I hope you can help me:
My little son whos 5, i think has 3A hair with some 3B hair and has Low porosity fine hair.
Unfortunately, I know nothing about curls because no one in our family has curly hair. I avoid SLS, all silicones, proteins, heat, washing too often, and only comb his hair when it is wet, from the tips towards the scalp, step by step, so as not to damage the curl structure, using deep conditioner once a week which is very lightweight, and rest of the week a hair conditioner for low porosity hair which is also very lightweight. I've noticed for a few weeks or months that his curls are getting straighter on the scalp and only the ends are curly and several strands of hair have lost their curl structure and are kind of frizzy. I thought it was due to build up because I don't use SLS, only mild shampoos, and use clarifying shampoo once a week or every two weeks so as not to damage his hair. Unfortunately, I don't know what more I can do because I lack the knowledge. I would be happy to receive advice and tips.

Hello, baring in mind that i can only give you my opinions i am not a licensed trichologist. I would maybe try implementing some sort of mask/light protein treatment. Curls need a protein/moisture balance to spring back into place. Maybe give that a go?
