Cell had a goal to achieve: to absorb the cyborgs. Once he accomplished this, Cell succumbed to the humanity of the cyborgs and Saiyans: by having fun.

No. Perfect Cell is articulant the way Cell is *supposed* to be. Cell just needed to absorb the Androids to reach what Dr Gero designed

Honestly Future 17 and 18 were pretty much rebellious teenagers who were given unlimited power and were just bored. So they wanted to play some GTA. But in real life 😂

18 definitely had a effect on his personality, of course along with his looks. 18 gave him the beauty, and attractive appeal, but also the more smug, nonchalant, and playful personality.
To be fair they both were good looking.
Yeah but she also had a more matured demeanor than 17 and as Perfect Cell he was alot more laid back and mentally disciplined in demeanor like herself. Only really losing his cool in sticky situations even though he literally brought that on himself provoking Gohan. Alot of the shenanigans were 17s idea and had to peer pressure her into doing the same. Or she would just sit out and tell him how mature or boring he looks 🤣🐒 The mentality of 18 really had a strong affect by observation between the characteristics of both 17 and 18 before and after. 17 was like a typical young lad with immature masculine deviency and 18 was the more laid back in demeanor and the voice of reasoning even if it's poking jabs at 18s immature behavior. Its the mentality of 18 that gave Cell a huge boost over semi perfect because of the difference in mental discipline which that sort of meditation discipline like with Piccolo creates gains and power level past previous limits. Dabura also showcased the importance of mental discipline to get stronger for battle. Don't see why a better disciplined 18 in mentality couldnt produce the same results. Also his speed was increased afterwards due to a sleeker 18 framework and body and matches the same to the power.

@@ak47dragunov It's hard to say, but he incorporated both 17 and 18 entire bodies. And was able to physically change in multiple ways by absorbing them. And they technically were human first.
Yeah, they were artificially enhanced by machinery… somehow… they may had infinite energy, but they also take damage and thus makes their damage output weaker, which is their version of fatigue…. So in a way, they could hit as hard as a super sayin at full power infinitely…. And if damaged enough, they could hit as hard as a 2 year old infinitely…. Thanks to that machinery, so I agree that cell would suffer from fatigue, because he is biological, not a machine… but then it’s another question of the androids themselves, if their human bodies were biologically enhanced along side of mechanically enhanced in order to acquire their power? Like he couldn’t just absorb 16 who was full machine and just get his power right? Hmmm…. Lots of plot holes…

Cell himself says that 17 gives him power and 18 gives him the perfection which is the perfect final form so when he lost 18 to Gohan he could no longer have that perfect final form so he reverted both androids are like the yin yang whcih are what are needed to complete Cell there's a reason one is male and the other is female it's poetic really

This may be one of your best videos. I never thought of this and have been watching DB for over 20 years. 17 wanted to have fun which probably initiated a tournament. Plus the barrier when Goku was shooting him. 18 smiles and is cocky when she is stronger than her opponent. Just like Cell did with Vegeta. And i do believe after watching this video because Cell is an android just like 17 and 18 that he took a lot of his personality from 17 and 18 in his Perfect form. At this point, he most likely took the powers he gained from the cells from everybody else.

I always thought of Cell as avenger to Gero in a sense. Gero just knew Cyborgs still had their essence so they'd eventually turn on him. So Cell, being 100% bio, would absorb them and in sense, avenge Gero's legacy.
There might be a theory where gero uploaded his consciousness to cell that explain his loyalty to gero.

