As long as the players are happy and the chemistry is right I'm happy with the off season. Like mike brown says, "it's a players league."
Monte has made some significant improvements to the bench this off-season and I can't wait to see how much that will benefit the team moving forward. We now have better depth to weather potential injuries. Can't the season start already?! Looking forward to hearing you evaluate Keegan's growth as well!
Sasha is a proven playoff performer.

Anyone can sit back and Monday morning quarterback what Monte has done or not done. It would have been awesome to have had Kris Murray drop in our lap, but it is the Blazers. Making the right tweaks right now and building up the young players is what the organization needs right now. The kings need to get back to finding some good players through the draft , doesn't have to be all star level or higher but just avoid busts.
The Trey Lyles resigning sealed the deal for me. The Kings are Locked On and ready to roll!
I absolutely agree, when was the last time we had a all nba guy who wanted to stay?? That was the biggest move in the last decade for us. Top 25 player in the league.

I'm just gonna assume Keegan's stint in the ca classic was supposed to be a confidence booste4 and to see if he could take more responsibility with the ball to move him to the 3 spot.

Moving Barnes to the bench with Monk, Davion, and Liles sounds like a very reliable bench

No i dont see it being right away, we will have to see how Coach Brown plays with the line ups, but i think half way/two thirds the way through the season(assuming Sasha lives up to his skill set and his status as a Euroleague mvp). I can honestly see this as Barnes last big payday while having him take a step back and provide stability to the second unit. 🤷♂️

Great breakdown. I’m one of the few that doesn’t mind running it back with basically the same team. We only had one season of this team and we overachieved so i imagine we should only improve next season with the experience we gained. I don’t see the big moves the other teams made as that good. I think the kings will still be competitive as they were last season

This is a better and more balanced roster than last year imo while still keeping the main core
I'm glad the Kings made smart moves like resigning Barnes and extending Sabonis and avoided making a splashy signing like Kuzma or Middleton. Sasha is going to be great and Duarte is going to bounce back to his rookie year numbers.

All these moves made were for the longevity of the team not win now mentality.
Wonder how many who cried when McNair traded Haliburton are crying again this off-season? How many fans predicted a 3rd place finish in the West? Or Coach of the Year? The Executive of the Year definitely deserves the trust from this long-time suffering Kings fan.

My worry about Harrison Barnes is not because he is a bad player. I just worry about his playoff play.
Glad Sabonis is a King for a long time. He seems happy being in Northern California. It provides stability in the organization.
Sasha, I am looking forward to seeing what he can do. Not sure if he is purely a 4 or a 4/5 hybrid like Trey Lyles, but I am excited to see how he develops as a King.
Duarte if he can recover from a bad year is a very solid pickup. I hope that he can. Because he pushes Barnes to step his game up or move to the bench.
Barnes doesn't have to be a great scorer. But he does need to be consistent in showing up and putting in effort. 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist games can't happen with Barnes for 41 games and the Kings win 50 games next season. Otherwise, I see Duarte eating into his playing time.
I still hope they use the full mid level to grab another backup Center. Because I feel like it is the final piece for the bench depth. I know Alex Len played well at times, but not sure he can do in in 82 games what he showed in the playoffs.
So, I like the idea of another big. Unless Trey Lyles is going to be the primary backup for Sabonis with Alex Len as the 3rd option, making Sasha the backup for Keegan Murray. Which could happen.
I think the Kings have the full mid level to still use. I am wondering if they will use it. If so, who and what position? Because I think there is right now, 11 players who should get playing time, 2 rookies who 1 might be on the team and 1 I think is a 2 way....and 2 other 2 way spots...and not sure about what is happening with the guys who were on two-way contracts last year.
So there could be 1 more spot available for someone else to come in. Maybe 2.
I think it has been a good off-season. But I was hoping good could become great.
Because I am not sure if Sasha and Chris and Bringing back Barnes, Len and Lyles are going from good to great.
Stability, yes. Depth, yes. Both of which I am glad to see. The question entering the off season was how to go from good to great...and I am not sure if it has been answered yet.

Barns vs Kuzma is 7 million and Kuzma is better. Why your bringing Grants contract in to the discussion is silly. Everyone knows Grant was way over paid. Let's not argue 7 million more for Kuzma is something crazy, it's not. All this other smoke your blowing doesn't change anything. I'm fine with the team now.. go Kings , but your argument doesn't hold water.

I feel like you're talking to the casual fan who doesn't keep up with things. Let's be real! Monte had a superb off-season. What he did was shrewd, calculated, and flat-out smart. He kept the core of this team and then added even more shooting in Vezenko and Duarte. Plus, the two rookies are high BB IQ players where C Jones fell in their lap in the 2nd round (projected to go in the 1st). Then he basically traded the 24th pick and Holmes for 25 million, giving him the flexibility to retain Sabonis, HB, and Lyles and use another exception to get Sasha Vezenko. It was just a master's class on how to run a small market team under the new CBA. If some people cannot understand what Monte did, then they need to ask themselves if J Grant, Kuz, or trading Keagan for OG would really take them to another level after spending all their money or giving away assets. I absolutely LOVE what Monte did. Just simply AWESOME IMO!
Kings are having a terrible offseason. They have done NOTHING to address their 2 biggest needs: DEFENSE AND REBOUNDING!!!!!!!
It was ok but in retrospect we were 3rd do to other teams injuries. No defense added and no real shot creators. Bol Bol and Mo Bamba went for cheap and we did nothing. The sabonis extension is a great move but we need more

Kings needed to make a splash, numerous factors came together to open an opportunity and they came up short. Could’ve been more aggressive but instead they played it safe and imo they will regret this. The West is an arms race, a war zone. Complacency doesn’t cut it.
