I didn’t grow up watching Transformers and didn’t know much about it other than Optimus Prime and cars transforming, but I really enjoyed Transformers One and this is one of the rarest movies where I want a sequel
Also the fact Hasbro is break up with Paramount and Paramount being greddy ...so i am not sure Paramount Will spending a lot money than usual for Transformers film ...at least until 10-15 years later
The trailers were terrible for this movie. It made it seem like it was for very little children. I only saw it because of word of mouth and I'm glad I did.
Yeah, the marketing team seriously dropped the ball on this film...it has way more depth, nuance, and character development than the campy humor shown in the trailer.
I'll be honest. Other than the horrid writing in the Bay movies the other thing that bothered me about the Transformers designs in them is that in adding all those always moving details and "realism" I felt the Cybertronians where too exposed and all their internal components where vulnerable. Say what you will about the G1 Boxy designs but they seemed like the Autobots and Decepticon's where wearing proper armor like they where walking laser shooting tanks and that felt appropriate for Sapient A.I's in a galactic civil war. The Bumblebee and The Rise of the Beast designs felt like comfortable middle-ground between detail and practical looking combat armor for robots. Of that makes any sense. I know it sounds weird by the Transformers One designs also seemed to me as more practical and at the same time asthetically pleasing symmetrical designed that somehow fits.
for me the worst design decision in the bay movies was making the deceptions all grey just to reinforce the idea that they are evil unlike the colorful autobots, it made them all look exactly the same
I disagree with you on Chris Hemsworth’s performance, I really loved it. I thought he did way better than I thought he would, and I supported his casting. Brian Tyree Henry did the best though
Bay wasn't responsible for the live action movies... He was the director and did have some say for the creative liberty... There were numerous studio interference... More so lack of creative say or writers in the ROTF...
We all want a sequel to Transformers One ! I watched it with my father and we both loved it. It was very interesting and funny because my father grew up with G1 and i grew up with Prime.
The trailer ruined it. I really thought TF ONE was going to be the Cybertron segment from Bumblebee expanded with same voices and cgi . But then I saw it for free on yt and I loved it
Ok but my problem with this constant g1 wanking is that most fans nowadays have grown up with the bay films and the contemporary cartoons. You want to know why TF one failed? It’s because it relies on nostalgia for an 80’s show Thats extremely dated and that it’s fans have mostly moved on. Say what you will about bay’s movies but their is a reason they made multiple billions.
No the reason why this film failed is because Paramount marketed it as a film for toddlers with those terrible trailers. Plus it doesn't matter how much Bay's films made when people think Transformers, G1 will always be what comes to mind. And this is coming from someone who grew up on the Bay film's.
@@Drums_of_Liberation you’re in the minority pal. Most people think of the live action movies and that’s a fact. Go to any random joe on the street who knows transformers and they will reference bay’s films 99% of the time.
@@jacobcramer2853 well it's the mindset tahtlive action in for big cinema and cartoon is for television. After all tf cartoon are more for for television or tv series rather box office

This film rocks. Saw it in theatres twice! Praying for a sequel
Too bad others didn’t do the same! I think it was really let down by marketing because not really as many people that should have seen it, did

@@ilminurul8964 my thoughts exactly. It's not worth the investment from paramount now unfortunately
@@ryantsy 0:50 wait, actually watch that one with Megatron saying this machine kills fascists.
Well, it was confirmed that there is talks about a sequel
I like the movie and the soundtrack.
Transformers One is if Transformers Prime and The Bayverse had a child. And named it Badassatron
you are 100% right
this movie sure more than meets the eye.

I’d never really considered that aspect but you’re totally right. Makes me like the designs even more

@ absolutely. It removed all the personality from them which sucks.
Everyone talks about Orion's voice and NOT Megatron's voice....
Because it’s good?
I think it was people getting ready to be disappointed with Chris' performance because famous actor = bad voice
I demand a trilogy. Take my money.
We need a trilogy.
Transformers One rekindle my love for the series again

That’s totally fair. I think it was really me just being a bit nitpicky