This is very intriguing and you have a very analytical mind. There is definitely a lot of aquired personality whether it's from the petri dish or the cyborgs. As a creature perfect cell can be described as pretty good looking too. His eyes after semi perfect Cell also resembles 18s especially. His body also got sleeker but he also got wider hips than semi perfect and even curvature at points resembling feminine shape in humanoid form.
I love how Toriyama kept this hidden detail consistent that ultimately makes the best villain in the original Z series.
Bro, I would really love to see you make a video about what if Imperfect Cell, Semi-Perfect Cell and Super Perfect Cell are separate characters/entities instead of one?
I would’ve imagined Imperfect Cell as Bacterall (Comes from the word of Bacteria) and Semi-Perfect Cell as Germell (Comes from the word of Germ) and Cell Jr. serves Super Perfect Cell as their Lord of all Androids.
Also, if I were Akira Toriyama, I would’ve added up a female version of Cell, whose name is Embryell which comes from the word of Embryo. She could be a potential rival to Android 18.
I have a theory that the power of Perfect Cell was in Imperfect Cell from the very beginning. Absorbing the androids didn't actually *increase* Cell's power but rather acted as a catalyst that triggered the dormant power within him. It's the reason why Cell's 2nd form self-destruct was powerful enough to kill Goku as a full-power SSJ. Because the explosion released all the dormant energy.
I think a lot of the people that Cell was made up of just created his ego to be crazy - especially in the Perfect Form. He had Vegeta and Freeza. That's a recipe for a big ego. 😂
Fr he has friezas ego but also vegetas as well so he wants to fight strong opponents but he doesn't want to lose also he has king colds cells as well

What I like about cells Character is there is reason why he overpowers the heros. He doesn't start as the pinnacle of power like frieza and buu.

I think the idea is like how animals eat a lot before metamorphosis. So I think he needs their infinite energy temporarily. But it's a good point that a huge energy source like the Saiyans can't do it.
Maybe some level of symbiosis while he's absorbing them like Buu would be interesting. Maybe toriyama had the same idea and that's why he did it with Buu.
That's what it is symbiosis and everyone absorbed by or assimilated by a parasitic DragonBall villain is still very much alive even if it's just the life energy and ki of a random human living on as a part of Cell's Ki and life energy or if they were turned into chocolate and eaten.

I understand the point of this video and I agree with it to a point. However, the one thing that I would say is that because 17 and 18 really didn’t want to be absorbed by Cell.. Rather, he just used certain aspects of their own techniques/personalities to suit his own needs forcefully.

cell went from being patient ,to impatient cell because 17's patience was conflicting with his. Then after he absorbed 18 ,17 always use to convince 18 to have fun and 18 would be convinced and so did perfect cell ,and wanted to play games just like the both of them.

I thought that Cell's personality didn't change; he just changed situations. 1st/Imperfect Form Cell is seen as the calm and pragmatic form of Cell, but look how reckless Trunks's Cell was when Trunks overpowered him. Imperfect Cell also showcased quite a lot of arrogance in his battle against Piccolo and 17 due to his power increase, and Semi-Perfect Cell retained his previous cunning by manipulating Vegeta.
Cell's personality changes on his forms, sort of "evil" versions of the fighters, that was the writing for him.
Imperfect Cell is supposed to be calculating like Piccolo
Semi-Perfect Cell is supposed to be like Vegeta
Perfect Cell is supposed to be like Goku, even in his goals. It doesn't show in the dub, but Perfect Cell actually did not care one bit about destroying the Earth, that did not interest him, all he wanted was a good fight. He reveals this while fighting Goku. In fact, if it showed the Saiyans could _still_ get stronger after the Cell Games? He would have let them, but again, evil, if he needs to kill to get them stronger? He would.
Ultra Perfect Cell after blowing up is supposed to be like SSJ2 Gohan, ruthless. The Goku part got abandoned and he wanted to let everyone die like he was made to suffer, which mirrors how Gohan was treating him minutes before. It's never implied he ever got Gohan's genes, but after that explosion it is shown he can mimic things to a near perfection, like abilities.
@@shiningarmour6805 I am aware of how his forms are analogous to other characters. I'm just pointing out that this really doesn't apply so much in-universe as it does out of it.
I also find it funny that in the same way Cell mimics the Z-Fighters, he also mimics (or in some cases, foreshadows) the villains. He has the intelligence of Demon King Piccolo, the arrogance of Vegeta, the elegance of Frieza (a trait that is actually kind of consistent between forms, as in the sub he always uses the formal pronoun Watashi) and again, his Super Perfect form is reduced to a mindless and enraged destroyer, not unlike Buu.
I think there is a lot of symbolism that he couldn't achieve perfection without also including woman into the mix. The attributes of all races organic and technological, and even genders
I assumed "effect" just meant power level and maybe form, but the behavior stuff totally surprised me, very good observations!

