This style is like many genres but the chords she is using are jazz chords! And the drum pattern is a 7/4 which is a very odd time signature, that's why it sounds that way. I love that so much it's so complexxxxxxxx
The drums probably grabbed your attention because the song structure isn't 'standard'. The timing starts in 7/4, then moves to 4/4 time and back and forth. I think the mix is great though. Definitely can't classify this song under one label. It's pop, rock, jazz, and more. This song really blew me away.
