Few month ago I switched maya to blender. I happy with blender bcoz it good . Blender has ability of 3d animation + sculpting + tracking + 2d animation and it completely free wow
I used pirated copy of. Maya for 6 years. Never made anything / published my content. Just used for my personal hobby. After 2.8,I switched to Blender.
That's a common claim I've heard many times over the past twenty or thirty years and I find it hard to believe in particular for a CEO who has to explain to his investors that his products practically own the market but only a negligible fraction of customers are paying up. That can end a CEO's carreer even while the company is still profitable.
@Solid Snake you haven't even opened it and yet you are assuming. I was just like you a few months back. I tell people that blender will not get even close to the mayor softwares . But I downloaded 2.8 one day and fukkkkkkk. IT BLEW MY MIND. I saw a lot of potential with this 2.8 version. I started learning it up to this day and haven't opened maya bor max for 4 months now. Blender took me by surprise and this 2.82 version. ITS FKN MASSIVEEEEEEEEE Give it a go! I can assure you too wont look back
@Solid Snake get yourself a proper Workstation. Actually you cannot compared a 250mb to 5gig package.. blender is fast as lightning what you talking about Willis
Who cares? I use Blender. It is all in one solution for 3d. In near future, big companies will be attracted to it. Only one thing is bothering me it's memory handling which makes it numb in very high poly mesh. Wish developer will soon get to it.
@Solid Snake Once upon a time Intel was thought to be never replaceable processor and all games were built in accordance to Intel capabilities. Within a very short time scenario was totally changed in favour of AMD. It is all about R & D. Blender is progressing in leaps and bounds. In every month a new version with major update is coming in Blender. Major player have started to patronize it which is a real progressive sign.
I think the monthly subscription (Which I'm against) became a problem that many people would rather pirate it than to pay it every month. Especially how pricey Maya is. However, the individual license was a good call but I think it's no coincidence that it came around the time Blender 2.8 became so popular. (Especially how people recalled many times of wanting to have individual license for years before Blender 2.8 released)
I think if u use for personal use at home it's okay but if ur using it for commercial use for creating models u need to pay for the software. Btw I am a student and use the student version
If they didn't want people to use them illegally, they would've secured the software heavily like Steinberg's Cubase Pro. So if the cracked versions are coming out easily that means they want it to happen.
Every 3D software company must work with steam if they want to reduce illegal copy I can use substance painter, substance designer, marmoset toolbag and 3D coat because I can buy them in steam Steam is a really good platform for people who don't use American dollar they currency pegging dollar against other countries' money and because of that games and programs are most cheaper than their sites prices
Autodesk doesn't realise that their practices are the reason why people pirate their software and they deserve it in my honest opinion, Keeping a really expensive subscription service, Making it harder for the average person to just acquire their software, Ruining Maya for every year since the release of Maya 2016 by adding unneeded features and making tools unstable and broken compared to previous versions(and also the terrible ui which get's shuffled each release making it harder to get used to and the increased instances of crashing), limiting to only the recent releases instead of letting people use previous and unsupported versions (which people need for a variety of reasons like preferences and plugins that only work with previous versions of their software) and so much more. It's laughable how greedy Autodesk is honestly.
i can understand a student learning or an enthousiat trying to get into modeling, use an illegal copy, he can't afford it anyway ..... but for someone making a living from it, and 6 millions are those users, 4 of them are heavy users that just stupid ... or use Blender ... and on the other part of the mirror ... compagnies should stop making licenses too expensive (like thousands of dollars)... the future is subscription and the ideal solution is a percentage of your revenue... you make X on some software 15 or 20 per cent from it should go to the company who made the software ...
Small companies in developing countries cannot afford to pay autodesk prices. This is a fact. At this point it should be a law that all software should have a free version. Since it hurts the economy to be unable to perform tasks because software is too expensive. Also LT versions are only good for individual users. Medium companies that need collaboration to acomplish tasks have to pay like large firms. They need a middle ground or else lose ground to piracy and competitors.
6 millions are probably from 3rd world countries, something you can't do much about especially if the governments and their laws are broken......Autodesk is lowering the prices and introducing an indie version and maybe in the future a free non-commercial one. in the end Softwares are business and they need to make money.

