I'm dead serious. That game was the worst thing I ever played in my life, and I got so mad that I turned off the GB, took out the game, and tossed it like a skipping stone into its watery grave. My life has been so much happier ever since.
Blue Bros No. There is a moral line I simply will not cross, and knowing someone else's life would be ruined by this horrible game would be a sin. It would be blood money if I made a cent from this wretched abomination.
Fun fact: Sunsoft was originally going to make T2 NES but LJN got the licence partway through development, Sunsoft then turned their existing game into a generic scifi-platformer in the vein of mega man or Metroid. It's also better than LJN's T2 game.
I had that last one, but for the Sega. Exact same game, but I was so hellbent on finishing it. I got to the mall stage, got to John Conners house, got to the hospital, but after many years, I never ever beat it. That driving stage is the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced within a game, and I actually got alright at it after a while, but still couldn't pass it in the later levels. It was ridiculous.
When AVGN, one of the greatest and most reliable Internet reviewers of all time, tells you to never play a shitty game, you should probably listen to him.
True story, I never got past the motorcycle level, had to return the game to blockbuster before I figured it out, and immediately after I thought "wait, can you shoot backwards?". All these years later, it's really nice to get the confirmation that yes, you can
The head-on collision with the truck had me in tears. Holy shit, trying to control the motorcycle looks like a hilariously frustrating adventure of its own.
This game was awesome! FInished it without any help. I kept dying at the motorcycle stage and was like man this game sucks. Didn't play it for a year or so, then one day revisited and completed it. Great achievement :P .
and what's interesting is that it was developed by Beam Software who developed the Punisher games on the NES and Game Boy. What's even crazy is that some of the unused tracks in the Game Boy port of T2: The Arcade Game are actually taken from NARC.
Bro, I love you so much. You are the best reviewer on the planet, all the pain and suffering that I went through as a child playing these games, figuring it out without the use of the Internet or any game magazine. Having to rent the game multiple times just to get past one level and then get stuck at another one priceless
I played that SNES T2 game so much as a kid. It's been about 30 years since I played it last and I still remember what dogshit the driving controls were.
"They took somebody as badass as the Terminator and made him into a mockery." Arnold's "Carl" character in Dark Fate in a nutshell Also applies to the franchise post-T2
Me and my dad liked what they did with Carl. It was cool to see that a terminator can have a normal life and raise a family. Also there’s a scene where a dog is standing beside Carl and not barking aggressively. My dad loved it when he saw that.
Had the T2 on Game Boy (not the arcade one), and I loved it as a kid. Yeah it was a bit hard to finish it with one life, but I enjoyed it. And the opening theme was pretty good as well. For me one of the few decent games of LJN
I used to have he SNES port, spent so many miserable days trying to beat it, and I still remember the horrors of the driving stages; every time I finished one it felt like a major achievement
Love going back and rewatching these from time to time (thanks RUclips recommended) , still remember binge watching all the AVGN episodes monthly back before the 100th episode was even conceived.
I hate to admit it, but there is one video game thats based off a movie (that I hate with every fiber of my being) that is fucking awesome!!! Wolverine Origins!!! That is the only game I have ever 100% completed trophy-wise.I kinda, no, I really wanna play it now!!! BRB!
The driving segment in T2 SNES is bar none the funniest gameplay footage I have ever seen. I'm seeing it as if it's chopper footage of a real life police chase.
Hi.. great video James!just wanna share. when i was a kid i finished the T2 version on the Gameboy and it was hard.i actually replayed the game several times and found it enjoyable.after watching your vid can definitely say that it was a good thing i only played thr Gameboy ver.. Kudos man!
5:19 Thing-a-ma-fucker. Sounds like my aunts vibrator that I discovered when I was 8. I came downstairs holding it turned on with my family in the living room. My grandma took it out of my hand and didn't know how to turn it off. I didn't know what it was at the time lol. We all laugh about it now.
true. LJN's misfortune was pretty much that they were put in a ''Don't shoot the messenger'' position, but as the old adage goes, everyone has to start somewhere, which is the case for companies like Westone (who developed Jaws), and Atlus (who developed Karate Kid, Friday the 13th, and NFL Football)
Terminator 2 is my favorite movie, and I thought that the NES version of T2 looked pretty good considering it's a movie tie-in video game published by LJN. Heck, I think I'm gonna add that to my retro game collection someday.
I've spent countless hours of my childhood trying to figure out the SNES T2 driving stage as mentioned at 11:42 It truly is the worst driving controls I've ever played. I never got past that second stage. SO BAD!

The game actually takes away your weapons because you have to jump at the T-1000 to make him fall into the lava 11:23 the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version driving controls is a bit easier than the SNES one. Hostile drivers won't spawn if you match the speed of the regular vehicles.
"Hasta la vista" means something like "see you latter", yeah similar since both are parting phrases but not the same, since unlike goodbye the other two both imply a posible future reunion.
Now that I think about it, maybe the Nerd "intentionally" replaced "hasta la vista" (wich like I just wrote imply a future reunion) with "goodbye" in so that it contrasts as totally opposed, a "goodbye" as in "I never gonna/wanna SEE YOU AGAIN, fucking piece of shit".
Fun detail, the Terminator theme is not in the usual 4/4 timing style. These consoles used pretty much primitive midi sequencers which only could do the normal 4/4 timings. This is why they didnt feature the Terminator theme except the Sega CD version which used just a recording.
I wonder if any of the original programmers from LJN ever saw the AVGN videos.. Gotta be.
The company didn't develop any games, only published stuff made by Rareware, Atlus etc...
+SeGa32xXx1 LJN still had programmers. Just for clarification, we're you even alive before 1995? Or did you get that fact from a Wikipedia article?
How many of you had the chance to watch Michael Jordan play live?
hmvd22 Yeah I have, but what does that have to do with LJN? xD
TheCloudGamer we're getting old
I hated T2 for Gameboy so much that I threw it in the Tennessee River when I was on vacation.

What game is it?
I don't remember the title. it was featured in nintendo power back in....I think 2011. That was the first I heard about it.
I believe so
Well pretty sure Sunsoft would have fucked it up just as bad lol
journey to silius is actually a pretty good game hard but fun at least I thought it was hard HVGN actually reviewed it thats why i bought it
He looks kind of like Hank Hill in the SNES one.

Hank Hill is: The Propaneinator.
The propaneinator I sell gun and gun accessories. I tell you what.
THE PROPANEINATOR
Why isn't LJN the main villian in the avgn games?
It is, in AVGN game 1, there is a level called Laughing Joking Numbnuts, IIRC.

Commas, use them.
Goodbye? Why not Hasta la vista?
He said that because those words were in the movie
Because that’s what Arnold says at the end in the movie
Probably trying to imitate... THAT person, you know, that type who misquotes popular movie lines.
@@ExplorerDS6789 chill out, dickwad
Probably because "hasta la vista" means "until next time", but there ain't gonna be a next time!
When Terminator was naked, it reminded me of that Bart scene from The Simpsons Movie.
Same. But we get a glimpse of Bart's tiny wiener..
We don't see Arnold's bazooka.

Good thing those terminators aren't running on clean burning propane, otherwise they'd be invincible I tell ya hwat.

There was one excuse for why the games were bad: LJN
