Braava Jet M6 Review - Full evaluation with Roomba Integration

- Today I will be evaluating the Irobot Brava jet M6 which allows for automation integration with the Roomba I7, a vacuum which we already own. Our house is entirely tiled except for rugs, no carpeted rooms. So a quick unboxing is conducted and we jump right into it.
I would have like to have seen an auto filling station for the cleaning agent, much like the I7 has for removing dirt for the unit. I can see how adding cleaning fluid every few uses does speak well to automation.
The same app for our other device allows adding this mop, same procedure. Just like the vacuum, I conduct a mapping run. It builds a separate map, since it does not run on carpet. It can however run over carpet via configuration to reach areas of the house as needed.
At first we got off to a shaky start, but it gets smarter at subsequent re-attempts. Once the map was completed the mop fitting was added and cleaning solution was mixed to the correct values with water and filled.
The float can get stuck in the container and give a false indication of empty when it is fact not. I found this to be true as well. A gentle shake can fix this. Like the other roomba it does not work near the dock, the full house clean does a special care clean by the dock area.
The tread mark complaints were only witnessed when the device was brand new but cleared.
Consumption settings should be checked and set, how much spray is used to clean could be the difference substantially between fillings. Again, an auto fill station would be grand.
Integration settings in software is good. Ours starts after vacuuming finishes. That said, its good for light moping, I wouldnt use this as the commercial shows, cleaning up spilled milk in a kitchen, what would be a disaster after a few hours back on the dock. But a great compliment to the vacuum cleaner.

When you first connect the m6, if you have compatible Roomba like S9 or j7 you can import your map.
This only works with certain Roomba models and best when the bases are next to eachother for easier integration but it will still do some learning.
So much better than trying to nap mine with my thresholds between rooms before even running once. It thinks they are carpets because of tilt sensors.
But doing this allows you to start with a map and mark thresholds right away.
Also, you can't just delete the map you have if you're struggling right now. You have to remove/factory reset your m6 and uncheck box to save map to cloud for use after reset. This makes it same as when brand new and after you connect, when you click map in the app there's a second option that pops up to import either from cloud from old m6 map or compatible Roomba. Choose the Roomba map
Make sure your Roomba map is everything you want it because after the import they become separate maps since they don't share maps between eachother besides the import process at first.
I was ready to send mine back until I figured this out.

Doing third mapping before I return it. My house has a lot of windows and sliding glass doors, light color tile and no threshold and this keeps stopping before kitchen and family room. 😢was my choice to buy. Customer service is not as good as a decade or 2 earlier.

Hello, 1 of the 2 mop contacts oxidized and rotted and no longer charges, the rest is perfect, how do you fix it? is there a fix?

How often do you need to change the reusable wash pad? Any problems with it developing mildew?
My wife just tosses them in the was as needed....
I have door trims between rooms , will this go over the door trims ?
It can be set up now to go over these small dividers to get to another room.

From the unit price of this mop I would've thought that it was a line item in a bloated contract to supply mops to a new Navy ship. (Sorry I just find some gadgets humorous)
Automation is still expensive, question is, if I had a dollar for every time the floor mopped itself.... It adds up.
@@retrotechandelectronics I was not my intention to put down Your decision to go this product,But rather to inject some humor. I think there could be a lot of sailors who would like to automate paint scraping and mopping the deck.
I did not take it in an insulting fashion. Back in the day people paid other folks to get out of duty, this is almost no different.

Light your house better. Mapping runs, even on non camera models, seems to only work with good lighting. As in wait until like noon to do it

Stupid question, would it traverse a carpeted bedroom to mop a tiled floor ensuite?
Yes and no. Depends on the shag of the rug, but remember that it needs to drag that attachment across.
