Right? I was listening to Eiffel 65’s Europop album the other day (the one with “Blue” on it, in case you aren’t familiar with it), and I had the realization that the album is over 20 years old, and I’ve been listening to it since it first came out. I felt real old. 😂

In Cher's Believe, you can hear a little auto tune (I think that's what that effect is called?) and a few other places, but it's incredibly minor that you wouldn't think they aren't actually singing. You're probably hearing some reverb too, which is a commonly added studio effect
The Cher ‘Believe’ song should have significance to Pentatonix. They were supposed to perform that song on the Sing Off but they did Video killed the radio star instead. Look at them almost 9 years later slaying it!!! Love them so so much!!
I am not sure the song would have worked so well without the autotune without totally changing the genre, and they wouldn't have been able to use it on the show. I am VERY happy we got Video Killed the Radio Star, anyway.

@@amanda13b12 It sounds like they used a few minor studio effects to keep it true to the originals. In Cher's Believe, you can hear a little auto tune (I think that's what that effect is called?) and a few other places, but it's incredibly minor that you wouldn't think they aren't actually singing. You're probably hearing some reverb too, which is a commonly added studio effect

The Cher ‘Believe’ song should have significance to Pentatonix. They were supposed to perform that song on the Sing Off but they did Video killed the radio star instead. Look at them almost 9 years later slaying it!!! Love them so so much!!