I have a question, what happens if the earth is blown and some of the z fighters are training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber Do they instantly get trapped forever?.Like when Kid buu blew the earth and for example Krillin and Piccolo are in the HBT training

Cells face in that bottom panel where he used the android barrier is the same expression 17 made when he was dodging the second wave of blasts that became the hell zone grenade during his fight with piccolo

Also it probably it predetermined who Cell should absorb first on programming so as why Cell targeted 17 first. 17 as a number comes before 18 itself so nothing and no appearance would have changed because Cell has to absorbed one over the other if true or at the least Cell may have lost certain benefits and gains absorbing the wrong target first in objective.
More than just coincidence that 17 as a number comes before 18, Piccolo wants to kill 17 first, Cell comes around and targets 17 first too even though he was capable of going for 18 first and puts Piccolo out of comission in annoyance. Piccolo is very intelligent and wise especially after reuniting with Kami, both Cell and Piccolo seemed to know what to target first before the other. I do believe if Piccolo killed 17 then Cell would not have been able to absorb 18 still and would have been royally screwed, robbed of the first link in the designed programming. Cell kind of tortured Piccolo probably out of spite for this too before decomissioning. Also him deciding not to absorb Piccolo was meant as a personal insult for his meddling with 17.

Following all of these rules, why don't they just wish for either a pile of senzu beans or an easier way to grow them? The dragon can make you immortal. He can't make beans? A cat grows the beans.

Ive asked that a million times "what if cell absorbed 18 first" id imagine him being still somewhat bug-like but much more feminine
first form was sneaky willing to wait however long it took for them to le down there guards, form two he changed from sneaky to conniving using his words to get what he wanted, perfect form arrogant to extremes only caring about proving his power. I believe if it was 18 first he would have won going for the win first then playing after removing the ones that could beat him he got 17s desire to play with his victims which led to the cell games.
It obvious in the anime that Cell took on some of the personality traits of 17 and 18 through the incredible performance of the voice actors. The line "I'm just warming up" to Vegeta was delivered in the exact same tone by Cell as when 18 said it to him before she kicked his ass when they fought.

How strong was Third Form Freeza? As far as I know we go from "Freeza and Piccolo are fighting relatively evenly" to "Freeza absolutely demolishes Piccolo," we see Gohan hold his own with rage boost, and we see Vegeta THINK he'd have a shot against him but Freeza transforms again and welp.
So what do you think? COULD Vegeta post-Krillin injury stand a chance against Freeza's Xenomorph form? Would Goku wipe the floor with him?

I really wanna know how he stored the androids in his body. With regular humans he drank their fluids like a insect (makes sense) but with the androids they were apparently whole? They were even still alive and not mashed up like chewed food after the fact
i watched the cell saga again and when he puked up 18, his chest moved around the most. I always joke that he stored em in his pecs
His cells fuse with their cells. Gohan punched him so hard that 18 was forcefully de-fused and caused him to throw up.
It’s the only way it would make sense. After absorbing 18, Vegeta blew off his side and Goku his entire top half, yet 18 was not visible.
@@paliboy93 That's correct. Bulma literally says that Cell merges with 17 and 18 on a cellular level. But Gohan didn't punch Cell in the stomach in the manga. It was the kick to the head that caused him to de-fuse with 18.
android 17 and 18 were good in our timeline, can'twe argue that the cell of our timeline would also be good? but krillin and trunks preimptively killed the cell of our timeline, and i have no doubt goku would be pissed/not approve of what they did.

I think it’s less of gero playing 4d chess and just being vengeful. He might have foreseen the androids betrayal. He created a being that would dominate the universe. But also take away 17 and 18s most prized possession thier freedom.
Why didn't Gero modified himself in order to absorb 17 & 18 instead of creating another creature (cell) to do that. You would preservation of his own life would have more value.

In the manga there is a panel of Dr Gero's computer with "Cell" in the incubator and his name is written "Sel" in his case Toriyama's naming convention is obvious but usually the pun is breaking the 4th wall for us but not so on the nose that they get the joke
