The problem is the big clubs attract the bigger TV audience, they know it, the smaller clubs know it, everyone knows it. There is no real answer, just compromise.
You telling me more people watch table tennis than Boxing? thats absurd. Ask a random kid in Europe, Africa, China or Brazil to name one table tennis player they will struggle. ask them to name one boxer for sure Mayweather, Tyson, Fury or Joshua names will pop out among them.
The champions league wasn't rebranded. The UEFA Cup (now Europa League) was the top European competition. Then the Champions League was created and become the top competition while UEFA Cup became the 2nd
I swear your pyramid is incorrect. Im sure the old division 1 rebranded to the Championship and the old division 2 became league 1, division 3 became league 2 and the conference leagues became the national leagues
I’m an American with just basic knowledge of the British football system. So, the top 3 teams and the bottom 3 teams at the end of the EFL season are all kicked out of the league? Why as a fan would I care about my team being in the Premiere League?
No one is kicked out of the league. You're either promoted or relegated to a different league. If you're in the top 3 you get to move up. If you're the bottom 3 you get moved down. There are 4 professional leagues. The Premier League at the top. The Championship, then League 1 and League 2. The Premier League doesn't have promotion but instead have positions where they get to play in European competitions. The Top 4. The Premier league is where all the 'big' clubs are and where access to European football is. You want to see your club play against Real Madrid or Barcelona? Then you must be one of the top 4 teams. It's also where the most TV coverage and money is.
@@jeremywadian310 In that specific league yes, but they'll have been moved to a different league so they play there instead. Only the in the Prem does the top 3 not move to another league but like I said they get access to play in europe as well as carrying on playing in the Prem. Think of promotion and relegation like the measure of how well your team has done that season. If your team has been awful then you'll be staring down relegation. If your team has be great then it's promotion. There are 92 teams in 4 tiers of football in England but not every club will stay at the level they currently are. Some huge clubs with historic pasts now languish further down the leagues. It's part of the allure of supporting a smaller club. That one day they'll be playing the likes of Man City, Arsenal or Liverpool and maybe even the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Football in England is tiered with the Premier League being the top tier, EFL Championship second, EFL League One third and EFL League Two fourth. Every tier has promotion and relegation. This is very different from American sports.
@@Section20Ul to add onto this, most people call leagues 1 and 2 basement leagues. This couldn't be further from the truth. Leagues 1 and 2 are great leagues to watch!
First, display the actual date in which English league started and then introduce the PL as well, makes it seem like the English League was a recent phenomenon
We did explicitly say which is which in our commentary. The graphic could definitely be edited better though, we agree. Also, all information and sources were checked thoroughly for accuracy. We'll definitely keep that in mind.
How the Bosman ruling Broke football
Should rename it as the greed league

Premier League is not a young league unless you also tell us that the Champions league is also a young league since it was also rebranded in 90s or so

Same way that The Hundred has destroyed cricket.
If The Hundred ran for the length of the cricket season, I might agree with you. As it is, it runs for 4 weeks.
@@Ramtamtama Yes, and for that four weeks it decimates the 50 over game, rendering it meaningless.
