Chigg, you have one of the most awesome collections, for sure. All the history that you have saved is just amazing. I applaud you. You have taken the time to get out there an discover so must of the past that would have been lost for ever. An you know as well as I, every piece tells a story of our past history. Your the best. Thanks for sharing it with everyone. An taking the time out of your life to find an preserve all the things you find. That in itself tells that your an awesome guy who's doing what he truly loves to do. As always safe an happy hunting.😁👍👍
Lol....love the mountain dew can....looks like you had a great summer.... Thanks for sharing...👍👍👍👍
Beau this was a recommended vid by youtube and wow it blew me away the amount of stuff you found so interesting and for gods sake it really needs to be catalogued and kept together for future research generations to come
Wowee
BEAU! All I can say is, you have done your research! I am in awe of all of the amazing finds. I can't believe how many beautiful finds you have there! I am envious!
So many be finds and now years of finds. You could supply all the museum's in the US with all that you've been able to find. Amazing! And still hard at it and making great videos. Big thumbs up!!
Awesome finds! I showed your video to my son and he is ready to go detecting now! :) We will watch your other videos. Thanks for putting these up!
Beau, I enjoy your videos and information. The Dew can gets close to my interest ... old beer cans. Me and a friend detect drained lake/river beds for cans and the best ones are usually buried in mud = no O2. They usually look like your dew can, toasted seams and discolored reds and oranges. Happy digging.
Sweet finds for Summer of '12. I watched all the video's up to this point so far and have seen you pull a large portion of these from the water(and a few land finds).
GL & HH
What a fantastic collection of ACW items, such a very varied lot and most interesting, so very well done, thank you for sharing with us ACW buffs!
amazing and the thing is its such a key part of your history. literally touching the past
Great finds! You find more in a summer than most find in a lifetime! Awesome.
like I have said before you are truly a talented man I love your videos keep making them cause im gonna keep watching them lol my wife gets so mad when I sit here for hours and watch your videos lol.. take care
You can clean the coins using the battery charger hookup you use for iron artifacts, I found table salt and a small piece of stainless steel work well. It improves the look of the coin without marring the finish in any way. Use a flattened alligator clip so the teeth don't scratch. You can also "whizz" a silver coin using liquid silver cleaner. It may dull the coin slightly but the patina will come back. Great videos, by the way.
Thank you boss for showing us those things what we never saw before
Thank you for the tour...... You have some really nice relics that I've never seen before. Thank You again, and I really enjoy your videos. Take Care, Stay Safe, and HH
That Mountain Dew can is awesome. I think I noticed another one on the table? I love old bottles and cans.
That's amazing! You've found some really great relics from Americas past! Great Job!! And Thank You For The Video I enjoyed It Immensely!!
The pistol is a H&R 32 cal I have one from the 70,s S&W .32 long .nice finds great video
Wow!!! Outstanding collection. Best I've seen. Excellent vids.
always great videos mate! keep em coming. cant belive the historic items just sitting at the bottom of the river!. i will be trying some of your techniques ive learnt watching your videos as soon as it warms up a bit more here! happy hunting!
Hey great finds Beau, I really enjoy your videos bud! Just waiting for the snow to melt up here in Canada so I can get back out there! The reason your US Belt Buckle and your silver coins turned blue is due to a chemical present in the water called Potassium Permanganate. It is used extensively in the water treatment industry. It's used to remove iron and hydrogen sulfide from well water and is used to control organisms such as Zebra mussels in fresh water collection and treatment systems. Dave

i remember that old Mt Dew logo on bottles when i was a kid in Kingsport, TN. Of course, Mt Dew was 'invented' at Tri-Cities Bottling (in Johnson City, I believe).
I'm impressed, well done video, a great show and tell.
Awesome video! Thanks a bunch for filming and sharing it.
Beau, You do an awsome job of presenting yourself as well as showing us how its done. Keep up the good work even though we all know it isn't work for us because it is what we love to do. Just bought my first Garrett AT Pro today.....Better be looking over your shoulder...LOL
That hewing axe at 4:30 is just an awesome find!
That's awesome! I can't wait to start searching, been putting it off for sometime now. Great video lookin forward to more. Thanks
Dude please take me with you This is Amazing, you can have a museum in no time !!!
