I understand your feelings about the differences in Korean tests. This particular test is designed around the essential grammar rules for TOPIK, with some slight adjustments made. I hope this helps clarify the structure! 😉
I got C2 in this test, but it's hard to know just from 5 questions. Even so, this video is a good starting point. I'll follow it up with a full test to double check my level.
Wow, that's great! 😀 Yes, like you said it's a good starting point. 👍And it's a good idea to check your Korean with the official Korean language test!!

22 points! 5 in A1, 4 in A2, 4 in B1, 4 in B2, 3 in C1 and 2 in C2. I've been studying for about 4 months now and I would say I'm definitely A2 approaching B1, but was able to guess answers for higher levels through what I've heard whilst immersing lol
25 points; 5 in A1, 5 in A2, 5 in B1, 3 in B2, 4 in C1, 3 in C2.. i think I'm around B1or B2. Didn't know a lot but guessed some things right due to hearing them a lot..
I got a score of 16. 5 in A1, 5 in A2, 2 in B1, B2 and C1. 0 in C2. In B1 and B2, there were 1 or 2 words I didn't know. But in C1 and C2, there were a lot more words I didn't know. I'm definitely in A2 but I learnt about some interesting grammar that's coming in later stages through this test. I love that you provide more examples along with the explanation. It definitely makes me eager to learn further. Right now my biggest struggle is making my own sentences. And when I see complex sentences it gets lost in translation. I keep trying to guess what a sentence could mean. Any suggestions on how I can fix this gap in understanding?
Well done!! 👏👏👏 Very good score. Your Korean is definitely heading to the intermediate level. So I'd suggest starting with short sentences. I often share the same advice in other videos as well. Start with simple sentences for a while. Once you get used to it, gradually add more words. Keep building up, adding more complexity as you become more comfortable. For example, 1) 저는 가요. 2) 저는 도서관에 가요. 3) 저는 가끔 친구랑 도서관에 가요. 4) 저는 가끔 친구랑 도서관에 가서 공부해요. 5) 저는 여름 방학 때, 가끔 친구랑 도서관에 가서 공부해요. Understanding complex sentences is also related to sentence structure and grammatical patterns, although vocabulary is also important. So, I'd suggest learning Korean with resources that you can understand 60-80%. Start by reading relatively simple sentences, and break them down into chunks by using slashes or brackets. For example, 저는 / 여름 방학 때 / 가끔 친구랑 / 도서관에 가서 / 공부해요. It's up to you how many slashes or brackets you use. It could be like this, 저는 여름 방학 때 / 가끔 친구랑 / 도서관에 가서 / 공부해요. or like this 저는 여름 방학 때 / 가끔 친구랑 / 도서관에 가서 공부해요. The point is they will guide you in identifying the main parts and the supporting elements. Once you get used to it, gradually increase the level. Hope that helps. 😀

What's your priority - listening, speaking, or something else? Think about this first and make a plan. If you just want to improve your conversational proficiency, then listening and speaking skills are important. As you know, they always go hand in hand. Start with practicing listening. I normally do two things. 1) listen to something ALL THE TIME, such as audio books, radio, TV, movies, podcasts, youtube videos, just something that is easy enough to understand and interesting enough to keep motivated. 2) Get a transcript of spoken content which is also easy enough to understand and interesting enough to keep motivated. Listen and analyse pronunciation, new words and grammar. And then read the transcript out loud over and over again almost until you memorise it. And find another transcript and do the same thing. I usually do these two for a couple of months and take some tests online or an official test. And them repeat 1) and 2) in the next a few months and test again. It is really frustrating but i'll watch all the recent videos on this channel and try to do more shadowing when i'm watching stuff in korean. I'd love to hear it if you have any suggestions for my problem and thank you so much for making these videos. They help tremendously🥹
Thank you so much for watching my videos. Really appreciate. 😀 Wow, brilliant score!!! It seems that your Korean is quite good! You know, it’s not eay to achieve the level you’re at. I hope you feel prouder of what you have achieved. 😀 My suggestions for the problems…hmm 🤔 First of all, about 20%. What do you usually watch? Vlogs, dramas, movies, reality shows, debate shows or tv news? This percentage may depend on what you watch. I suggest two things, extensive listening and intensive listening. 1) For extensive listening. Whatever you enjoy watching, keep doing it. But don’t worry about how much you understand, just enjoy. One condition though. If any sentence structures or words catch your attention, jot down and learn them (just a handful) 2) For intensive listening. Look for content that comes with scripts. And make sure you choose something that you understand 60-80%. Personally, I sometimes go for even 90% when I don’t have much time to study. So it’s up to you but the content should be easy enough for you. And you can utilise this content in many different ways. You can listen and read out loud several times until you almost memorise it. Or you can try dictation. Or you can try shaowing (I usually just listen a sentence or a pharagrah and pause the video to read them aloud.). Or all of them. The key to intensive listening is to analise everything, grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, pronunciation etc. Make sure you do intensive listening every day even if it’s just 10 minutes. Here are the links for the videos may be helpful for you. 👉 ruclips.net/video/Sd7AEOrUk_k/видео.html 👉 ruclips.net/video/OOHpkQPmnhM/видео.html Secondly, long sentences. Do you struggle to make lenghty sentences when you speak? Or Do you find it challenging even when you sit down and think about sentence structure? 1) If your problem is the first one, it might be because you are thinking too much or lack of fluency. Then..please check this out. Some methods may be helpful for you. 👉 ruclips.net/video/KnzuOXTiyCM/видео.html 2) If your problem is the second one, it could be related to grammar. As you know, when you connect cluases or short sentences into one, normally you need to conjugate verbs and adjectives. Even if you understand long sentences when you listen, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can make them too. So you could either learn each grammar rule (e.g. 해서, 하는데, 하니까, 하자마자) or choose one long sentence from what you watched or the content that you studied and practice making sentences with it. For example, ‘오늘 회사에 가서 동료랑 커피 마시다가 갑자기 생각나서 말하려고 하는데 다른 부서 동료가 와서 말 못해서 좀 짜증났어’. (Sorry, this sentence is a bit exteme.) but anyway, change some words and make a few different versions in the same/similiar structure, and read them out loud. I explained this method in the video for speaking fluency. And this videos might be helpful for you as well. 👉 ruclips.net/video/f9FKwDeRWdI/видео.html Hop that helps. 😀
