Thank you for this review. You answered a few questions I was thinking.

Ive owned one for a year and generally agree. I think it does not do a good job of mopping, if judging it immediately after one pass. But if you have a decent mop that automatically runs every day, it still is great.
    issues:
    - surprisingly easy for the front water sprayer to clog up. I think my dog licked it once and that was enough. took quite a while to figure it out because:
    - not good at self diagnostics/reporting.
    - not very good at mapping: maps get bent, areas of rooms get chopped off. it seems like you basically have to reset the map every 6 months
    - not good at night: you need to run it during the daylight. if you are retired, there's no escaping it conflicting in some way with your lunch or other experiences at home occasionally.
    - not super clean: each pass is not amazing. but if you run it every day, it is fantastic.
the value proposition in this mop is that it is 1/3 the price of 2nd gen robotic mops, and still gets the job done. the disadvantages are real, but if you go into it realizing what you are getting, its hard to imagine being unhappy with it

I have a couple of anti-fatigue mats, mop friendly, in my kitchen. Can it go over them or will it avoid them? They are maybe 3/8" tall.

At about 2:17 on the timer It looks like the floor is wet yet I still see puppy paw prints. This is my biggest concern because when my daughter's dog comes it leaves foot prints over the entire floor and that is why I was thinking of getting this. When dry do they disappear?

I think the puppy walked over it after the mop went through and the floor was still wet.

There are 2 area of the hardwood/composite floor on the first floor of my house. The foyer and the kitchen, which are separated by the living room carpet. Will this present an issue in the way that this mopping robot will not cross the carpet area from the kitchen to the foyer? thank you.

    • @zdnetvideo

You would need to manually move the Braava Jet m6 into the room that is separated by carpet because it will not cross over the carpet (you don't want it to). So, a little manual labor in exchange for clean floors - Beth, video host

@zdnetvideo I understand there is a threshold feature iRobot introduced for the Braava Jet M6. Will that allow it to traverse over carpet to mop an area that is separated by carpet that needs mopping. In my situation a carpeted living room separates my kitchen from an entry way and two other bathrooms that would need to be mopped

Very nice review! Let me give you something further to the features of this device after 3 years of experience: Poor quality made. Hardly survived the guarantee period. Needed repair 3 times for this 3 years. Crushed 4 months after guarantee expired and was not possible to be repaired. Repair center asked me for 17 euro to tell me they can not fix it. My advice is - Look for mop from another brand. This one did not worth it. Now I have purchased 150 EUR mop and can say it doing same job with less problems.

What I can't figure out from every video I find is: can this be put into a room without doing a lot of initial setup and it go mop the room or do you need Wi-Fi connection, internet, and mapping on a map through an app and all this other stuff before it ever starts the first time. I'm trying to figure out if I can carry this into a house and it mop a floor then take it to a different house and it mop a different floor without much setup time or not. Nobody ever seems to touch on how the initials set up goes for the first mop of a room so if anyone could help me figure this out that would be awesome!

From my experience with the j9+ combo, the original maping of the house can be done while vacuuming and mopping tho it will take longer then when it knows the layout, also looks very dumb and clumsy when it's checking for boundaries. Once maped out it's really smart. I don't own the braava jet m6 yet but planning to get one soon

    • @jackle842000

@@Goldhook420 I was hoping to find one to take to multiple houses. Don't appear to be one that'll work hardly. Seems like the technology we have today is should've been simple to make one that could for the prices they're asking for them. No way I'm paying that for one that's lacking efficient mapping abilities. I mean it's a floor so it should be able to run up and down the floor and map at the same time almost as fast as if it didn't have to map while going around objects as it comes to them. Seems crazy how clumsy and slow everybody seems to report them mapping. Guess I'll wait till they actually put effort into them cause they charge way too much for that.
