Hi! I want to be a compounding pharmacist. Do you need to have a 5 year pharmacy degree for that? Because in the Philippines pharmacy is only a 4 year course. Or is it fine if I just take the pharmtech exam and work from there? I hope this gets noticed.
Pharmacist you need a degree. I believe it takes 5-6 years of school then you take your licensing exam. Pharm tech is a 2 year diploma program then you take your licensing exam. Make sure to go to an accredited school or you won't be able to register for the exam.
Depends on the State, and role exactly. Might not need a degree, in fact some companies are offering trainee -even with no experience- they teach you EVERYTHING you need to know
Man compound pharmacies are so bad. Somebody complains little to know FDA oversight. There's a reason we evolved away from compound pharmacies. Because it's less efficient less sterile and the way we do it now is just better for everybody. Going to these places it's just asking for trouble. When it comes to creating medicines I rather trust the computer than the person. Because people make mistakes and they can accidentally add anything that will put your life in jeopardy. And there's no backups to check their work not like huge drug corporations.

Yes you need a degree to be a pharmacist. To be a pharmacy tech, no you don’t need a pharmacy degree
