An idea for Fort John old harbor is to look at the seaport district in Boston, where they used to be industrial area now, redevelopment into new mix use the development and office development
For the empty site - I think an extension of the hospital would be best! Most hospitals (at least here in the UK) are not one masterplanned developed building - but instead a mish mash of different buildings from different eras all slightly awkwardly joined together. I think some other (maybe older) buildings for the hospital with a sky bridge across the road to join the two parts would be ideal. Maybe some surface parking or a service entrance around the back would be realistic too. You can even plant a sensory garden for people recovering? Thanks!!
I don't know about train rules, but maybe change it in such a way that the tracks from the station/yard don't cross the road? It seems to me like that would create very dangerous situations, especially when all the traffic coming in through the one way section has to cross those tracks. Maybe make the main road go underneath the tracks and one lane coming off before the underpass that goes to the Switchon factory. The alley at the back of the station could stop at the entrance.
For John's Bay, I recommend you take a look at the Gasometer Plant and the Maua Docks of Porto Alegre - Brazil and see how the old docks and the new developments mix together, for a great inspiration! And Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for you and Ms. Infra :)
For the Coleridge lot: Please make a beautiful park with pedestrian crossings to the hospital. It would be suiting and great for the hospital’s patients/the citizens that live near the hospital. Also because the the surrounding neighborhoods are missing a large size city park to hang out and relax in.
Only commenting on 13:20 because i truly cannot help myself but it’s extremely extremely unlikely that freight track turnouts would interact with more than 2 tracks. turnouts (or Points) are the places where a track turns on to another track. In this rail yard you have sections where one track can change into four tracks which is just sooooo unrealistic. i think the absolute maximum would be 3 tracks where one track can turn left, right or continue ahead. Regardless, looks really cool!
I Have a name suggestion. With the server farm, radio mast, and its proximity to the university, I think naming that area 'Easthaven Technopark' would be perfect. It’s a simple and a straightforward name that reflects the tech-forward vibe and ties to the county’s identity. Areas like this-where a lot of infrastructure already exists, close to universities and industrial zones-are often called technoparks. These technoparks are typically planned by the government, well-kept, and carefully manicured to maintain their prestige. The district could even expand along the coast ( around that little archipelago) to include specialized research institutes, government buildings, and standout prestigious companies, whether industrial or office.
I've been watching Easthaven County since basically the beginning with Chowder Bay before it was even expanded into the other islands, and so far it's been a really fun series. Thanks infra 🎉
37:43 whatever you did that suddenly changed the lighting and colors in your game, it looks amazing!!! I have a hunch it could be the Google Maps LUT for Lumina because the moment it switched I thought you had opened Google Earth 😄 But really it looks so much better, I especially appreciate the less intense shadows.
Idea for the empty lot. A thing, alot of great cities have (which I realy enjoy) is some kind of public square with an opera house/ theatre/ concert house or a large public museum. Since there is a school nearby, maybe one could build one of the above and rebrand it as sth like "Academy of the Free Arts" or "... Conservatory of Fort John", where the "..." is the name of some old musician or old mayor who lived in town. Another Idea, would be a public square with some large, old government building, like a court or "ministry of finances" or sth like that. Thank You for the christmas present, that is Your video! I realy enjoy your content. Enjoy christmas and new years!
You should clip some of those factory buildings to create a big factory complex in forge point - ie a big car factory or similarly scaled huge building. Looks great! (ps I hate your rail yards so much haha)
Usually roads in the US aren't named "Pikeway." I suggest renaming the Cape Rose Pikeway to: Cape Rose Pike Using just the word "Pike" is much more common (at least where I live) and especially in highly suburban and rural areas.
Rather than a bay, you should do a mountain range between the new industrial district and the cape rose vacation area. A physical barrier would probably help keep the upmarket vibe intact.
Could the promenade of Port John reflect the Seattle waterfront? You could leave a gap along the road where an elevated ugly asf highway used to run through the city (1960s crazy planning) and where it’s been demolished in recent years and turned into a park? Then on the other side you have a series of old quays with dock buildings on them - old warehouse buildings that are now tourist attractions and fancy office spaces
I feel like a greenspace, or nature reserve for the downtown would be great, and somewhat realistic. My city has turned parts of an off ramp that has been decommissioned into a small park. It's always great to see more nature in an urban environment.
39:32 ok so im a bit confused, bc i see lots of youtubers doing this, but how do i get the careful placement and access to the individual building models, is it a mod?
hi infra! great build as always... just a couple of things i might comment about Fort Jonh that's been bothering me for quite a while. The first is a matter of scale!- the scale of downtown feels really off... not considering the fact that the city is on its own island which its very unlikely for a city of that dimension, the core /high-rise zone of the city is really too confined and the height contrast with the port and lower residential zones is a bit too forced... it's not really 'gradual'? (im shit at explaining myself my bad lol) I was personally thinking of just reclaiming a chunk of the bay (I was thinking the whole natural indent on the right of the central train station looking from the coast) and expanding the down town area there and give it a bit more space... maybe it can be an even older part of the city center with narrow streets and more historical looking high-rise... or on the contrary it might be the latest developed area with modern skyscrapers, larger trees-lined boulevard .. a bit more space between buildings etc. It can be an hypothetical project done in the last decades that dried up part of the bay to make more space for the old crowded down-town... so the ultra modern look can be intentional. From there you can dilute the density and place lower and lower assets ;) The second thing that kinda bothers me is the 'color palette' of the city. I Personally think it's too white and grey. if you look at 'historical' American cities such as Boston (by historical i mean built in the late 19th century) there are a looot of browns, and beiges and reds etc... because the material most commonly used were obviously stones and bricks... not concrete or glass/metal. Unless you were going for that particular modern look... i don't think it fits what you are going for... especially since you recoloured some really vintage looking assets in stark white. I know it kinda feels icky to keep an asset by its beige colour... or recolour something in brown... but it really makes the building appear older and more historically accurate. i't just one of my pet-peeves I'm sorry ahah.... And please that giant tall-ass ocean front building covering the really old and nice townhouses one roads back so that they can never see the sunlight its just an abomination i know this things can kinda happen irl but please, no. Probably in those old expensive townhouses live snob, rich folks and they would never permit to build such an high rise that close to their property... moreover if the road that separates them is that narrow. I'm sorry if i sounded arrogant... those are just my personal thought i just want Port Jonh to be great... I don't expect you to implement any of my ideas... :) Also... Merry Christmas!... to you and your loved ones. If you need some times off youtube for the holiday season I should't be the one to tell you to do it, just take it and relax. Greetings from Italy !👋🎄
Hi . Can you make one gated community, a big one. Like a area with boundaries/walls/fences and a residential area and commerciall too,no industrial... I'm highly conflicted about the diagonal road going underneath the highway. I mean, it doesn't go anywhere, hence there's no car on it, and makes the interesction with the highway over- and unrealisticly -complicated
Maybe you could put a office space with a really cool parking garage or underground parking for a really cool and modern office district. HUH?!?!? HUH?!?! WHAT U THINK?? :D

