WILCO - YOU ARE MY FACE

- I remember my mother's
Sister's husband's brother
Working in the goldmine full-time
Filling in for sunshine
Filing into tight lines
Of ordinary beehives
The door screams I hate you
Hate you hanging around my blue jeans
Why is there no breeze
No currency of leaves
No current through the water wire
No feelings I can see
I trust no emotion
I believe in locomotion
But I've turned to rust as we've discussed
Though I must have let you down
too many times
In the dirt and the dust
I have no idea how this happens
All of my maps have been overthrown
Happenstance has changed my plans
So many times my heart has been outgrown
Now everybody's feeling all alone
Can't tell you who I am
When everybody's feeling all alone
Can't tell you who I am
I am looking forward
Toward the shadows tracing bones
Our faces stitched and sewing
Our houses hemmed into homes
Trying to be thankful
Our stories fit into phones
And our voices lift so easily
A gift given accidentally
When we're not sure
We're not alone Видеоклипы
Second verse always kills me, just the way he sings it. Can't resist singing/screaming along.
This is easily in my top 3 songs of all time. A Classic Tweedy
People talked a lot of crap about Sky Blue Sky...I think it is brilliant, open, honest and deep....it was my late wife's favorite thing to play on long car trips
As the years of living with Wilco pile on, this song, particularly live, has become one of my favourite of theirs.
I loved seeing Wilco in Chicago, the members are so connected to the audience Jeff Tweedy looked right at you when he sings...saw them at the METRO...awe SOME ARTISTS!
I'm going to my first Wilco this march.. too excited!
@@73bernice how was it?
@@nisathsalsabilrob1680 life-changing, better than I could have imagined!
@@73bernice🤘🤘🌹🌹
Saw Wilco in London 2019.... best live show ever!
Theyll go down as one of the greatest bands of all time.
these comments are funny.
I don't care if wilco is boring, or if they've sold out, or their fans are boring. what the hell, who cares. They're amazing. I don't think they are radical or anything, but they are damn good. really great at what they do, and have been since Uncle Tupelo days.
They're way more human --"real" if you like--than most musicians at their level of fame and success.
they make me want to dance, cry, that's all i ask....
i come back to see this perfom every now and then... and everytime it ends, i want to give it another like.
youtube should let me do that in this case
Great song!
This song is so fucking good. Never get tired of listen it.
Absolutely beautiful.
possibly my favourite Wilco song
This kind of writing was it for me when I was a kid. It taught me you could write about anything. Life changing.
It´s near Christmas and I`m listening to this song. I still can see her face. I totally love her and she will be my face until the end of days. This is what happens when we separate. One wing will never ever fly.
I love the pictures painted by the lyrics "the door screams 'I hate you,I hate you" and who else would use phrases like "currency of leaves" or "happenstance" ? friendofthedevil is right basically they are an INTELLIGENT rock group where there is no other one at the moment I can't think of one.
I've thought about these lyrics for years, love them.
Nels Cline...what a fooking badass....
thanks for putting the lyrics to the song in the comment, it's a great feature and a great video of a great band!
I found this music when I needed it the most
Possibly their best song.
I love the guitar at 1:19 1:57, especially at the very beginning of that section.
This is such a great performance of such a great song. Thanks for the video!
Beautiful performance. But I've turned to rust as we've discussed // Though I must have let you down
Incontournable.
Le plus grand groupe américain avec Sonic Youth.
Great songs don't fall out of trees. They tend to come out of the brain of Jeff Tweedy.
Hermoso tema hermosa version
I love this song.
I love this song so much. Thank you. 💗

Wilco channeling CSNY, Beatles, David Gilmore and Jeff Lynne
i'll be waiting to see him
🤘🤘🌹🌹
Jeff's playing a Neil Young approved Les Paul here
With P-90s!
Its a Jerry Jones 12 string
Its a new guitar built to resemble a 50's/60's danelectro
Damn.
No final fica mesma harmonia de avohai de Zé Ramalho. O baixo tá bem parecido.
Dat shimmer
Modern day steely Dan to me
Me recuerdan a Pretty Things
PINK FLOYD - US AND THEM!!
i've replayed the note at 1:49 - 1:50 about 10 times. so nasty.
Our stories fit into phones…
@YearZeroRecords White collar? This is as grassroots as it gets! I believe they've earned a TRUE fan base w/out videos or airplay. I don't understand your comment... I guess I can see the whole coffeehouse image you're talking about, I just don't see how you can judge "fans".
almost got this one down.. ( a small part of it, anyway). struggling a little with the break
agahgkjahtgpaeihnlm nels cline is so fucking awesome
@hobbsmusic Mind it!
i think these guys might be leonard cohen fans, listen to "suzanne"
Dear ryantp, as you are probably aware, there are exceptions to each and every rule.
nels cline
@YearZeroRecords Most of their fans are boring people. I saw them in An Arbor, MI last year and I sware to you, 75% of the audience was wearing the same brand coat and sitting on their hands. Still...WILCO is unbelieveably talented. Tweedy is a gifted artist.
@FatmanCaufield Wilko?....Grassroots?.....you wanna get out more. Corporate grassroots sure. "Judge" is a word used by neo-cultural fascists to supress opinion.
One is not judging, generalising ,maybe, but mearly expressing ones opinion of bland section of society. As for Wilko, I have the deepest respect for their artistic integrity, and some of their tunes are songcraft of the highest calibre.....but packaged to appeal to crypto-yuppies with coffee tables everywhere. Sorry if I offended you.
If you think Wilco fans are boring, have you seen Guster fans? Oh. My. God. So. Lame.
@hobbsmusic Mind it!