Imagine the stories these items could tell!!
what a awesome haul .. love the silver coins .I would be happy with just 1 of them lol. and I like that arrowhead ..sweet
you were wondering about the weird purple color that you found a lot on those coins its the result of oxidization a common natural cycle of rusting or corrosion of the coins... the way I figured this out was you wear certain kinds of silver or gold and sometimes for a long while when you take your ring you that kinda weird discoloration of the skin where the ring was that's also a form oxidization as well...
The small round pewter piece with base you are holding up for inspection with the blue glass bottom is probably a candle holder.
Hey Beau, I forgot to congratulate you on the great write-up in the Garrett Searcher! You are a true MDing role model!
Nice finds. And good history lesson. I enjoyed it
Thanks
I really enjoyed watching you you should have your own TV show you really deserve it this is a cool thing you're doing
great video my friend very interesting with some awsome finds will be watching your videos regular from now on HH and best wishes,,pat
Wow. You found some Dowell Shells / Mullane Shells. I know someone who found one of those in a seaside cliff in Nova Scotia a long time ago.
Awesome to know you grew up in West Virginia, I knew there was a reason I liked your videos, keep up the great work (from a fellow DUB V)
Cool collection of stuff ;) ;) Thanks for sharing it with us all ;) ;)
Very cool. This is how treasures are found!
Thank you for the fast response. And yes that was exactly what I was seeing.
Wow ! You surely have a amazing collection of relics. ! Your vid
Great finds, I love your videos! Dont find much of that kind of stuff out here in the west.
I love metal detecting and this is just amazing!!! Nice video beau!!
Awesome finds man...u got a lot of stuff wish I could find that much lol
Thanks for sharing, always enjoying your videos!
That first pistol looks like an H&R model 929. Nine shot .22 LR. Great little pistols.
Wow!!!! Very nice finds. Love your videos.
Great finds. Could you tell me what the item is in the middle of the screen at 9:07 it looks like a reverse D with two spikes coming off of it. I found one of those here in the UK but have no idea what it is?
Also of you do anything to preserve your lead finds?
Thanks.
Damn.... you were real busy... congrats great findings!!!!
wow mann thats a really nice collection! I bet you have more than 40.000 dollars on that table! congrats!
Is it possible that the copper that is contained in the old coin and the belt buckle is "native copper"? Native copper is natural and has a small amount of impurity as compared to modern 100% pure refined copper. I metal detect here in the copper country of Michigan and find many native copper mineral specimens that form a purple and green patina when they have been buried in soil or underwater for a long time. The purple color is cuprite and the green color is malachite. This may explain the purple coloring you see on some of your artifacts.
Very nice spread of finds. Congrats.
I believe the pewter cup with the cobalt glass is an eye cup/glass. Used to apply medication to eyes.
hello sir i love your videos I'm interested in knowing and seeing the blacksmith tools you've found have you ever found a anvil
awesome finds man! keep it up, cheers from mexico!
great video and collection! learned a lot.
Even though this has been a few years since posting (now 4/18) the stories the artifacts tell remain fascinating & bring the old things back to life - Great job! :) But now, 6-years on, how do you have space for all this STUFF?! Or do you ever part with any of it?? Cheers!
Wow!! Awesome display of civil war relics. I was going to ask how you display everything you find, but this video provided me with the answer. You've found so many wonderful relics this past summer. For coins, I think they look better slightly cleaned, but not overly so. If they look like the average lot of change from someone's pocket, then this is okay. Cheers and thanks for sharing. GL & HH :D
Wow, That is quite the summer. Great finds and great video. just subbed you.
Brother Beau, I am AMAZED and envious of your finds,LOL, thanks for posting! I plan on doing some water hunting this year with my new AT Gold and the water can sometimes be pretty cold and of course you have to protect your feet in unfamiliar areas so what do you usually use for cold/foot protection? I was either thinking of using a wet suit with sneakers or chest waders, what do you find works best for you? Thanks RI_Jeff (The Mad Digger)
that purple glass cup thing, could it be an eye cup? I know they were used in the past and presently to treat eye distress. You would put medicine or rinse of some kind, put your head down to it and keeping against the eye, then straighten up, open your eye and swish around, then reverse and dry. huh! excellent videos thanks!!!!