I use pirated Autodesk software, why? well, because I don't have over £10,000 laying around in my bank account and only 1 family member has income in our household (3 people total), not to mention she is getting quite close to a minimin salary (which is around £19k for the UK). Buying something without a massive use in that product is quite pointless, so we don't buy it. Going to College/Uni to use this software is great and all, but for me to be qualified enough to work in this field is non-existent with only the 2-5 years of experience. paying £156 per month for something I am doing as a hobby is quite ridiculous in my opinion.
I would not touch any pirated software. Goodness knows how hackers can use pirated softwares so to get data from YOUR computer. I use mostly open-source softwares.
You know why i think it is safe? Autodesk is not a small company, if they don't want you to use the crack one you will never be able to put ur mouse cursor on Xforce .... further more please do not worry, you can use it crack they just obtain your data and that's it ... it's just not secure for your computer. Moreover, if they strictly wanted everyone to pay they just create the certificate version of their products which mean whenever people use their product to finish any project they must show the certificate that they have a real one yet this method is to put their company at risk of not having people using their product or considering their product at all. Come to think of it, blender is a free open source ..... if Autodesk is strictly prohibit people from using the crack version then most people are switching to blender or other open source program and that's the big draw back for Autodesk itself. No body use it no free models..... well and no worry about them making money .... they work with giant company so they earn a lot from their big customer already .... getting 200$ from you each month doesn't mean anything to them. Well ... stay safe have fun :) work harder

It archives a lot of things that we can go back and study as a guide for future things or improvements , that is just simply thrown away by the corporate world of their employee's hardwork. And is huge help for middle class and lower to learn bigger things that are just too expensive people cannot pay for every single thing they are already paying for physical, they save a large amount for bigger things in future and they go on working for a corporation or any kind of job from which corporation takes great benefit from. They know about it but they will not do because that is there earning point indirectly. So be respectful to reverse engineers for their hardwork in digital and quality content piracy if used in ethical way. Autodesk doesn't give a sh!t because 90% of their income is from engineering softwares.
Are you saying their engineering softwares don't get pirated?
When a company like Autodesk learned to get greedy like Adobe, then people do this.
Few month ago I switched maya to blender. I happy with blender bcoz it good . Blender has ability of 3d animation + sculpting + tracking + 2d animation and it completely free wow
I primarily use ZBrush but Blender has replaced anything I needed in Maya or Max. With UE4 and Quixel taking up a bunch of slack too.
I used pirated copy of. Maya for 6 years. Never made anything / published my content. Just used for my personal hobby. After 2.8,I switched to Blender.
I read somewhere that even cracked version of maya when connected to Internet can get you caught, did you do something to block access?
@@spooderman5405 I got caught, so i switched to blender. You can get sued when you get caught and continue to use it............
@@thadramallama what happened when you "got caught"?
was it police business or did they sent you some threatening letters?
@@spooderman5405 that’s why people use things like ‘little snitch’ or ‘lulu’ so it can’t connect to the internet while still working as intent.
My theory is that autodesk lets people pirate their software to steal market share from other companies.
a lot of people believe that they make so easy purposefully.
David s. It’s called buying seats
Maybe the pirates are just another form of Leads in Autodesk's CRM/Database? So they can convert them into paying customers later.
like windows and winrar
That's a common claim I've heard many times over the past twenty or thirty years and I find it hard to believe in particular for a CEO who has to explain to his investors that his products practically own the market but only a negligible fraction of customers are paying up. That can end a CEO's carreer even while the company is still profitable.
Blender came to change the game.
ITS FKN MASSIVEEEEEEEEE
Give it a go! I can assure you too wont look back
I used 3ds Max for 15 years and always thought that i would never replace it for anything...
Then I tried blender 2.8... never came back since
@Solid Snake get yourself a proper Workstation. Actually you cannot compared a 250mb to 5gig package.. blender is fast as lightning what you talking about Willis
@Solid Snake you need to look closer and rethink that mate, you are waaay too clueless
@Solid Snake have u ever installed or opened blender? 😒 Being Beginner At The Software Doesn't Mean That The Software is Bad
Who cares? I use Blender. It is all in one solution for 3d. In near future, big companies will be attracted to it. Only one thing is bothering me it's memory handling which makes it numb in very high poly mesh. Wish developer will soon get to it.
I think I saw something about that being addressed in 2.83 maybe.
in edit mode maybe but in sculpting it is a blast , I think it is better than 3ds max anyway 😂
3ds max is numb for no reason in every step but undoing
Shut up fanboy, nobody cares about that garbage especially Professionals.
@@zed5449 Look at yourself. What type of professionals you're? I think you should take care of your burns with medicines.
How big is the 3d communitty. Because 6 million seems fairly small?. Do a video on how big is the 3d field..
Even Steinberg Cubase Pro get pirated everywhere, but i choose to buy legally because it is the best software in the market
Every 3D software company must work with steam if they want to reduce illegal copy I can use substance painter, substance designer, marmoset toolbag and 3D coat because I can buy them in steam
Steam is a really good platform for people who don't use American dollar they currency pegging dollar against other countries' money and because of that games and programs are most cheaper than their sites prices
even they make autodesk free i wont use it, because all my work can be done in Blender
Sudeep Singh well, technically free FOR 3 years, after that, time to upgrade next free version or start paying
@Solid Snake u have so much time, and replying to each comment , may be autodesk paid to to do
The price for it is ridiculous. If they did like 50 a month they would get a lot more business.
just use blender. it use awesome
Agree
Best soft soft tutorial for beginners on RUclips! I'm an absolute beginner and all the other tutorials I've found on RUclips have been so
If your an Individual with no company pirating Autodesk then you have nothing to worry about
i can understand a student learning or an enthousiat trying to get into modeling, use an illegal copy, he can't afford it anyway ..... but for someone making a living from it, and 6 millions are those users, 4 of them are heavy users that just stupid ... or use Blender ... and on the other part of the mirror ... compagnies should stop making licenses too expensive (like thousands of dollars)... the future is subscription and the ideal solution is a percentage of your revenue... you make X on some software 15 or 20 per cent from it should go to the company who made the software ...
If Autodesk would offer the indilicence project to all countries, it would change a lot. But at the moment, only a few countries can benefit from.
@@zed5449 Of course they should make money, but sometimes they talk in an imaginary world .... and count money that doesn't exist, saying we have 173 M of loss equivalent to those 6 millions is just stupid, how could they know that those users could afford the price of the license... , Maya is perfect example for that ... , Autodesk didn't add anything to it in terms of features ... and 3ds max too for some time now .. even Side FX who have the most advanced 3d software you can ask for .. have a very flexible free license ... some known people like steven knipping who is a master of it, all of his 300 dollars courses are done on the free version, he is eligible for it, even him ... and he is one of the most skilled TDs you can find on the software, SideFX and Epic Games with their Unreal Engine have that wonderful system, pay a percentage of the revenue you make with the software ... ., or a monthly Subscription like Unity ... both those system are the way to go ...
@@zed5449 dont pay for autocrap choose a software to your needs. Dont pirate software from a company that does not support international standarts and has a bad pricing scheme.
I think, Autodesk drive the same strategy like Microsoft in the early beginning of MS DOS and Windows. They do nothing against the piracy because everone who use Autodesk products, don´t use other companies software, like Blender or Rhino or Modo for example. I think, the only case they go against, is when a bigger company use their products and make a lot of money. But a hobbiest or even small freelancer are not of interest. The 3d market is not as big as always mentioned. The mainincome from Autodesk are other areas.
Yes and microsoft really doesnt care abour pirate desk pc os, because the license they sell for laptops, at certain point we all need a laptop even if we have a desktop gaming rig.
video about autodesk, comments about blender...classic
Because blender has insanely improved now in 2023, February 28th, Blender 3.5 is releasing on March 22nd, 2023 with VDM brush for sculpting which Zbrush has for years. Now It's available in Blender. Blender has gone a long way in the last 3 years with improvements. Maya and 3DS Max are still stone aged when it comes to Their tools compared to Blender, especially the modeling tools!
I use student version of their products 😁

