  • In May PSA announced new slabs, and in recent weeks we've started to see that many of them have white cracks -- what PSA is calling "flow lines -- in them. PSA finally has an interim solution.

    The 1LR question.
    The basic answer
    1 is the type of plastic polyethylene terephthalate
    LR stands for light reflectance. It is a measure of the percentage of light which is reflected off of a given panel surface.

      Thanks for this. So what exactly is the measure of light reflectance?

    Seriously.... How much more of their crap are people willing to tolerate? The high prices, the ridiculous wait times, the inconsistent grading, the ugly baggies that hold the card diagonally, the plethora of altered cards in numbered slabs, the continued acceptance of submissions from known card doctors, the horrible level of communication, the failure to honor their so-called guarantee, the endless self-aggrandizing, and now this utter bullsh!t. The sheeple need to wake up and boycott them!

      Also not to sound like a negative Nancy, I just paid them or PSA 5 x $15 to reslab 5 cards. 2 of which were essential credentials /45 /16 and the fresh cases scratched and one you could press on it and it was unlike the other.

    The latest PSA announcement was about grader notes, and how PSA will make them available now. The problem is those notes will only be available to the person submitting the card for grading, and that person cannot those grader notes with anyone like a potential buyer for the card. My entire last order had these issues with flow lines along with orders prior. There's no way they just "overlooked" these after millions of slabs printed, PSA QA has plummeted. Not to mention a giant chunk of plastic was literally encapsulated on my last order as well and they even took a picture with it in there... waiting for a QA response.

    Flow line should be the least of their concerns. How about the fact they still upcharge AKA and still knowingly grade altered cards. Most inconsistent grading company. Throw in some POP report manipulation and a billion dollar monopoly that owns them. Grading has ruined the hobby in many ways. Collectors like myself can't get affordable raw copies of cards because they're all graded for the most part

    • @JunkWaxHero
      @JunkWaxHero  2 месяца назад

      Or they’re priced up because people would rather have raw than a 9 because raw still has a chance at a 10. Often cheaper to buy a 9 in ultramodern.

    Will the newest (August) slabs be designated the '1LR++' call-sign? Or, do we just pretend the '1LR+' experiment never happened? 😄
    This is a bit of a PR disaster for PSA': on the one hand, you can't blame them for trying to improve their products; on the other hand, you'd think that if you've been working on a 'new and improved' product for over three years, that it would actually be 'new and improved', and without defects, when you release it to market
    It looks like they'll be making things right by the customers, and rectifying the issue. We'll see how it all pans out.
    As always, thank you for keeping us up-to-date. 👍

    Psa honestly needs to have multiple options on slabs. Slabs with no subs should not be the only choice, but if a patron wants the sub grading let them have it for not much more. They are also ridiculous on their submission prices without a more detailed slab. They also need to add Ai to their grading, which takes out the factor of bias or someone having a bad day. Them changing their slabs slightly and people freaking out about it is not good for future changes. Without detail on the card, there needs to be a full explanation on why a card received the grade it did on their website when a person scans their card. They should have mentioned the changes to the slabs on the website or the magazine before it happened to ease every ones issues.