Beau, i´d really like to see a tour of your relic room!
+Beau Ouimette man you fond some of the coolest stuff, all i find in florida is arrowheads and pottery
Great video. Was wondering what you use as treatment against rust on the iron relics? I have a few canon balls, bayonets etc that appear to have gotten more rusty since I dug them. thx. really enjoy your videos
Man I wish we had such cool stuff here in Texas! Awesome!
Nice finds! Poor turtles! The soldiers sure were handymen... Love the bullets, shells, and cannon balls. Thanks for representing WV haha I like the Mountain Dew can too. Also love the blob top ya got. PLEASE DONT CLEAN THE COINS! That purple on em are probably tarnishing from the silver. You should give a tour of your whole room you keep your finds in!
-MSS
and I've watched almost all your videos I'm definitely a big fan
Ya awesome collection my favorite is the belt buckle and the mountain dew can is pretty cool as well I'm from Texas so I doubt artifacts can be found around here like that
Another really good year for you Beau! I vote yes on cleaning the coins. They don't look as nice with all the river patina on them. Do you have a museum or something? Best wishes and HH for next year, Dave.
were do you keep all this... i love it.... watching and eating a chicago deep dish.. chicago in the house...
thanks for cleaning up the rivers!
My grandma passed this year, going through her stuff I found a blood letter exactly like yours. I didn't know what it was, other than it was some type of blade that is scary sharp
Nice founds! really enjoyed your video!
Man,,, you have enough to open a museum.
that peuter thing with the glass is an old doctors stethascope he would hold it to his ear and to the patients chest.. I seen one at a museum civil war era most def great find!
great finds ,very interesting.
Excellent channel, interesting video! Thank you!
wow,incredible! The relic king!
Wow! Awesome finds.
great finds really enjoyed the video
Thanks for Sharing...!!!
is that all the stuff you found metal detecting in that room? that's a bad ass collection room. have any videos of a tour of the room?
Great finds. Thanks for sharing. I'm considering on purchasing an AT machine. Since you have used both the Pro and Gold could you offer me some of your ideas on the differences between the two models. The thing I remember was a comment you made, while in Europe, that you like the audio better from the Pro. Thanks
more great finds, telll me are the artillery shells from your civil war era? I just love the cannon balls as well! As to more of those coins, well the ones you cleaned last year looked just fine to me, I prefer them cleaned! What a great time you have detecting
At 9:07....what is that projection sticking up from the shell up near the top? Thanks
Im sure you get this alot...but why do the cannon balls end up in the streams?
hey beau is there anyway you can make a video of your whole relic room I know you have them how you display finds but it would be cool to see your relic room.. if not I understand I know you put the sticky notes on there where you find stuff but you could turn em around just a thought if its too much trouble its ok just would like to dream about what we all could have someday lol...
Chigg the thing with glass is a old age black light ...to sit atop a candle
Awesome finds Beau!
could it be the purple glass is old old old magnifying glass...after 75yrs. glass can turn many colours eventually purple can become amethyst my favorite glass.
I found something similar to something I saw on the table. At about minute 2:54 there is a small oval piece with 2 holes on it. Do you know what that goes to? Mine has hand engraved patterns on it.
Unbelievably cool
They're your coins, do what you like with them. Great stuff. Subbed.
In the 60!s Mountain Dew's slogan was. "Yahoo Mountain Dew It'll Tickle Your Innards Through And Through!"
Great video do you cover any battlefields of the Revolutionary War? I live in upstate NY we have some big ones here Newton Battlefield in Elmira & Saratoga Battlefield near Utica. Bet there are a lot of artifacts waiting to be found there, although I never hear of anything being found. I enjoy your videos went to the Confederate Museum in Richmond & toured many battlefield sites in the area. Thanks for preserving & sharing this precious American history with us.
the thing with the purple glass i think they use it to see better the night im not sure...
Beau maybe that thing with the purple glass in the middle was like a scope maybe?
What do u do with all your fishing sinkers (the ones u can buy from the store) ?
