the beach. Like laguna one day could be all rocks and the next sanded it. Understanding how the sand moves makes for a great metal detectorist.

Have you had issues with the 900 coil/lower shaft rotating when hitting the sand/tall grass? I've really tightened the cam lock and it still seems to lossen and rotate. I think the WYDI a silver ring. HH
Call Minelab, I know that I have had a few friends have similar issues and they sent him new parts to help with his issues. But I have not experienced any issues with my 900 yet! Their warranty programs is very good. great answer, Thank you! 😎👍

The trick to the beach where they want to charge you a fee for filming. Is that you don't fill out a form, you tell them it's for personal use, and then you name the video "personal use video at public Beach"😅

Havent watched the full video but curious Do you try and reunite the jewellery with the owner? My husband got me a detector for Christmas and I told him i hope I find someone's ring and be able to give it back. Definitely will not find what you do though!!
without names, dates or something that can identify a person; returns are hard. All I can do is post on L&F sites and hope for the best. Thank You 👍 If you husband keeps detect he will eventually find several rings.

Your missing out with the legend sir.... I'm finding 2ft plus beach targets with my legend...I own 3 of them now because of this
I have tried the legend, it just cannot handle the sands of Sunset Beach near where I live. The Equinox can barely handle those sand either but I have tried the legend it is a good machine though I prefer to use the Nox over all others.

So do you fill in your holes you dig or just move on and not fill them back up ???
Always fill your holes, the only time I don't is when the ocean did it for me. Also, layering out and area with lots of targets may appear we are leaving holes open but we are just layering out the sand to expose even more targets deeper down. When done we smooth in the area.