It’s funny that people pirate AutoCad, even though it’s a piece of shit, I only use it at work because that’s what all the old guys make you use. Five times less productive than Revit.
Blender is not an alternative when comes to CAD. AutoCad is the primary tool for many users in our locale though there is a perfect Foss freecad.
I use progecad, pay $500 for a perpetual copy and it is really good alternative to autocad.
What about Sketchup?

Some countries are banned of using credit cards or any electronic money dealings. Then user are either have to download pirated versions of paid softwares or use the free alternatives.
Illegal software harms less the owning company, but the employees of producing companies. Happen to often, that competing company stole a client being cheaper do to stolen software. More the this small competitors of Autodesk have less chances of selling there Software against illegal usage. Blender is more success in places where people had to pay higher and higher subscription rates. If you want to harm Autodesk, buy competing software, stealing or using open source will make them only richer by becoming a monopolist.
autodesk company have to let peopels work with cracked version so they can learn their product and buy them when they become proffesional and gain money ! i think the best choice is to make their software free like blender and unreal engine and i'm sure that peopels that made benefit from their product would donate for them like blender ;) i'm using cracked version for many program but only for learning not for money .
They would not be having this problem if these CAD products and licenses didn't cost $5,000 dollars a year. Autodesk is overcharging for their products.
The vfx and cg industry is running because of the availability of pirated software. The moment you take this away. The industry is gonna grind to a halt. The availability of free Blender is gonna do jack shit for the professional industry.
2:07 where is it from?
Here is my question, *WHERE* can i find a decent uh...Ship Fairing Copy of Maya/3DS Max? cause i go to the "Peers" Sites, and all of em look kinda scary to try. i don't know enough about Viruses and Crap to keep myself safe. it says Key Generators are "Viruses" which ive heard are False Positives, but idk.
What is an unlicenced serial number?
Tell Auto-desk don’t worry, they will soon disappear as users are switching to Blender as their main 3D software. I remember Apple had its Final Cut PRO over $600, but they bring the price down to match Davinci Resolve 😅

@@martinkri1002 Also, Maya and Max are a small portion of Autodesk's sales. Their bread and butter is architectural and industrial design software.

