Def a Church or a Custom Cathedral. Not only will your citizens be happy for having a place of worship, it also makes the whole city more beautiful and also gives it a story. Keep it up man!!!
Though unfortunately there are very few bridge variations so far. Most of them are massive so they probably wouldn't have fit in in this town. I agree tho, it would be fitting.
Im kinda hyped to see a japanese region pack high density city series on this channel, i think it would be a great addition to the current lineup of Riverview and Easthaven. Love the build btw.❤❤
I think you should rename "Centrum" to "Altstadt". Keeping in line with the traditional German theme. And if you do end up adding a more modern area with higher apartment complexes, shopping malls, etc. (maybe to the north of Mittelfeld, closer to the industry area), you can call that, Neustadt.
I think it would be a lot of fun to turn Bergthal in to a pedestrian heaven (kinda the opposite of Riverview). So connecting all the villages with some proper pedestrian connections, a school outside of the Zentrum, bus lines, and some more pedestrian paths, more housing and leisure along the coast would probably turn it in to one of Germany’s most livable towns
The plot inbetween the rail tracks and "Mittelsfield" looks like a great spot for the French low rent apartments, as they look pretty similar to what you'll find in Lindau near the Lindau-Reutin station, also the base game low rent apartments look pretty close as well
Love it! You should connect the neighborhood between the roundabout and rails to the path so pedestrians can walk straight to the city center without going all the way around ;)
Honestly that walk across the bridge to the industrial site is amazing, I wouldn't mind working at an industrial site if I could take the train to work and then walk across that nice bridge
I really love when we focus a little more on city management than building so much. I feel like the whole city management and finances and stuff is a part that I am eager to see more of!
I think it would be cool to add a big castle on the small island (the one that is connected by the street) next to the main one, like the Schwerin Castle in Schwerin
"I don't need these diesel passenger trains here." Followed shortly by plonking the non-electrified small station... mild chuckles at that. Love the build Infra, dodgy grades forgiven ;o) Gendo's German Surface Pack is very nice too. Perfekt fur Centrum
Hahaha, good find! I did replace the station with an electrified version, but only because the trains actually refused to stop at the non-electrified one, which came as a surprise! And thank you!
@@Infrastructurist Oh... now that's interesting... I have DMU's running to my non-electrified so that's not something I've ever noticed. More checking required I think! Thanks for the heads-up! Oh, and placeable rail extension/upgrades to coal power, main cargo terminal, and docks coming shortly...
Unfortunately, there are no bikes in CS2 yet. All the trams are quite large and very modern looking. I really hope a historic tram asset is in one of the upcoming asset packs for Eastern Europe. Otherwise we'll just have to wait until the asset editor is released for the community to provide.
This looks so good! You should name the island area Altstadt and build a Neustadt somewhere nearby. No German city is complete without some rebuilt areas. Mainz could be good inspiration!
In germany there was a grammar-reform in 1996, on how to write stuff in standard german (Hochdeutsch) which was called "neue Rechtschreibung ", and since than, you take the "h" out oft Thal, "Centrum" became "Zentrum" and half of "ss" became "ß" - a symbol that nearly half the programms dont even know how to show it to you xD
