There is behind the scene's footage where they're filming the Predalien at night for what I think was the final battle. The behind the scenes footage has actually really good lighting and contrast so you can see the details of this cool as hell suit. In this footage you can hear the Camera operator for the camera that will be used to film the actual scene say "The shot looks too dark" or something along those lines. He's told to "Shut the fuck up!" by the director. That's why the movie is so dark. The directors of the film didn't think it was important enough.
Not the worst Predator movie (that goes to The Predator) but by far the worst Alien movie imo. Yes, worse than Resurrection cause at least I can tell what’s going on in that movie and at least still feels like it’s from the same franchise
Oh yeah, at least the predator is competent in this movie (for the most part) The Predator was an absolute shit show and I can't believe how badly they fucked up the Worldbuilding
I just want to ask why the hell this is going down in small-town America. The entire "hook" of both Predator and Aliens (the second one mainly) is dangerous aliens fighting to the death and humanity's warriors (colonial marines in Aliens and pre-colonial marines in Predator) fighting to survive the carnage. Not Huck and Jim Bob getting slaughtered in small-town USA.
With AVPR, had the really stupid, human, side of the story NOT been a part of it, I think that would greatly improve this film, no matter if we can see it or not. lol

Yeah, I mean if you have the right person they can do good work with basically nothing. These were not those directors

i forgot how dark this movie was bloody hell
The eye strain might have been worth it if the film wasn't dogshit
@therealloomar right? A dark as shit movie with a terrible story, what did they think was gonna happen?

I mean, it's set on earth. It kinda has to have a human story by nature
It could have had a much more compelling human story however
The movie is too dark evenly throughout for it to be a mistake. It had to have been intentional. Why? Why indeed.
damn guts got me beat
And third
I’m about to go play in a football game. Wish me luck.
Bit late but good luck
@ Yeah… um… we lost. Got 45 at halftime.
Break a leg. I love the double meaning of this expression
