    Very cool!!! Are you going to put an anchor point just behind the back door in case you need to winch the Jeep up?
    Looking forward to more videos man, you're doing my bucket list.

      There are 2 tie downs at the front I could use as anchors for a snatch block/winch. Long term I’d like to have a winch mounted on it, but as with everything as money and time permit. Trying to get it ready to live in before the extras

    Could a bus like this be used to pull a gooseneck trailer, for hotshot purposes?

    Just the video I was looking for ! I want to haul my Jeep Wrangler. Will a Cummins 5.9 be enough engine ? Thanks Again !

      Most likely, but I have no experience with Cummins. My bus has a dt466 in it

      Drilled all of the rivets out and then riveted it back together using the factory holes

    How long are your ramps . I plan on hauling a Subaru impreza or a Subaru brat . Neither has much ground clearance, so my ramps will have to be fairly long I think

      A little over 11’ long. There’s a video of me loading the Cherokee on the back which should give you an idea of break over angle. You could also get a bus that is air ride rear and dump the bags to get it lower. My bus is leaf sprung rear.

    Hi can you tell how long from back of drivers seat to the back door and how long after you shorten. how much did shorten the back of frame Thanks Mark NH

      I will have to take some measurements and get back to you as I haven’t gotten around to measuring the length of the inside since we cut it down it started out with about 30’ of interior space if I remember correctly. We cut approximately 14’ of body off the bus and added a bed that is a little longer than 15’ so we actually extended the bus by about a foot. It’s now a full 40’ long vs the 39’ it started out with. The frame was not shortened at all.

      Interior space to the back of the drivers seat is 15’ 10” x 7’ 6”

    Hey dude..awsome work!!!Im considering using a smaller bus like a handicap and cutting it down like this to pull my 30 ft 5th wheel trailer..Im thinking to use the front of the bus as a garage for my outlaw quad and tools...do you think a short bus could pull 10,000 lbs with a 444 or a dt466?

      Depends on what hp engine you end up getting in the bus. The dt466e like I have could have from 170-350hp ratings (mine is a 210 hp) also depends on how light the bus ends up being once you cut it down (mine is 15,750ish empty). I weighed my bus on the way back from my trip to uwharrie and it was 21,760 with my Cherokee on it and packed for a trip. It cruises interstates fine for the most part. It wasn’t thrilled with some of the 9% grade hills I got into, but still cruised 35-45 up most.

    What was the reason for not initially keeping the bus floor?

    • @thegreendumpster1414
      @thegreendumpster1414  Год назад

      It’s extremely heavy for what it is and it’s a lot lighter to build a full bed. It also would require more material to strengthen it further so mostly weight is the reason

    What if you hater-piped a bus?

    • @thegreendumpster1414
      @thegreendumpster1414  2 года назад

      It would probably be loud, which I’m trying to avoid since I’ll be driving hours at a time in the bus from place to place as I travel the country.
