it's my first time to watch a video for korean lang.... i know how to write how to read but I don't know the translation of many sentences that I can read, but I understand this story I guess there is only 2 or 3 words that I didn't understand but I understand it in the context of the sentence... it was too good 고마워요 ❤
The problem is that every korean teacher is spelling the letters j, ch different so I only can understand properly when reading. Here the lady is spelling j, ch like s/z- If you are beginner you will not notice the intensity of pronouncation of konsonants. I am A2 and I always hear s/z instead of j, ch. Same to l,r. Although they speak slowly I cannot realize the pronouncation. I have to read to understand this here.
안녕하세요? 반가워요. : ) I think you have a sensitive ear for pronunciation. 😚 I can fully understand your difficulties. The Korean consonant 'ㅈ' has two different sounds and can be pronounced differently in different contexts. 1) At the beginning of a word, the consonant 'ㅈ' is an unvoiced, aspirated sound close to the English [ch]. However, it's a soft aspirated sound, so when you pronounce it, you should only aspirate it slightly, not as much as [ch]. e.g. 재미, 잘, 조금, 장소, 주문, 지하철 etc. 2) However, if the consonant 'ㅈ' is in the middle of a word, it turns into a voiced sound similar to the English [j] or [z]. (unaspirated = no air comes out) e.g. 가족, 모자, 소주, 아버지, 여자, 남자 etc. 3) ㅊ is pronounced like [ch]. so it is unvoiced, and is very aspirated. If I schematise it, unaspirated: ㅈ in the middle of a word | | | | ㅈ at the beginning of a word | | | very aspiated: ㅊ sounds like [CH] I hope my explanation is helpful to you. If you have any more questions, feel free to leave a comment. ☺️
This can be applied to the Korean consonant 'ㄹ'. If it is at the beginning of a word, it should be pronounced closer to 'L', but if it is in the middle of a word, it should be pronounced closer to 'R'. 😉 e.g. 레고 (Lego) vs. 모레 (the day after tomorrow)
@@morip.korean ❤thank you for explanation exactly what I have learned. Yes pronoucation is very important for me, may be cause I'm an author and a singer too.😊 the pronouncation is a part of the language melody. If you have the harmonic melody in your ear you even can imitate a language without one real existing word. (just for fun).
@@morip.korean Thank you, my teacher said its not natural. We should let go it from the tongue how we feel it. The same in Thai but they have L and the strong R. Its so funny to listen to a drama and both actors say it different in one scene "te lak" and "te rak". Native teachers say let it go, doesnt matter how you say it. Okay, but for european native speakers its confusing and giving us hard times. "We shall not always follow the brain but the feelings."🥰
I had the same problem as you when I was learning Japanese. For me, the sound of the letter "こ" was different for everyone. Some people read こ as [ko] and some read it as [ggo], so it was confusing. 😢 I asked my Japanese friends, but only a few of them noticed the difference in sound, and even they didn't know the difference until I asked. It wasn't like the pronunciation changed depending on where the か was in the word. But in Korean, there's a rule that the sound ㄱ/ㄷ/ㅂ/ㅅ/ㄹ is different depending on whether it's initial or middle. That's a good thing! ☺️😉💪

너무 means *too* in English. However, we often use 너무 instead of 아주(very) and 정말(really) for emphasis. In this case, '너무' doesn't have a negative meaning.😉 Here are example sentences. e.g. 너무 고마워. (Thanks a million.) 너무 맛있어요. (It's soooooo delicious.)

안녕하세요? 반가워요. : )
I think you have a sensitive ear for pronunciation.
If I schematise it,
unaspirated: ㅈ in the middle of a word

|
| ㅈ at the beginning of a word

very aspiated: ㅊ sounds like [CH]
I hope my explanation is helpful to you. If you have any more questions, feel free to leave a comment. ☺️
This can be applied to the Korean consonant 'ㄹ'. If it is at the beginning of a word, it should be pronounced closer to 'L', but if it is in the middle of a word, it should be pronounced closer to 'R'. 😉
Thank you for these videos!! They're so incredible and helpful

I just found these today, I started in June and am kinda struggling 😅 but I'll get it eventually
1. "This tale is so captivating! It reminds me of the stories we share on 'Moonlit Korean Tales.' Love how storytelling brings culture to life!"
I understand like 75% of the words, but unfortunately I'm missing vocabulary and grammatical principles. I'm still proud of myself for understanding so much tho because I'm really bad at listening ❤
Glad your listening skills have improved.🥰 2024년에도 한국어 공부 파이팅!!!💪

i just started learning hangul and i’m so happy i can read this! i’m still slow but i’ll practice, please keep up! also may i know the meaning of 너무?
반가워요. 시청해 주셔서 고맙습니다. ❤️
Welcome and thanks for watching. We're glad you're improving.☺️
너무 means *too* in English. However, we often use 너무 instead of 아주(very) and 정말(really) for emphasis. In this case, '너무' doesn't have a negative meaning.😉
Here are example sentences.
e.g. 너무 고마워. (Thanks a million.)
너무 맛있어요. (It's soooooo delicious.)
I understood almost everything cause I'm learning korean by myself since 2022 may
와! 대부분 이해했어요? 한국어 잘하네요. 계속 열심히 공부하세요. 파이팅!!! : D
I actually understood what they said in the story now i don't need subtitles 💀😭✨
