not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all the latest series on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my girlfriend lately xD
I first heard this song about six months ago...yeah I know...and it has beguiled me ever since. My dad died earlier this week and it's provided great comfort and solace to me, I don't even know why but it does...
I lOVE Nels, have seen him live with WILCO 6 times in the last 15 years. He's the best living avant garde guitarist. But the best of his generation? He's nearing his 70s. Born in 56. His generation includes Eddie Van Halen, Eric Johnson, AL di Meola, Alan Holdsworth, Phil Keaggy, Pat Matheny, Pierre Bensusan, Birelli Lagrene, Michael Hedges, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriano, and a ton of other great guitarists.
Larga vida a WILCO.
nels' solo is amazing no matter what version, but this version is the FUCKING SHIT!!! love how he kills it and then switches back to the neck pickup at the literal perfect moment
If this was still new to me I wouldn't understand Impossible Germany Unlikely Japan But this is what love is for To be out of place Gorgeous and alone Face to face With no larger problems That need to be erased Nothing more important than to know Someone's listening Now I know You'll be listening
Both nels and jeff are amazing. But its criminal how pat sansone gets NO attention for the constant amazing color he adds to the mix. Obviously less in some songs. But i dont ever see Pat getting any love
had that same thought. and I Love Nels playing and composing but he is a ham to go along with all of it loll... but this is the moment I've been waiting for I've never actually seen Jeff giving Pat any love and it was great to see
Remember, Jeff, entitled St. Louis music snobs will be critiquing you ab infinitum. This impossible Germany jam is completely unobjectionable and a legitimate triumph. Keep making great music, Jeff.
Nico Gonzalez I've read online that Nels uses Dorian mode in original, recorded version but he often explores notes outside of Dorian and makes it so-called bebop scale.
It's a shame not to have Letterman come on at the end - "woah buddy how about this guy?! huh Paul?", "oh yeah Dave, that's the real deal man", "those your drums..?"
How good is he. I am watching all the live versions of Impossible Germany just to see Nels play.
Absolutely!!!!!!
Think this is my fave
Nels avant garde chops led him to incorporate so much these past 15 years. Incredibly good.
Also me

Same when my wife passed this album helped me.
Listen to "On and On" by them it will hit hard
Same 🥹
This is the kind of guitar soloing that made me buy every Steely Dan album from 1972 on.
THIS COMMENT
I've seen Wilco preform this song TWICE.... I cried TWICE.
Right!?
When a Letterman audience shows audibly that they are impressed with the musical guest, you know it's a great performance.
This is one of those songs for me...I can listen to it again and again.
So true. It’s becomes almost meditative.
This is a live band at the height of their powers. The way it meanders off then locks back in again is incredible.
Absolutely! That is my assertion as well. Firing on all cylinders.
Wilco is so lucky to have Nels...
I hope they never get tired of playing that song cuz I won't ever get tired of listening. Complete song-craft right there.
More like "impossible Guitar Solo". Love Wilco and Nels is the best.
This is the best version.
Nils Cline is just unbelievable.
Andre Costello Nels isn’t too bad either.

Beautiful performance by Wilco.

Nels is the shit. Cant wait to catch them again at the Fillmore run coming up in September
If this was still new to me
I wouldn't understand
Impossible Germany
Unlikely Japan
But this is what love is for
To be out of place
Gorgeous and alone
Face to face
With no larger problems
That need to be erased
Nothing more important than to know
Someone's listening
Now I know
You'll be listening
I feel like it’s uncommon to have a solo that turns into a riff, but it’s so sweet in this song
well thats about the best darn guitar solo i ever been within earshot
Sublime!
Love how the tight, whammy-bar vibrato is just so "Nels". Really unique melodic phrasing as well, no one else plays like him.
It’s truly one of the best guitar solos ever.
Nels cline is unbelievable
Excellence in rock.
So good it's almost ridiculous.
That was amazing

Nils cline is the greatest guitarist of his generation
100abomb so true.

Goddamnit nels.
El mejor solo de guitarra en lo que va de siglo.

rogmart01 I was there too. Best show of my life. "You guys smell like bacon!"
I have a ticket for Red Rocks 2021 and I'm getting prepared
Amazing stuff
proof that nels can hang with the best of them
Love it
10 years ago and I’m just now hearing it? 🥹

fucking awesome
John Lennon's voice coming to life again. Wilco is so damn good!!
Nels nails it!!
Wow
I came here for the song, stayed for Nels...
Love how it’s always the same solo only each one is better.
NILS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!
Just Wilco
W O W
How did Nels Cline decide this was going to be the night he was going to play the best live version of this song ever??
somebody can tell me wich scales use the guitarist to perform that insane solo?
Nico Gonzalez I've read online that Nels uses Dorian mode in original, recorded version but he often explores notes outside of Dorian and makes it so-called bebop scale.
It's a shame not to have Letterman come on at the end -
"woah buddy how about this guy?! huh Paul?",

"those your drums..?"
Nils cline, are you human??? Wtf!!!! Impossible Cline!!
This song accidentally improves to majestic
Face to face!
Only electric guitars can this sounds