That's not quite correct! The silent "h" following a capital "T" has not been used since the Orthographic Conference of 1901. However, this does not apply to the spelling of historical names like _Thüringen_ or place names such as _Thale_ or _Tharandt_ . The change from "C" to "Z" in words like *Zentrum* , which you mentioned, was also decided during that conference. Regarding "ß" and "ss," several changes were introduced during the 1996 spelling reform. This reform included many adjustments (such as the acceptance of triple consonants e.g., _Schifffahrt_ instead of the earlier _Schiffahrt_ ). In fact, the process often worked in the opposite direction-words that used to be spelled with "ß" were replaced with "ss," for example, _meßen_ → _messen_ , _Schloß_ → _Schloss_ , _Fluß_ → _Fluss_ , and so on. The usage of "ß" can be tricky. Generally, it is used after long vowels, as in _Fuß_ or _Buße_ , or after diphthongs, as in _heiß_ . However, there are, of course, some exceptions to these rules.
@@nasalekausalitat You're welcome! There is a reason we say "Deutsche Sprache, schwere Sprache." (literally: German language, difficult language!) although it has more in common with English one may think. :D
Honestly the European packs have looked so good I am really hoping for non European ones to be that good (I know it will be like a lot of very American packs but if we get just one non just American then I will see it as a win)
i think the industrial areas do need mail collection. if you look at the mail tab in the info view i believe it shows whether or not the mail is piling up.
maybe you can create a bus route in the industrial estate so they don't have to walk all the way from the station to their location, little more realistic. And a bus route from the centrum to the suburbs, where I live (Netherlands) many people who live a bit outside the centrum take the bus to the centrum
Apparently I like making ghettos. I have over 1000k hours in CS2. I dunno why I do it. I guess cause it's easy and looks realistic. I dunno but I keep doing it. It is intentional. It's even gotten to the point where I will build a really tall low rent building just to demolish it so that I can have some homeless.
What mod is it that allows him to edit individual assets in real time like this? Like the colors and roof props etc. I don’t have it on steam, only PC gamepass, wondering if it’s a mod only available on steam workshop
Pretty, and a very good showcase of the buildings and techniques. In the realism sense somewhat of a failure imo, far too green for such an island, too empty to justify a train station on the island itself. Should be a lot more packed with 2-3 floor buildings, up to the edge of the water.
This is mainly an aesthetic build so I've unlocked everything and have unlimited money - but those are options defined by you as a player. You can play with progression milestones, mechanics and simulation and make it quite challenging for yourself if you want :-)
I like gameplay where players faces challenges to solve to fix and grow their cities with available resources and try to balance budget with creativity, and not with unlimited money and shit.
Bergthal means Mountain valley on german..so maybe an city in an Mountain valley? ;) with some lil villages on Hills around the city? You'll give the City than the Name it deserves.
Honestly he should have just put in a bus stop to transfer from the train to a bus route in Nordwerk. The walk from the station to work could be well over 30 minutes for some of those locations. I don't think that would be too popular, even in a European city lol
What would you like to see in Bergthal next? ☃
custom catle/church would be cool but I know it may take to long
Def a Church or a Custom Cathedral. Not only will your citizens be happy for having a place of worship, it also makes the whole city more beautiful and also gives it a story.
Keep it up man!!!
MAKE A JAPANESE CITY PLEASE!!! ❤❤❤ love your vids btw😊😊
A old looking harbor would also be cool
Metro network
More attention to bridges was sorely missed, in Europe you rarely find such simple bridges, especially near a town like this one
Though unfortunately there are very few bridge variations so far. Most of them are massive so they probably wouldn't have fit in in this town. I agree tho, it would be fitting.
The bridges expansion is coming in 2025☺️
Christmas market to fit in with the upcoming season!
Now *_this_* is a good suggestion.

