That tool is called a tile cutter or tile nipper. If you resub I think you will still get an 8 if you are lucky (from the video I see minor surface issues). If you are submitting cards thicker than 55pt, usually the best you can hope for is a PSA9. Being that PSA9s usually sell for about the price of raw cards I would not resub.
I have a numbered Herbert optic rookie that I purchased from eBay as a PSA8. I would love to crack and resub because I think it could gem. My question to anyone who knows is if I crack a numbered card, will PSA recognize that they have already graded that card because of its serial number?

This is going to be the new normal. They don’t really pop open anymore. It’s like the plastic tears. Way more likely to damage a card now.

Texture alone would take it to a high 9 at best. Also looks slightly misaligned

I don't get "giving" PSA money to grade a card, and then Crack it open, only to spend money to have it graded again. Boycott PSA.

It’s not cool but i have to think it might only sell for $100 as an 8 but raw could go for over $200. If i crack and resubmit and get a 10 which i think it could, you’re talking big money. All part of the crazy game 😑

@@TheSportsCardTeachers I get your point. It just proves that PSA has far too much power over the whole card collecting hobby. 🙃

@@TheSportsCardTeachers Honestly cracking the new slab is very tough and hard. Anyone can easily damage the cards inside. I definitely need to upgrade my tools...