@@Infrastructurist God Jul! :)
sorry kids, I can't care for you right now. Infrastructurist just uploaded 1 hour of content about building a downtown that doesn't exist.
59:10 - Well now it looks like the area next to the elementary school needs to be reserved for a memorial to the victims of that fire. 😬
An idea for Fort John old harbor is to look at the seaport district in Boston, where they used to be industrial area now, redevelopment into new mix use the development and office development
A day when Infrastructurist uploads is always a good day!
Love it! Was wandering what to do tonight, but now I know!
Happy Christmas and new year, and thanks for this year of content

You could add a small beach in fort john as a park and add a lighthouse with a story with it
🎉 Merry Christmas Infra !

Really liking the New Additions!

Fantastic. Really like the construction detail. Happy Christmas!
What a christmas present was this video! Love to see this series.
West Haven county never gets any love 😭
Yeah love this series! Never had anything to do with city skylines till i found this series.. now im a bit of a junkie :D

A New Video ❤ Glædelig Jul, man! Greetings from cologne!
Mixed use urban zoning in the Coleridge lot, the new grass top assets would look sick
If downtown is inspired by Boston, you need a "Big Dig" underground freeway in the center of downtown.
You should clip some of those factory buildings to create a big factory complex in forge point - ie a big car factory or similarly scaled huge building. Looks great! (ps I hate your rail yards so much haha)

I still miss fjordholm😞🥺
32:17 you should texture the hills to look like they were industrial slag/coal refuse dumping sites.

I think you should try and make an archaeological dig site in that elementary school lot
Forge point sounds like a RUclips channel lol. How about Twin Points Industrial Park?

The cranes should be yellow and cyan.
They actually stand out since all the buildings are greyscale.

Putting a church on the empty block would look great imo

Honestly… Riverview was my fav city, but I’m starting to like this one…… more?? Idk 🤷♂️ nice vid btw
Was just thinking about you and saw your upload
Great video like always.
Now, how about small British/Dutch colonial era town/district near Fort John Bay?
also use that lot for some courtyard buildings
When you plopping the growables you are start the game 1-0, but I will insist not to use it 😅 Gonna watch the episode part by part rn
Random questions, but how'd you get the ferris wheel in Riverview, and are you ever gonna release the save game on PDX mods?
Downtown fort john needs way more trees on the sidewalks
We should build a shipyard
We will, already planned! 🚢🛳️🛥️
@ ah merry Christmas mate
I’ve been thinking about making the clean industrial zone! How hard was it to do?
i had no interest in this game until i stumbled upon your videos. i ll get it as soon as i upgrade my pc
Do you have the industrial in paradox mods... I have no clue how to do that
you could do some sort of memorial to the EU contry that went here and build the old buildings ( if it makes sense )
Hi .

Thanks❤
does he offer the saves on his patreon?
I dont belive a pikeway is an actual thing so maybe reconsider that name.

i think you are a bit off the board with parking and trains, it is getting old, sorry to be negative
