    I would highly recommend people to bring an umbrella with UPF! We brought ours from Coolibar, and you don’t know how many times we repeatedly said how grateful we were of bringing it. While everyone was sweating and getting sunburned, we were cool as a cucumber. A regular umbrella won’t work for the sun because you can feel the heat go through the fabric of the umbrella. It gets steamy underneath. Not with a 50+ UPF umbrella! We were saving our spots for the parade for an hour, and we were not sweating at all. My husband even took a nap, and he really can’t withstand heat at all.
    We also wore UPF clothing from Coolibar, and that kept us really cool and protected from the sun.
    I promise this is not a Coolibar ad. 😂 They’re really awesome though.

    I recently went on a Disneyland trip with two other families and various members wanted to go on Splash Mountain for a farewell ride, but no one wanted to deal with wet shoes and socks. I was prepared though and had packed dollar ponchos and flip flops in a plastic grocery bag for me and my daughter in my park bag. We got on the ride, threw away the ponchos after we got off, and changed back into our regular shoes and socks and continued on our day (the park bag stayed dry thanks to a non-rider). The rest of our party wishes they had planned for that scenario.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad

      Flip flops are a must for Splash. Last time I rode it, at least 6 inches of water washed over my feet.

  • @teresacarosella7624
    @teresacarosella7624 10 месяцев назад

    I always tell people to bring ziplock bags. If you bring the gallon size they are also good for wet clothes. If you have little ones you may have extra clothes for them, but you need somewhere to put their wet clothes. Also works good for "accidents". I highly recommend dry socks during the rainy season. You will be surprised how much better you will feel if you can put on dry socks after you step in a puddle and get your feet wet. Great list. P.s. don't forget if anyone in your group has food allergies to bring snacks for them. Disney is one of the better parks for finding meals that fit special diets, but it is harder for snacks.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  10 месяцев назад +1

      All of this is really great, but especially about the snacks. I've often been really surprised they don't have more allergy friendly options, like there's nothing sugar-free anywhere in the park (to my knowledge) and some people legitimately do have a sugar allergy, and then there's some of us who just don't want so much sugar in our diets. 😅

      If you intend to go to World of Color, at noon on the day you go you’ll need to join the virtual queue from the Disneyland app. It’s right there on the home page and really simple to do.

      May Gray comes before June Gloom. It could be a little chilly in the mornings but the sun should make an appearance after noon when the marine layer (thick blanket of clouds) burns off and it could warm all the way up to 80s, then will drop back to the 50/60s after dark.
      When I look back at past footage from May, I usually find us wearing jackets still, but even on my most recent visit (Thursday), it warmed up to 72 and I took my jacket off for 4-5 hours. The day started off at 52 though.

      @@SoCalDisneyDad thank you for your videos. Im an older mom with a 4 and 5 year old, I started all over in my older age and your videos have helped me to prepare for an up coming trip to Disneyland. Boy has everything changed from back with my 28 year old son... Disneyland seems so complicated compared to back in 1995... I have been binge watching your videos, I want to keep up with my two little ones so they're not shorted because of my age. Once again, thank u so much! 💕