Maybe if the damn software wasn't so expensive then people wouldn't use illegal versions.
Agreed, they would still make more money licensing it cheaper that how they are doing it today
How do I pull up those effects slots on the left of the setuper?
The monthly price of the yearly subscription is more than my rent. If they don't adjust the prices for other countries, no one except huge corporations will pay for the subs
i believe in the ability to demo a piece of software before buying and that is where we are forced to pirate it just to try it out and see if its even worth the cost and the high cost at that.
They really have no excuse to charge as much as they do for Maya when free programs such as Blender are almost, if not just as powerful.
Is it posible to import from a cracked Maya to a licenced Maya, or there is some kind of magic code that doesn`t let you?...in case you can how do they know how much came from the Maya you purchase?
Blender for the win
But Blender is difficult to learn. All those shortcuts...
Blender is weak for professional projects, it's just a beginners tool to 3D but once you mature and become professional you'll realise how weak in production is, especially if you're going to do some heavy projects like Archivz, VFX Movies or even AAA games :)
Blender only for beginners? Lol, you haven't seen what it's capable off lately I presume? They make entire movies with it like "Next Gen".
@@zed5449 this is laughable really there are so many big companies joining the blender company, a beginners tool maybe a couple years ago but not right now

Epic games gives mega grants to anyone with condtions to support UE4, and the moment blender killed it's game engine they gave it one, Ubisoft joined not their AAA game Studios but just a new small team working on animation shows and instead of their own tool they're testing Blender....AMD, Nvidia, Unity,Amazon,Facebook..etc these are not Studios just hardware, software & services vendors and want to attract more customers
so the only big company you would say is the canadian one which is Tangent the others are not even worth mentioning.
So if you compare that to the hundreds or even thousands of Big Studios like ILM, Disney, Sony, DNEG, LucasFilm,Weta,Naughty Dog,EA..etc these are the real deal and they're the one who're running just the entertainment industry :)

Autodesk just makes it more appealing to pirate their software now, i dont understand why they went in the direction of actually having to go to school in order to use the student version instead of the past were you just couldn't use it commercially and had that pop up everytime you saved and loaded a student version file.
I bought a year license for Maya indie but i wasn't making money with it so i thought what was the point in paying another year when all im using it for is to improve my portfolio? (I dont use blender for modeling since i understand more with Maya's hotkeys and navigation and changing that would suck) Way to shoot yourself in the foot Autodesk!
Wait Autodesk said that they know that you have there software because they tracked it to the system and was able to see in side, wouldn't that mean that they have a virus inpatient into the software to do this. That's called hacking.
yet they are saying China is spying on them? The US government have been doing this since Windows 95 and “free emails“ know they got you by the balls with your smartphone and Google Maps, which knows every move you do
Blender users were absolutely right!

I am Muslim and I am afraid of that using such softwares as pirated is a sin in Islam and the money gained by it is haram, but people like me who live in poor countries don't know how to afford such high price of those softwares.
Blender is the best choice. I don't use pirated softwares either. I am on linux and use almost everything open source free, the only thing I paid is 3d coat, but blender can also be its alternative.
My guess is that more than 70% of the pirate users rarely make any profit on it anyway

You live in Durham region?
I use pirated Autodesk software, why? well, because I don't have over £10,000 laying around in my bank account and only 1 family member has income in our household (3 people total), not to mention she is getting quite close to a minimin salary (which is around £19k for the UK). Buying something without a massive use in that product is quite pointless, so we don't buy it.
Going to College/Uni to use this software is great and all, but for me to be qualified enough to work in this field is non-existent with only the 2-5 years of experience. paying £156 per month for something I am doing as a hobby is quite ridiculous in my opinion.

I use mostly open-source softwares.

Wait hold up, so none of the AutoDesk softwares work offline?

Piracy is not a theft but what corporation and legal system make rules at some point are just absurd because they think biased , only for making big amount for themselves. Piracy will never go away that's a lie. Piracy works in an ethical way if people use it properly. Autodesk discarded 3 yr license plan which it had prior to 2020 , this is just one example of many corporate exploitations , no one can learn 3d in one year...
blender is great for hard surface. but for character its ok, its just lack a good hair system like xgen or ornatrix.
Blender Scultping is good for characters. I accept on the hair system, but there is a easy work around for hairs in blender.
the should stop the annual subscription policy and just sell the program, if a small company is starting their business (especially in poor or developing countries) they wouldn't be able to endure all that money just to be able to use the software for one year.
