- What would cell look like if he absorbed Android 18 first instead of Android 17?
Would he still have become semi-perfect cell's design? Or did Toriyama have another look and design in mind had he absorbed 18 first?
In this video, we explore Toriyama's draft designs of Cell - and uncover what may in fact be early design concepts Toriyama considered! This video was originally uploaded onto World King Kanji, however it was due for an update and a redesign. Due to the fact I'll be uploading more videos in this series looking at Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super & even some Dragon Ball GT Designs by Akira Toriyama & others that we almost had, it made sense to revisit and update this video for new viewers & new purposes!

Seeing how 17 and 18 look like twins, It would not be dramatic in my opinion. I think Semi-Perfect Cell could still be bulky but with a bit of a different color and a softer voice.
You know, I been saying and wondering what semi-perfect Cell would have looked like if he adsorbed 18 first because 17 alone made him look like a brute while 18 made him seem nimble and agile afterwards in appearance.
My thoughts exactly! So when I saw these drafts/sketches from Toriyama i immediately made the connection
Why does this version look so much stronger than semi-perfect cell
Follow up question, what if theh decide to instead use this design for the villan in dragon ball super: super hero
That would be a good way to introduce a new version of cell
Cell seems to get a much larger boost after getting 18 than he did 17.

Semi perfect cell is actually a better design for cell if he absorbed android 16.

I don't think it would've made a difference tbh. I think the results would've been the same. I do wonder what would've happened if he had absorbed 16 though
That’s fair, my only real counter point is that if he were a mechanical android I’d 100% agree but I think as a Bio android, completely dependant on cells, I think the human parts of 17 & 18 are the parts that manifest in his appearance, so I think it’s likely that it WOULD alter his appearance dependant on whose current cells are present, which is why I think he looks more like 18 in his perfect form.
But I completely respect the fact you might not agree :) thank you for watching!

He can’t absorb 100% mechanical androids
I would imagine if Cell absorbed Android 13, 14 & 15

Lololol 17 and 18 are twins so i wouldn't think that it would make a difference in witch was absorbed first besides if he first had a sausage and now he has an extra pocket

Interesting take. I always wondered if his appearance was order-dependent. Maybe even Perfect cell would look different depending on the order.

Always appreciate these types of comments, yes - I’ve wondered that about his perfect form before too, but I feel like he’s probably designed to take the best “aspects” from 17 & 18, therefore I feel like his perfect form is likely always bound to end up the same (if that makes sense?) but of course, this is just my opinion :)
@@WKKanjiNeedsCoffee i wonder if dr. Gero even knew what cell would look like. He mixed the dna of several people and gave him the absorbing abilities but was the overall appearance intentional?

Typically speaking, the only reason his appearance changes when he absorbs the androids, is because it’s part of his
bio-design that Gero intended. However, if he absorbs anything else nothing would change.
…But for a fun “what if!” In the original Dragon Ball Z Budokai game on the PlayStation 2/Gamecube - there was a bonus level where Cell accidentally absorbs Krillin and his appearance does change making him look like an Orange Cell Jr without a nose! Funny stuff!

Hey What if someone made a DNA splicing of both 1st form cell baby 1st form hirudegarn & the carnage symbiote himself
It would be a very dangerous situation for the z fighters if cell were to absorb lazuli first. Givin how flexible and striking women are prone to be in some fight from what I know. In other words if one of the z fighters make one intsy mistake or pause a mizzly second in the fight they're fucked as that cell will take full advantage of that gap.

@@WKKanjiNeedsCoffee we would have to look at his specifications to see if it makes a difference who he absorbs first, his evolution was by design anyway so that info has to be somewhere in dr geros lab haha