Pls continue with EU themed series, kinda sad you stopped norweigen themed city. You make great job with your EU cities
I think he might still make some videos with that city, the main thing holding him back was the lack of fitting assets, which is now greatly improved
I wouldn't mind if this became a longer series with more smaller towns and areas around this historical city, I think it could be really nice tbh
it would be "Zentrum" :D
Love it! You should connect the neighborhood between the roundabout and rails to the path so pedestrians can walk straight to the city center without going all the way around ;)

Do you plan release this custom low density zoning on paradox mods? That would be awesome😊

Amazing episode as always! I'm all for returning to the beautiful city of Bergthal!
more detail on the boat area, and lol i loved the sim city 4 deluxe veiw love to play it still also a nice solar farm / wind farm would look nice

If you click the 'constant slope' with anarchy, you'll get super easy straight bridges without any need to move nodes up and down 😉
It would be awesome if you'd add public transit like buses and trams and bike infrastructure to increase connectivity and make it very European!
Unfortunately, there are no bikes in CS2 yet. All the trams are quite large and very modern looking. I really hope a historic tram asset is in one of the upcoming asset packs for Eastern Europe. Otherwise we'll just have to wait until the asset editor is released for the community to provide.
@melissaharris3389 Oh, I didn't know that and that's kinda sad that it's missing. I still haven't switched from CS1
I would kinda enjoy seeing how you blend the old German city into a more modern one or using the French stuff with it too
This looks so good! You should name the island area Altstadt and build a Neustadt somewhere nearby. No German city is complete without some rebuilt areas. Mainz could be good inspiration!
Love the looks of your city! How did you make your custom European style single houses? Which are actually hotels? Couldn't find any matching mod
Really enjoyed this! Are you planning on doing something special on the smaller island with the road bridge? Perhaps a palace? A church? Castle?
Please share what settings you use for the lumina and texture replacer?
Yes,would be so useful
looks fantastic
the custom low density zoning is awesome
Thanks!
I like those long parking lots 🤩
oh my God this guy motivates me to play cities skylines

Great vid. Very nice such a nice town.
Let's go for german pack !! but we want continue the true story.... (looks like a random comment for the algo :) )
The station must be called a Hauptbahnhof. I am not German, but I cannot visit a German city without grinning at this word.
Dude, looking good bro!
38:14 someone is jumping from the balcony :(
R.I.P
Draw an invisible pedestrian path to any icons warning about pathing. It will solve the problem
Can you change the color of the trains to red like the real db trains 🚂🟥🟥🟥
Those low houses are amazing. Maybe not like western ones, but so close to balkan ones. 😁

Altstadt would probably be a better term for the city centre. Also Zentrum is spelled with a Z in German. 😊

May i ask whats the name of the mod that makes you place build manually whit out getting removed by the game? Love your videos!
What is that grass texture you are using with map texture replacer?

This series would be better just like Easthaven and Riverview Metropolis
What mod are you using that allows tou to select the trains you want?
wow that actually kinda of DO remind me of home in Sweden
I suggest zoning toolkit mod. It makes it a little bit easier to zone.
We need a steel industry for this town
Tossing the idea out there, why not build a racetrack? flex the creative muscle a little?
what mods do you use sir?

HI, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY I DON'T HAVE A TAB WITH Notre Dame IN MY GAME??? I changed the language, it didn't help.
Only the ones who preordered the game have some extra assets. It was kinda like a bonus for the one who preordered the game
@benjaminbauer6301 thank you, finally someone answer on my question 😁
We need more first person 🗣️🗣️🗣️
make a east german style prefab district
why don't you try on continuing this series by building a bigger city further away? You could take inspirtion from constanz and zurich
In German it's "Bergtal" and not "Bergthal"
These buildings look like Germany 100 years ago
Fjordholm❗️❗️❗️
ok im goin to correct you here. its not every 4th one what you did there is every 3rd one.
Is CS2 now purely about placing buildings or are there any meaningful game mechanics, simulation or something to achieve?
This is mainly an aesthetic build so I've unlocked everything and have unlimited money - but those are options defined by you as a player. You can play with progression milestones, mechanics and simulation and make it quite challenging for yourself if you want :-)
You need busses to help people get around where the train isnt. this isnt america, its europe !
Nice!
You could also have choosen the Diesel Multiple Unit (2-Car) Train for the industrial line
Please rename "Centrum" to "Altstadt".. this is way more fitting for a German town
I like gameplay where players faces challenges to solve to fix and grow their cities with available resources and try to balance budget with creativity, and not with unlimited money and shit.

I really wish they made stairs and elevator. Would be much more logical for the passenger bridge.
